***OFFICIAL-AZ eats Crow over Ted Ginn***

Well, I don't know about eating crow, I never called him a bust, I just stated he has not done anything and it was time to put up or get splinters on the bench.

And to his credit, a light has seemed to come on, he has played very well.

I'm glad my little talk with him worked!

 

Dont think you need to eat crow just yet, while he has shown flashes hes not anyone elses #1 wideout for the most part.

Hes been doing better and I like him on special teams alot more than bess.

He needs to be in the game every game. He makes some good catches but we might not see him again for 3 games the way it's been going..

I think he can improve and will be a good wideout going forward, just that hes not ready for prime time just yet..

 

Great post azfin, and I'm with you, I've also been extremely down on that Ginn pick the whole way. Here's to hoping he continues to prove us wrong!

I've been a bit critical.. I'll eat a small side of jeezum crow.. impressive 4th down catch..

 

Ditto. I threw up in my mouth alittle bit when he ran out of bounds in that San Diego game.

I thought the guy was too soft to become the player this team needed, hopefully he's well on his way to proving me wrong.

I know folks say WRs typically take 3 years to develop, but I believe that they have to make strides from year to year. I've been saying for a while that I wanted to see Ginn come up with 57 catches, 908 yards, an 6 TDs. Those are pretty high expectations.

Through 10 games Ginn is on pace for 61 catches, 813 yards, and 2 TDs.

When looking at those numbers, that's better second year production than Lee Evans, Reggie Wayne, Roy Williams, or Santana Moss. It's very similar production to Braylon Edwards.

Think about that for a minute.

I believe Ginn's game to be similar to Evans, Wayne, and Moss ... and he's exceeding all of them. He's also outpacing some young #1 receivers in Roy Williams and Braylon Edwards.

Not bad for a guy lots of people were calling a bust last year.

 

Well, eating crow might have to be reserved for those teams that passed on Ginn, rather than fans of our beloved Fins, but...I agree with your assessment of Ginn with one exception...

Ginn would be amazing for us if we did have a TO, Ocho Cinco, or much preferably a Anquan Boldin type opposite number to complement...this offense with such a WR, would allow Ginn to do what he's best at and that's catch the ball and get YACs...that would be something to watch...

But, I too, have to eat a little crow...I was just glad they didn't take Quinn, so anyone would have been alright with me...then Cam just totally misused the young WR last year getting him off to a much slower start than you'd expect from a #9 pick...

 

I'm so happy for Ted and the fact that hes on our team. I, for one don't want him to be a TO, Ocho stinko, or anyother wideout that is not a team player. When he ran in for that first score I was just as excited as if it had been Paul or any of our other WRs from the past who became housewhole names for us. Way to go Teddy!!

 

Everyone needs to give a WR 3 years. There are always exceptions like Boldin or Colston, but for the most part, 3 years is when they start to really shine. Next year will be huge for him and us.

hes only going to get better too... we just need to find ways to get the ball in his hands more, because he is showing he can do big things for us if we do that...

Save some crow for me as well...I have had my doubts, and thought he might be traded. I still think we need another big fast WR to take pressure off Ginn, then we will see what this kid can really do.

You know, I actually really appreciate this... I've been by Ginn's side since day one, I've always liked the kid. I was surprised that we selected him, I really was... I seen Quinn was still on the board and just thought "he's our pick..." but nope...

I'll admit I'm wrong with many things, I was wrong about the Jake Long selection... I was very iffy that he could play left tackle in the NFL but so far he's proven me wrong. I know I can be stubborn as hell with my opinion, like many here, but I'll admit I'm wrong when I'm wrong...

Trust me, I know how Kenny is stubborn. I've had my fair share of arguments with him over the Ted Ginn debate among other things... When you man up and can admit your mistakes, that deems some respect.

Ginn still has a ways to go, but so far I think we can take him out of the 'bust' category... This kid is looking good, on the field and off. I just love his attitude and quite frankly, I love all our receivers because they just work well together.

You bring in someone like Kenny Britt out of Rutgers and man... Britt, Ginn, Camarillo, and Bess? I'm liking that...

 

Me and AZ were on the other side of fence in a particular thread where the topic was Ginn. You held firm in your position, and thankfully, you were right.

We're all Dolphin fans and despite how frustrated some of us may be, we ALL want what's best for this team (which, undoubtedly in this case, is Ginn playing like a top 10 pick).

I couldn't be happier that he's proving me a wrong a game at a time. We're going to need him in a big way this Sunday against NE.

 

While it says a lot about Ginn and while he might just develop into the kind of player Cameron envisioned, it also says a lot about the former FOs competence. You don't draft a WR with a learning disability 9th overall. You simply don't. You can love the kid all you want, you don't shell out a top 10 pick for a guy with a learning disability. Grasping the playbook fast is such an enormous factor in today's game for a rookie (see Jason Allen's initial and continuing struggles) that you simply can't take that risk with a must-hit selection.

 

Put a little seasoning and olive oil on that Crow AZ, 'cause I'm going to need to share a bit of that bird with ya. Happy to do it, glad we're starting to see in him what CamRan saw. Might be the best thing those two did for us (Beck excluded, not ready to say they were wrong about Beck yet, but sure will take the two Chads over Beck any day now, sorry John).

 

I wanted us to draft Quinn, and I still wish we did. That said, Ginn is proving he may well yet be worthy of his draft status. Not proven it yet, but he's potentially on the way. You at least get the feeling he's headed in the right direction finally, and is a bit of a play-maker! That more than anything means his future value to the team could be immeasurable.

Now, if Brady Quinn goes on to be the next perennial Pro Bowl QB .... ... but at least we'll have Ginn making plays for us to numb the pain a bit. Winning doesn't hurt either!

 

See that's why I just go ahead and support every single player, especially when they are down (Joey P, Porter, J. Allen etc.).

If you are wrong, well you're just supporting your team. If you're right, well you look like a damn Nostradamus.

 

There is some truth to this strategy. Take Penny for example. When we signed him, I wanted to throw up. The sight of him in a Dolphin uni just made me sick. Not to mention, I thought he was completely washed up.

But after a few days, I came to grips w/ it and started to support him a bit. Now look .....

 

Chad was actually the one guy I was kinda down on. But it was all selfish. I wanted some explosion from our passing game, and that best was served by a stronger armed QB. I never thought he wouldnt play well, I just like the pizazz and flash of down the field passing

 

Teddy Dangerous {my new one for him}, Mach 19 or Ted Ginzu is becoming very lethal..

I love him on our sideline waving the flag, the kid has a great perspective on this game, great work ethic combioned with having fun...the best part is he's a TRUE DOLPHIN.

I said we would draft him, we did and i knew he would be great...no crow for me on ted. but i respect your gesture AZ

 

You know, I don't understand the theory of hating an ex rival player in our uniform.

I hate teams, not players.. well. most of the time. There are some guys I can't stand but I digress.

If we take player x from team y in our division then either a)we're trying to stick it to them or b) they're incredibly dumb for letting a talented guy go.

In my mind converting someone from rags to riches is the best opportunity we can give the pour soul.

 

That's harsh Ven. You completely ignore the hard work and success he attained even WITH learning issues. That he continually works to overcome it says very good things about this kid. He is a workaholic, and is very determined. To take pot shots about a disability you know nothing about is lame bro. My father had dyslexia so bad he had repeat back things like the Navy to make sure he got it right. It was severe. He told me once he had NEVER read a book for pleasure his whole life the dyslexia was so bad. When he took the nationwide Captains test for Police officers, he was the highest score for nearly ten years.. He had a handicap that he overcame.. just like Ginn. Having a learning disability doesn't make you stupid, or a bad risk if you've shown the ability and determination to overcome it.

I think we absolutely did the right thing by picking him, I have been in his court from day one and I'm glad that the doubters are coming around, and the haters are running out of ammo.

 

I to am eating the crow after all my negative comments about Ginn. Patience is a virtue. I will remember in the future to have more patience and let a player develop before attempting to rip a player.
