Well, I want to catch more of Michael Johnson. He's a first round pick this year. See if I can find any flaws or anything I haven't seen yet.

Please tell me how players are allowed to start moving forwards before a snap.

Wanted to see how my concerns fared tonight.

Failed at that. Dwyer as broken many tackles tonight.

Michael Johnson is having a hell of a game. Has an interception returned for touchdown, has applied pressure multiple times and has caused confusion for the young Quarterbacks.

Finally, Marve hasn't played well. Threw an interception early, hasn't converted the third downs either.

GT did an outstanding job exposing Miami's D for what it is: Undisciplined and Lacking fundamentals.

That game was terrible. To give up all those rushing yards and INT's, you can't expect to win a game like that. We weren't ready for GT's offense at all, and their defense is very good. We've got a great young team, but they're still learning to work together.
It was fun being ranked for a week, but the season's not over yet. :theu:

It's all speed and athleticism. Been that way since about 2003 or 2004.

Wow, the curse of the Ranked ACC team strikes again. I swear it seems as soon as any team in the ACC is ranked they lose and lose the ranking. I think only FSU was able to keep the ranking for more than like a week.

If Jacory Harris doesn't start (full time) next season I'm petitioning against this coaching staff. I admit to being completely wrong; I see nothing in Robert Marve that tells me he even has the potential to be better than Jacory Harris. Harris has flat out been the better QB the entire season. I hope he transfers and succeeds elsewhere if Marve remains the starter, because he doesn't deserve this. Harris should start and play full time against NC State, in fact. I like Marve a lot, but I can't trust him to go out there and win a football game when the defense isn't completely dominating.

Not that it matters (honestly, I'd rather not get embarrassed by a team like Maryland on national TV), but what needs to happen along with a Miami win next week for us to win the Coastal? Obviously GT & NC need to lose, but is that it?

Can't imagine more than 1/3 happening here:

I'd probably rank Virginia Tech below Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and Miami, but:

They're in the driver's seat, and it isn't a tough one at all. Win two home games against 5-5 and 4-6 teams, and the division is their's whether they are the best team or not. I'd lean strongly towards "not"

How sad... and this is as bad as GT will ever be with their new coach. Damn, my gut fears the pats doing the same thing to us Sunday.

No way we give up 6000 rushing yards to the Patsies like the Canes did last night. I fee like I've been kicked in the nuts this morning.

Tough to watch last night, no doubt.
Good news is that they are still young and HOPEFULLY this si the worst that they will play for the rest of the year.

They have never seen an option run that way and I'm sure they will not let this happen to them again next year.

This thing is not going get turned around until these Juniors and Seniors that NEVER seem to make a play are gone and the entire roster is infused with Randy's kids. Everytime you see a play made - it's by a Freshman or a Sophomore.

Oh and uh the QB switcheroo needs to stop - Jacory needs to start. Marve acts like he's never seen a blitz because he sure as hell can't recognize it and Harris is more poised.

I don't see any growth in the way the offense is being run. I'm finally ready to admit it's time for Nix to go. Last night's loss was because of the D but if the O makes some plays early I think the game is a lot closer. The D was on the field way too much. Nix isn't consistent enough to warrant keeping his job.

Nix wasnt the one dropping passes or throwing interceptions.

Let's keep it real people. To blame Nix for last night's loss is ridiculous. We gave up over 400 yards rushing.:pity:

I thought I'd give an update on how some of the recruits are looking for UM. In RB Lamar Miller's last game, he only had 27 yards rushing on 19 carries as he was shut down by Columbus High. However in the game he had an 85 yard punt return and a 40 yard touchdown reception. Again Palmetto, which I believe Jakhari Gore attends, he ran for 166 yards including an 80 yard touchdown. Then against South Dade, he ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Really looking forward to watching this guy at UM. He and Bryce Brown are going to be fun to watch, assuming Bryce Brown comes. Brown visited Missouri and had a blast there and he's still deciding. He's likely to be a Hurricane as he follows his brother everywhere he goes but he could still change his mind.

Speaking of Bryce Brown, on the first of the month, he had a big day in the all-star game in Kansas. He ran for 192 yards on 25 carries. He finished his Senior season with 1,872 yards and 6,809 yards in his HS career.

Seminole Defensive End Dyron Dye, top 150 ESPN recruit and #11 overall at his position, has narrowed down his choices to UM and LSU. His choice will be made on the day of the Under Armour All-American game. He's 6'4", 215 lbs and has very good lateral speed as well as good quickness off of the LOS. He, Allen Bailey, Wesley, Marcus Robinson, Adewale Ojomo are going to be a hell of a team. Ojomo is the sacks specialist from them, Robinson is the speedy guy (runs a 4.5), Bailey is the strong one (292 lbs of pure muscle, literally; 0% body fat) who is getting better and better while Wesley is a good rotational player.

Another Seminole recruit, WR Andre Debose, has narrowed down his schools to UF, LSU and UM. Some sites have him listed at 6'0", 180 lbs but that may be being generous. He's probably a couple inches shorter and about ten lbs lighter. Very raw playmaker who relies on his speed and athleticism. He has exceptional speed, blazing speed. There's also Safety/QB/LB Ray Ray Armstrong, from Seminole High as well. He's probably too slow for a Safety. Its either LB or QB for him and signs point to LB from what I heard.

I'm sure you guys know this already, but just an update: Clemson's win over Virginia earlier today has eliminated Miami. North Carolina's debacle against N.C. State obviously eliminates them.

Virginia Tech wins next week and they're the coastal champs. If not, then Georgia Tech can take it, and rightfully so. Virginia Tech is is an average football team. Sad thing is, the ACC Coastal winner probably wins the ACC and ends up in the Orange Bowl (BCS). Miami and North Carolina are easily the best teams in the coastal, IMO, but whatever.

Seriously, Virginia Tech potentially getting a BCS bowl game shows how terrible the system is. If the ACC had a playoff itself, I guarantee they wouldn't even sniff the conference title.

I wouldn't even rank Boston College or Virginia Tech in my top 5 teams in the ACC, and right now, they're both on pace to face off for the conference title in Tampa.

And I'm not a bitter Hurricanes fan; I'd actually be fine with a team like North Carolina representing the Coastal, but they choked against a team they're far better than. What I'm saying is that we really need some type of playoff system, because this is trash. Two mediocre teams are going to represent a conference that has MUCH MORE to offer, based on some raggedy *** tie-breaker system that doesn't even tell which team is better.

This morning the Herald has the game "off the books" as do they have the Dolphins. Could it be injuries causing this ?

If we can win this one and get a decent bowl game you have to consider this season a success. We can only get better with another good recruiting class and offseason of training for our young guys.

I don't think its that bad, Lab. Young team and sitting at a 7-5 record is good IMO. They'll be better next year with a extra year of experience. I still think we have to get rid of Nix.

What's most disappointing I think is the way Bill Young's defense collapsed the last two games. He was brought in here to win games like these with defense, and he choked in both games, and I don't have much hope for the bowl game.

We can only hope they are hungry next year. However next year's schedule is a killer -- VaTech, UNC and FSU all on the road, and Oklahoma at Dolphin Stadium. We could lose at least 4 if not 5 again next year.

Honestly, we came close to beating UNC and FSU while we did beat VaTech so I don't see it as a big deal. Oklahoma may be rescheduled because of the Marlins. Bill Young has to stop running that damn zone defense, it doesn't work. When is he going to get it in his head. In my opinion, these losses came from either bad coaching or too young of players. Our upperclassmen are suppose to be the ones who are better but they are outplayed by the young guys. We can't expect to win nine or ten games with the freshmen doing all the work. We lost Colin McCarthy earlier this season and he was one of our leaders. Sean Spence is a great freshmen but he doesn't have the size for full time yet. We had Romeo Davis playing along Glenn Cook. Davis can't stay healthy and hit the right gaps while Cook is the definition of inconsistency. In the secondary, we had Bruce Johnson make mistakes, Lavon Ponder isn't a good tackler, Anthony Reddick hasn't looked the same after the knee surgeries, and Randy Phillips, arguably our best Safety, got injured and was done for the year. He'll likely be granted a medical redshirt and be back next year. Marve won't be the starter next year IMO. Harris has great feel for the game, decent accuracy and knows what he's doing out there. Doesn't force it. He has great chemistry with the WR's and then next year, Tommy Streeter will be playing. Streeter has good hands, speed and is a possession receiver. He was Harris' teammate at NW, starting opposite of Aldarius Johnson.
