I didn't like that move. O'Neal was injured and Calderon was gimpy all season. The bench was nothing much. I thought he did exceptionally well with what he had.
Randolph's fit in pretty well. If only they can find consistency in the bench and SG spot, they might be able to prevent those close losses. Could be worse. I could be a Trojan or a Notre L......
Added that later. Because that's just beyond worse. Even worse than ND Lucky Charm Leprechauns. Edit: Just be glad I'm not a Trojan because they come up with worse than that one.
Can we stop the back and forth here fellas? Look we know laker and celtic fans like each other about as much as Red Sox fans and Yankee fans but this thread isnt going to be a back and forth of hateful jabs. I can assure you of that. Its also not going to be a back and forth of personal attacks. I can assure you of that too. Quit the BS and get back to basketball. And on the brightside the Knicks are another loss closer to a high draft pick sidekick for Lebron and Bosh
Uhhh yeah Rondo does keep getting better. Sick game tonight. First triple double by a guard with at least 13 rebounds and 17 assists since Magic Johnson in 1989. If he gets any better thats scary Big 4.
Theyve been getting consistency from Gordon. That kid is hoss deep in studlyville for defensive stats, 3's and points in fantasy basketball. What a FA add in a 16 team league!
Agreed. Let's bury the hatchet and all agree to attack Knicks fans. And as for that separate sentence...
Any reason why I was quoted there? Me in a post that gives props to a Celtic is like Boik in a post that calls Isiah Thomas the #1 GM of all-time and a Knick for life. Still think there's a ways to go before Gordon can really help the team. Certainly not helping in FG%.
Next Celtic or Laker fan to attack the other team isnt getting points..youre going to write a 5 page essay about what you LIKE about the other team. And im copying/pasting that junk in to word to make sure its 5 pages. Then youre getting points if its not. Im really not kidding. I didnt like spending the last half hour deleting that nonsense. Seriously, back to basketball!
Yeah I didnt mean to quote you. sorry. Only a crackhead would ever call Isiah the #1 GM of all time. Thats all there is to that. Gordon's FG% isnt too bad. As a starter its 45.8/4 games. As a Sub its 36.4/13 games. Its not hard to see why it looks bad. Hes been playing excellent the last 4 games as a starter averaging 17PPG, 3 3's. good %'s, 3 assists, 3 rebs, 3 steals and a block and a half per game. Thats pretty damn comparable to some bigger names.
Struggled a bit last 2 games though. And Denver's not exactly the pinnacle of defense either at the SG spot.
The Miami game he left with an ankle injury and hes been a solid 2nd half player the last few games. Seems it takes him about a half to really get going. The Dallas game wasnt his best but there are easier tasks on a bum ankle then chasing Jason Terry around and blocking 3 3's.
There ya go. Still, Clips have pretty much sucked at closing quarters and I wonder if Gordon's ability to play well more in the 3rd than 4th may be an cause.
But we can attack Knicks right? Just not a Celtics or Lakers team? I have a 5 page essay in Latin if you really want it. It's mostly but it does talk about the few good points about the Celtics. Seriously, finals week cannot end sooner... (not for me but it's just no fun when everyone else is gone studying)
Well lets see: Gallinari hurt Curry and Steph still here Wilson Chandler is "ok" Everyone else is an expiring contract and nothing more...except maybe Duhon. Isiah is still here. Duck Folan is still our owner... Q gets ejected on a night when we're already short handed and got blown out by the Cavs for the 2nd time in a week. Yeah, it cant get worse.
and then he will come back in the fourth quarter and totally go score crazy right??? Haven't we been here...before...?
D'Antoni resigns as Knicks head coach and Walsh resigns as Knicks GM, Isiah Thomas to assume both duties. That's when it's worse.
I thought this was extremely relevant to the discussion: ESPN Page 2 - Sports Guy: Rambling toward Week 14
whoever thinks Trevor Ariza is even in Pippen's league needs to stop watching basketball all together.
Fixed. I watched ariza for a couple of years and I know his game has evolved since then but his idea of an offensive move is a put-back or a fast-break layup. Its like playing 4 vs 5 in a half court set.
He's added 3 point shots to his resume. But with guys like Gasol, Bynum, Kobe, and Lamar, he doesn't need to shoot. But he needs to defend and that's what he's been doing.
Yes but even Laker fans have to goff when seeing his name and Pip's in the same sentence, thats just being unrealistic, atleast at this point in his career.
Dude, hes a very good defender and in the couple dozen games Ive seen over the last year + hes unqnestionably improved but he aint no scottie Pippen. Heck, offensively he could only get better from his days as a Knick.
I don't think I've ever put the two together in the same sentence. I might think of Ariza as a poor man's Pippen but certainly not in the same zip code. We have a right as fans to be enthusiastic about our team right now and there'll always be some that are overzealous and most of them post on the ESPN message boards (like the OMG BRETT FAVRE IS GOING TO GO 16-0 SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS JETS JETS JETS CHAD PENNINGTON HAS A CHEERLEADER ARM DOLPHINS ARE SOFT LIKE BEACH BALLS I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY NY JETS SCHOOL THOSE STUPID DOLPHINS AGAIN OMG ones). That happens with any team. I saw a similar anti-Laker post like that here...
I don't believe I nor anyone else that I know of on this forum or even on the Lakers forum I frequent have said that he's Scottie Pippen. He's getting his stuff most likely from ESPN posters. And we all know what level they are regardless of the team. Of course, some here would deny that Ariza's a good defender but oh well.
Aside from the fact hes a better actor then anyone at the Staples Center not named Nicholson, he just buried them for an NBA title. I dont think you would like Kobe too much if he was the biggest reason your team lost in the finals. On top of that it was Pierce who hit big shot, after big shot, after big shot, after big shot...see the trend? Also, Im pretty sure Pierce grew up a LAL fan in Inglewood Cali and just buried the team that he himself grew up watching.
Suns Say They Aren't Shopping Stoudemire Players Frustrated With Wittman Chandler Is A Keeper Jazz Hoping To Extend Coach Sloan Bulls Want More From Tyrus Thomas Heat Eyeing 2010 FA Class Pacers Granger Continues to Impress
I would still like Kobe if he continued to be a Laker. Pierce is not a Laker, in fact, he is a Celtic and thus a Boston sports player, therefore, I hate him...see the trend?
