This was part of Armando's big blog today. Dolphins In Depth Boy you wouldn't know it from Thomas' first time out. But once again, three coaching staffs in three years. And they're still talking about sitting him down. Interesting to say the least.
..although I believe Jason has made improvement in his game...I'd still like to kick Saban in the *** for picking 16th overall...And if I remember correctly he had the balls to hold out on us before signing...
Yea I mean at this rate he will be average at best. I don't want to call him a bust but when you are drafted that high you need to produce more. Truth be told though, he was drafted too high. Saban wanted Haloti Ngata but couldn't move up to get him. Then he reached and when you reach you make mistakes.
Allen has talent and makes plays. I believe it was the last Bills game where he forced a fumble late in the game when the Bills were driving. He should at least be used about 50% of the plays if the coaches are worried about his coverage skills. I just don't see why a guy that creates turnovers isn't out there at least some.
I think jason has the skills to make plays in the nfl... and that shows i think on the plays that he's made on the ball... but... i really dont see the great hype that there is in this kid. i want him to be great for us, i really do... but i just dont see it. sure he makes some big plays once in a while... but once in a while, just isnt good enough.... I dont know much about thomas... but if people(especially our coaches) are thinking he's better, then... who am i to disagree.
I saw nothing from Thomas that makes me think he is better than Allen. Allen gets criticism from a lot of people saying he isn't smart enough. Well, Thomas looked more clueless than Allen ever has on a few plays. I usually hate the phrases like "he just makes plays", but that mostly pertains to when the subject is QBs. In the case of DBs and Jason Allen I think it holds true. He simply finds the ball and makes things happen. For a secondary that doesn't create many turnovers and for a defense that in general doesn't rush the passer all that well you would think a guy like Allen would be a welcome addition for the secondary. So for the love of God, just put him on the field and quit messing with his head. If the coaching staff does that I highly doubt they will regret it any more than they will if they play Thomas in front of him.
Well one thing for sure, As questionable as both Allen and Thomas are, both are MUCH at CB's than AraMANdo's is a writer.
Jason Allen has a broken hand and if Tony really thought Joey was the better player then their would be no point in him dancing around the media like he did today. Say what you will about Jason Allen......... but the fact is he makes game changing plays in half the games he has started at FS or been the 3rd CB in, and i have yet to hear anybody call him " toast". I saw our coaching staff have Jason Allen play Moss one on one a'lot, and it's safe to say they would have never done that with Joey Thomas. Like i said Jason Allen has a BROKEN HAND that's why Thomas played last week.No story Here at all. Aramnndo is just showing why is the worst Miami beat writer ever!!!
I agree with the coaches, I saw better coverage skill from Thomas then Allen. Posted via Mobile Device
You mean you agree with some of the coaches..... If................. and that's a big " if " Aramnndo isn't talking sideways.
New idea: Look only at game film and ignore all practice reps..... then decide which player to start. I'm tired of good gameday players being sat down because they practice like crap, and being replaced by guys who practice great but look like Joey Thomas on game day.
OKay, maybe I am only tired of it happening with Jason Allen, specifically. And, by the way, if Thomas moves ahead of Jason Allen on the depth chart we darned well better cut him this offseason. We have no business hanging onto a $2-plus million DB who is behind Will Allen, Andre Goodman, Michael Lehan, and Joey Thomas on the depth chart. I think he can be a good player, but if they refuse to play him, then cut him loose. Put that money towards the free agency pot.
Everyone in the media has said that they don't hear any thing coming out of Miami. So i find it real hard some of the coaches are now talking to Aramnndo, when they have not been talking to anyone. The only media leaker so far has been Bill Parcells, and Jason Cole.So if Aramnndo story is true at all we will have some new coaches very soon. That's why i think their is no truth to the story at all.The BIG news here is Aramnndo just put some coaches livelihood on line. If we don't have some new coaches by Monday then this story is BUNK just like Aramnndo.
The guy up top loves to send mixed signals and Mando falls for it every time doesn't he? Some coaches think Thomas is better yeah that's why it took a broken hand on Allen for him to start right???????? Isn't it convenient if the bills don't know who is going to start there?
Arm reaching for hits again. He does this every week and every week someone throws up a post about his bs.
And I will continue posting anything I feel is worthy of discussion, regardless of who wrote it. Thanks
Well if Armando thought the coaches liked Thomas over Allen, I wonder if he writes this week that they must think Nathan Jones is a future Hall of Famer...
As much as i don't like Armando he does give us something to talk about.Just like Omar " but i love that guy lol" and all the other guys talking fin's. We should all be very happy that our team is covered so well, by some many people.
I feel more Beck talk coming from Armando, i'm sure next camp he'll be the only one talking about Beck having a better camp then the Chad's.
