I was watching T.V. and saw some commercials for new kids toys, and it made me think of the ones I had when I was younger. Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought this would be a fun topic. Tell us What your favorite toy was as a kid! Mine used to be power rangers, Ninja Turtles, Matchbox cars..
sharp, dangerous, herd culling pieces that cut, maimed, blinded, shot and choked.. they were the best.
Tinkertoys, Lincoln logs, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and then as a teenager, Pong and Atari. Damn I feel old now. Thanks.
lincoln logs, army men, bubble lawnmower, nerf guns and footballs, wiffle ball/bat, slippin slides, super nintendo, n64, laser tag guns, skate board
Nothing beat the original VOLTRON! Defender of the Universe! I was also big into He-Man, Thundercats, Silverhawks, M.A.S.K., Transformers, G.I. Joe, Bionic 6, and of course Super Nintendo/Gameboy/Sega Genesis.
Laser tag, that's awesome. We must have looked like idiots running around with those big helmets on shooting at eachother. Hmmm, I wonder if the parents still have them in the garage, I'm a better shot now
lol my set had vests.....so i didnt have to look like a storm trooper in my back yard......just an effeminate-robo cop vest-thingy....haha
Stompers, Nerf anything, He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers (not Go-Bots), Hot Wheels race tracks (that every now and then would make for a painful as he'll whipping stick that I would get beat with), Atari 2600, etc Posted via Mobile Device
mostly i played with my thundercats and tmnt action figures. also had the video games of course. and tonka trunks. real metal probably lead containing cut you and give you tetanus metal tonka trucks. also, my mom had this toy lightsaber that she kept hidden and wouldn't let me play with. i don't know why, it was so fun, it even had rumbling action like you were actually fighting the other guy!
I played with connects (I think they came out before legos), marbles, V-R Troopers, and MIRCO MACHINES!!!! I loved those...lol

Ahhh those were the good old days. As mentioned, MAN did that Hot Wheel track hurt like hell when used as a weapon...and the welts it left.... I also remember "Graduating" into Tyco Slot cars with the night lights. You could even buy little kits to better the gear ratio and better tires with more sticktion... Loved me some G I Joe with the Kung Fu grip
Shoot Mike, they couldn't go from 0-60 just like that after inventing the wheel. What did I play with? Lincoln logs, army men, he-man, transformers, voltron, matchbox cars, wrestler action figures, nintendo, street hockey (really anything sports related), micro machines, etc. But when I see the stuff that my nieces and nephews get I can't help but feel cheated. They make some cool things nowadays.
as a young 'gap I enjoyed: cap guns. video games. bikes. roller blades. used to play hockey (goalie) so i had a lot of equipment haha. legos. power rangers (the megazord). TMNT. badmitton/crocket (at my grandparents house).
My family was poor, so my mom bought me Transformers from the swap meet. She bought me Soundwave. Since it was fake, a kid from school tried to put a real transformer tape in it (I think it was a bird) and it got stuck. Yeah, I still remember this. First game console? Atari 2600. I mostly got hand me down toys.
i miss my big wheels..man the freedom i felt rolling down the street with my bud..when u saw us coming u lokcked up your dog(small ones of course) and your daughter at the same time lol. going downhill so fast you couldn't keep your feet on the pedals, fishtailing in the neighbors yard after a good rain, jumping the younger kid from down the road. oh the memories.
How could I forget Cap Guns. When I was 8 or so (5 years ago) I had this REALLY cool set of Fanner 50's. Man they were bad, and they used the red-tape caps...you know, the ones that we would pop with a penny and burn the crap out of our thumbs THEN about the time that Baretta came on the tube, this really cool gun called the Wasp came out. I think it was the first one to use the red-ring of plastic caps. Twice as loud, much more reliable and easier to load. Also had one of those pistols that shot the little round frisbees. I think it was Star-Trek themed. Man THAT was cool
Tiny Tears dolls. Have Gun Will Travel gun set complete with calling cards (tv show Pallidin) Annie Oakley gear. (loved her on tv) My peddle car and firetruck, I could remove the ladders. Some jerk actually stole my firetruck. I had special parking spots for my peddle cars and even washed and shined them. I can't stand thieves. Wouldn't it have been great to have saved them for my kids and grandgirls? Then at 9 I got my beautiful horse Lady. She wasn't a toy, but she was a good horse. Showed her for years and loved her alot. Ok, I'm done, getting melancoly here. (always am at Christmas time.)
Huge fan of Legos and GI Joe Also was into Transformers, TMNT, Atari/Nintendo, Xmen, Matchbox/Hot Wheels, Micro Machines, MASK, Laser Tag, toy guns in general, etc...
Let's see......my frisbee, my water wiggle, my slip n'slide, electric James Bond car, leggos, and my very favorite were my Hot Wheels. I used to play racer with them for hours with my cousin Mark. We used to have a blast. I got a football for Christmas in Dec 1969 (9 yrs old) and then got to play little league for one year the following spring. Man I wish I was a kid again...... Life was so simple back then.......I didn't worry about hurricanes, money or getting sick.
