    I was thinking about it.

When someone asks me "Who's your team?" I say "The Miami Dolphins". I obviously don't say Ronnie Brown or Ted Ginn or Channing Crowder.

So when a player doesn't necessarily have the game the coaches (and fans) know they can have - be it Ronnie with the runs or Ginn dropping a few passes or the Oline maybe letting a few guys into the backfield - that as long as the team comes out ahead with a W at the end of the day most of my blues are cured because as a team we got it done.

I'm very thankful that this team has class players all the way around. I mean sure Crowder got into that fight w/Light but football is an intense game. And at least he didn't accidentally shoot himself in the foot while being out at a night club and otherwise disturbing the force or calling out his QB or any other nonsense that happens on other teams :shifty:

I guess my point to this thread is this: The Miami Dolphins are 7-5 after a 1-15 season. Who here thought we'd win 7 games? I know I did once I found out Parcells and Co. were moving into S.FL. (I picked 6-8).

What I like most about the record is how we get it done. We get it done when it needs to be done. We might not blow guys out of the water but if we need a first down, who's there? Davone Bess. Ted Ginn. Ronnie Brown. Lou Polite. Chad Pennington. Who blocks for them? The line. If we need a defensive stand we have everyone from vets like Porter and Goodman all the way to Rooks like Langford and Merling making plays for us.

Now, with that being said during the offseason some moves are going to be made. There might be some players going that some might not want to see go. There might be some long term contracts being locked up that surprise some people. Maybe not? I think like this: If it is for the good of the Miami Dolphins then I'm all for it. At 7-5 after a 1-15 season I (hopefully along with the rest of you) trust where Sparano/Ireland/Parcells want to take this team.

I guess you could say this is a "Lets go get those Bills!" kinda thread.. I dunno. I guess all I have to say is...

    How 'bout them phins?

this could be merged with the ted ginn thread. but yes, i agree. Why should the fans pick and choose who they are going to hold to an impossible standard? It's insane.

P.S. I was optimistic about getting 7-9 wins this year. Nothing feels better than optimism fulfilled. Especially after last year.

This isn't about Ted Ginn it's about the Miami Dolphins. How can they be merged? It's a swelling of pride not the blaming of an individual!

And 7-9 wins, wow you're optimistic. I was thinking 6-8 like I said but more on the 6ish side.

I'm with you. I've watched many players come and go, but the Dolphins are my team.
I've cried when some of the players have left. Cheered when some left.
Got depressed BAD over Shula and Dan. And still hate that JT & Zach are gone.
BUT, their still the Miami Dolphins and nothing will stop me from loving them, pulling for them, being angry at them at times and being proud to be a true fan.
I've never wavered in being a fan. I love this team win, lose or draw.
And this year they are playing as a team, holding each other up, giving us hope and turning into what the Dolphins have always stood for IMO - class and dignity.

I'm not a homer--I'm in love with the Miami Dolphins!! :wink2:

Yeah, I was just writing from my head. I didn't want to make the player list any longer than it needed to be and the line is seen as a cohesive unit anyway

If this group of players have taught me anything, and i'm sure they've all learned it too and now experienced it, it doesn't come down to one player.

Individual stats are not what wins games. Yes JP has lots of sacks. But it was Ted and Chad who completed a 4th and 5 against the raiders. Dan kicked the FG. Against the rams, Goodman sealed the win with a late one on one bomb.

Ronnie and ricky have had to find success running, catching and playing qb. The line is totally revamped. The corners have had to step up their play esp. when the pass rush couldn't get there.

This team lost a couple games close. The d's meltdown on 4th and 10 to andre johnson (amazing catch, bell was there all the way) Late fall apart vs the pats, the hail mary vs farve week one, the secondary's issues vs the cards.

I think all in all they are getting different parts stepping up each week and the lesson their learning is we win together or we lose together. No more of this isolated this player did it all type of mentality. They are relying on each other to move this team forward and the difference making is coming from a different area each week. The team for the most part has made plays when they needed to, whoever happens to be on the field. Several of our games were close and really could have went either way, both our wins and losses, and it would be unrealistic to expect we would come away with the win every time.

This team has embodied what i think cheering for a TEAM is all about. I hope that culture stays and gets stronger. Finally i hope any new player or drafted player who comes in has that team first characteristic about them, even if their past stats aren't the best.

In my case, I'm a Dolphin fan first and foremost. To me, that means I'm a fan of the FRANCHISE. I am a fan of it's ups and downs. I am a fan of it's past Super Bowl rings even if I was not born at that time. I am a fan of the Perfect Season. I am a fan of its fans. I am a fan of what the Dolphins stand for and their place in peoples lives.

I don't necessarily have to be a fan of the coaches. Who ever they bring in, I will support until they can no longer prove themselves. Shula was a legend. Cameron was terrible. Parcells/Ireland/Sparano are headed in the right direction. Same goes for players. Marino was great and the rest come and go. You have to trust Sparano after the accomplishments so far. I'll support all our good players but i'll rip the ones who need to improve. I don't have to like every move they make but I will at least give those players they bring in a chance first. Whatever, is best for the franchise is good enough for me.

It is great to be a Miami Dolphins fan. To go throw all thoughs tough seasons and it was all worth it becasue if it was'nt for all that hard ship winning probably would not feel so good.

Other than my family and friends I have one other love. That is the greatest team in the world...THE MIAMI DOLPHINS! Regardless of who is on the team or the record I have a passion, 1-15 7-9, or 14-2 I root for them with the same passion game in and game out. Doesn't matter who the coach, gm, QB or RB is. It's about the colors, history and identity of being a Dolphin fan. I thank my father(from miami) for the priviledge of raising me with the team being the sports franchise we cheered for.

  15. Bill Parcells is an amazing guy. He never ceases to amaze me and surpass my expectations. He took us from 1-15 to at least a 10 win season I'm guessing.

I think our team has a bright future.

Ironically, 7-9 would, in August had been a pipe dream for all of us, yet here were are at 7-5 and most all of us will be disappointed with a 7-9 record...

Somehow, I just can't imagine, even now, being 7-9 at the end of the month and being disappointed...but that's me...I've seen enough to know that this staff will continue to make good personnel decisions and that they know how to put those players into a position to be successful....something the last three regimes have been sorely lacking in...

I got so much "ribbing" last season when I'd wear my Dolphins gear out in public. Someone always felt the need to say something which I pretty much came to expect, but a true fan loves their team in good times and in bad. If someone would have told me that the team would have 7 wins by the end of November I probably would not have believed it....but I believe in now!!!! Go Fins!

Agreed, we are basically playing a "playoff" game this weekend and I'd much rather be talking about far-fetched playoff scenarios in December than who we're picking with our top 10 pick. This front office has more than exceeded our expectations and I can't wait to see Year 2 and 3

I always get flack when I wear my jerseys etc. But, I'm down here with Falcon fans and I don't think there's an afce fan any where near here.
None of the women I know talk football, so It gets pretty hard sometimes. Then, some of the men shove ne in my face.
I never guessed how many wins we'd have this year, I just always hoped for the best and we're getting darned good. I love it.

I was thinking 4-12 and another top 10 pick. I guess that makes me happy + 3.
