got it a few weeks ago... Didnt really play it till this weekend. Around midnight warp and I was bored and we played story mode (DC side). Somethings I noticed...

    1. Jam packed with story. It's actually very decent... Very comic book like (for obvious reasons), but good nonetheless. I actually enjoyed it alot.

    2. Looks great. All of the characters have lots of details and are well displayed. the MK Characters seems to look better (as far as textures and costumes) then the DC ones. I don't think Midway had full control over the DC characters look... Which is understandable.

    3. The story mode took us through 8 different characters and was over 3 hours long. Assuming the MK side is similar, we're talking about 6+ hours in story mode before you get into the VS modes and online stuff. Good bang for your fighting buck.

    4. It's not balanced - Some guys can easily cream other guys. Finding balance in a game this big is no small task. But some guys completely suck while others are awesome. I'm sure it'll be tweeked as the game is out longer.

Overall, it's the funnest fighting game I've played in a while. Trumps VF5 imo. But this is coming from a guy that isn't too fond of fighting games. I really liked it.

It should also be noted that The Joker is the most entertaining character ever in this game. Literally had us lawling.

adding to this, it has something for every fighting style, if your a str8 up bruiser you can use people like Lex or Superman to get up in there guys.. if your a special moves guy you can use guys like Joker or Flash, if your a finest moves/bruiser guy, then you can go batman..

    really good game imo..
we should do MK side imo.

Is Superman pretty much invincible on the game? I heard somewhere that MK was told they could not mess up the S on his chest, such as bleeding, cuts, etc.

Nobody. And that's the point of me mentioning it. It's actually there. And they put time into it... And I liked it.

IMO The Flash has the best finishers by far, out of all HB's and Fatalities...

    I get what you're saying.

The fatalities are nothing special IMO, its not MK if its not gratiously violent.
Can someone explain to me why when Superman freezes someone they dont shatter, but when Sub-Zero does the same thing they do shatter?

I think the whole idea vs heroic brutalities vs fatalities is that the heroes show compassion and let their enemies live, while the baddies kill.

In the game story it actually makes fun of itself at one point where batman wins, and Shang Tsung yells "Finish him!" and batman tells him that they dont do that to their enemies. I thought it was cool.

That's cool and all....I still dont know how SuperMan would ever lose....but thats besides the point.

The juxtaposition of the two words, "Heroic Brutality"....man if law enforcement encompasses them, it brings whole new meaning and spin to the next Rodney King incident!

As an old school fan of MK games and DC comics I absolutely love this game.

Anyone that was a fan of the old MK games will probably like this. It plays very similar MK2 IMO and probably would have been better served to if it was a straight 2d game. Not that the 3d elements were done poorly...but they were not very necessary either. My only real complaint is that the 360's D-pad sucks, especially for Fatalities. I'm sure that complaint would be a non-issue on the PS3.

Story mode is hands down better then the past 3 MK games. I really hope they are making this a series and they keep the same writers on for all the games because I am hooked.

Like said before there is no balance, some guys will just stomp others no matter who is controlling. Back in the day Midway could work this stuff out in the arcades, before they ported the game to the consoles, so it wasn't as big of a deal. I heard some DLC will be coming for the game soon, hopefully that clears some of this up.

Even with the Teen rating the game is still violent. Its not as ridiculously violent as some of the other MK games but that doesn't take away from the game experience overall. I like that the DC heroes don't kill...if all DC characters didn't kill I'd have a problem but the heroes don't kill in the comics so they really should kill here either...it just makes sense. Hopefully though the low sales shows Midway/DC that the Teen rating isn't an instant profit booster and will open up the possibility for MKvsDC2 to be rated M.

Im pretty shocked how highly some of you speak of this game. I rented it, and i thought it was pretty terrible. The button combinations seem archaic. Seriously, most the attacks are two directions and a punch/kick. (Left right punch, or right down kick, etc) That was fine on the genesis and snes, but kind of ridiculous with duel anolog sticks. And the timing of setting up combos is seriously broken. They tell you to do 'slight pause' in the middle of the combo, but they aren't clear on when to do the pause, or how long it should be. I don't know, I'm glad you guys liked it but I was incredibly frustrated with this game.

Not to mention, as others have said, there's almost no reason to be certain characters.

I have only enjoyed one 3-d fighter, and it's always been Soul Caliber. Outside of that i prefer 2-d fighters much more. That or 2.5 D fighters (Smash bros, or soon to be Street Fighter 4)

I agree with what you're saying here. I think if this game were 2d and the 360 controller was better built for a fighter, I may have enjoyed this game MUCH more.

Marvel Vs. Capcom is still a much better game than this IMO, and i think that has a lot to do with sticking to 2d rather than making circular arenas in 3-d. It makes no sense really. The characters in MK vs. DC all play like they're on a 2-d level, moving mainly left and right, but then one move or a roll in that third direction and you have to wait for the screen to re-adjust itself.

well imo this is a 2.5D fighter... Second, the Combos are like MK3. I loved it. But I can understand your points
