Lol yeah man. 13 yard punt? Ouch. And to top it off, he busted his arse. I don't know man, I feel so bad for the fans. Detroit just looks uhh...like a group of people who have never played football.
Predict the final Titan total!!! The spread was 11 and like a fool I picked DET to hang within that. Oh well. I say Final Titan total is 45
I don't complain. I'm getting double time plus holiday pay to sit here playing on ThePhins.com and watching Detroit get abused. On a side note, the people in the dome must be cold. According to FoxSports.com it is only 36ยบ.
Lol that's true. However, why don't they give you a paid day-off so you can watch football on your couch. I know, I know, as the theory goes, "and then I woke up." (from the dream)
Wow...so 17 for the Lions...sitting at 3 now...they need another 2 TDs?? I say 45-6!!! (Hansen nails a 60+yarder)
Can we petition the NFL to get the Lions off Thanksgiving? I am all for tradition but it's 28-3 and we just turned the bloody game on. It's like this every year, you know the first game automatically sucks because one of the teams does - EVERY YEAR!
Yeah, I loved when they had Barry Sanders just for fun he brought, but they are so far removed from those days. I have no idea what their Thanksgiving Record is, but clearly no home-field advantage exists.
Right, that was the only consolation was watching him run, now I almost want to watch a parade. Almost.
After last year, I kinda agree, but Detroit fans have a lot more experience at being disappointed than we do. They'll roll with it.
I can only catch glimpses, as I'm at my sister's and both of her TVs are occupied. I managed to catch Chris Johnson's 60 yard TD run. I have Chris Johnson on one fantasy team and the Tennessee defense on two others.
I can not recall a longer run where the carrier did not make contact with one single player (offense or defense) and score. He may have as well simply been timed with a stop watch in a dash cause no one laid a hand on him.....horrible football.
Anyone who's actually sitting and watching this--what is Detroit's problem? I tend to think it's their offensive and defensive lines. Is this accurate?
how long was ronnies run against NE this year? i dont think he really got touched on that.. sidenote- chris johnson is a beast of a player. hope the analysts that made fun of tenn during the draft feel dumb
Nutshell....which is why I am starting to believe and accept that as far as we have come as team ourselves, this next draft is still about front 7 on D and OLine upgrade too.
definitely. look at tennessee- they have great lines, can control the LOS and what do they get? great running game from their talents RBs and great defensive prowess
I'm sure glad I'm starting the Titans D/ST, and Rob Bironas is fantasy this week. The Titans D/ST have already given me 28 points, and Bironas has given me 5 and he'll probably give me at least 5 more with just kicking extra points.
I think its the lines, the secondary and poor Quarterback play as well. This team has an average signal caller at best with Daunte Culpepper, they have a couple of guys along the offensive line that are good players (Backus, Cherilus) but the others are below average. On defense, they just don't execute the basics. They don't tackle well, they will over-pursue, they aren't in position to succeed. The Linebacking core isn't very good, outside of Ernie Sims, and then the secondary doesn't look like it fits in with what they're trying to do, or at least looks like that. They give up a lot of cushion and you can see Brian Kelly just jumping around, lacking hustle, which was seen on Justin McCarien's catch across the middle. They have some pieces of the puzzle in my opinion, guys like Kevin Smith, Gosder Cherilus, Calvin Johnson, Shaun McDonald, Ernie Sims, but they have more pieces that don't fit the puzzle than the ones that do. If that makes sense. They need to blow up the whole team and start over IMO.
Ronnie's was 62, but he bounced off a defender in the secondary (crappy shoulder tackle attempt vs. wrap up technique) and may have made contact at line of scrimmage with a Miami Lineman. Either way, contact was made. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80afb27d&campaign=ec0009
If they actually decide to start over, rather than simply making Martin Mayhew the full-time GM, then this will be a very good draft to start a rebuilding process with. Good left tackle crop, plenty of QBs, and some quality defensive linemen.
With the receivers they have, if they traded for McNabb, and used all their draft picks on Lineman on both sides of the ball they would be a much better and probably be 8-8 worst case next year.
If they are serious, who cares, offer them co-franchise ownership....get it done to give the fans a measure of respectibilty and stop being the laughing stock of the NFL.
Yeah, well Detroit has a good amount of draft picks. They have the original draft picks that come and then they have 1st, 3rd and 6ths of Dallas from the Roy Williams trade. So they have the following. 1a 1b 2 3a 3b 4 5 6 *they traded their seventh to Dallas in the Williams deal. They could make something out of this draft. The problem is that they have to hit on these picks and they haven't had success with that. If they can bring in the right front office and coach, they'll be a team that could be competing in a couple years. I believe Philadelphia would be asking for a first rounder, a late one. That late one could be the Dallas pick.
