It was also your use of "Thug U" earlier in the thread. That I felt was a cheap-shot at young men that don't deserve that label. I wish you would closely examine the present Hurricane players, and their records and you would see most of them are clean, and many of them were outstanding students many times in very untenable life situations. They have overcome much hardship, poverty and very difficult life situations, to become hard-working and successful college student-athletes. Miami has a 70%+ football players graduation rate, at a school ranked by US News & World Report as the # 51 school in the nation, ahead Syracuse at # 53, Ohio St at # 56 and Florida State at # 102 !
Rumors Intensify: Weis Out, Cincinnati's Kelly In. ProFootballTalk.com - WEIS FIRING RUMORS INTENSIFY
They were just discussing Kelly on gameday but I missed most of it. The jist was he is pretty dang good, getting the most from his kids. Charlie might be a great recruiter, but he and his staff don't seem to be able to get top notch play from their top notch guys. The way his underclassmen were prepared for this season was horrid.
If that's true, then the U$C loss was the nail in the coffin. Here's hoping Used Sex Condoms get complacent after this win and choke next week.
I was disappointed that USC fans werent smart enough to be prepared with some chants to taunt Weis at that game. I mean come on, the guy's getting canned and your team is putting the final nail in his coffin and you get one small chant going in the 4th quarter? Shameful lol.
Why would you be disappointed? You're putting U$C and smart together in a sentence. It should've been obvious.
I only posted something that would be of interest to Notre Lame fans. You then had to invoke the "thug" word, which is widely used as a euphemism for the "n" word these days. The name calling started with you. Don't try to change history, anyone that wants to can go back and look at the posts.
lol, you didnt just post something that would be of interest to ND fans, please. You followed it up w/ Notre Lamers (worse insult of a team perhaps ever btw, get new material) and then continued w/ the arrogant stuff and Nosepicker Holtz (we truly are stuck in the 2nd grade it would seem). And then you ended with a very mature, good luck with the buyout...NOT!. Yes, you were simply posting something that was of interest to ND fans Your calling ND fans arrogant is what brought up the Thug U comment. And Thug is a widely used euphemism for the "n" word in your mind only. My first "insult" was the Catholics v Convicts, which I didnt mean to antagonize nor to insult anyone as I've explained. You could have done the mature thing and simply brought up your grievance in the U thread and I could have explained that, and apologized for any miscommunication. So the first one to enter a thread w/ the intent to insult was you. That isnt changing history, it's accurately reading it.
Kelly has said he's staying at Cincinnati and the Irish will pursue Meyer if or when Weis is fired. This according to Mike & Mike In the Morning.
I'd be kind of surprised if Kelly didnt change his mind if ND,or some other big program, approached him. I really cant see Meyer leaving Florida yet, but i guess we'll see what happens. I'm actually starting to lose my confidence in the idea that Weis will be fired. I still think he will, but I'm not quite as sure as I was Saturday.
I dont know yet. I'll tell you if it's good move or not this time next year I am surprised though. It's a different AD/school Pres than the one that fired Willingham, I suppose they can use that as cover for not following the trend firing him could have set. However, the racism cries will get louder now I fear.
This is definitely going to be interesting. He better figure out a way to shape up the coaching staff or something because it hasn't been working lol.
Article was written before they rumor of Weis' return, lays out the arguments for and against keeping him. Seems pretty accurate to me. Scout.com: Is There Anybody Out There?
Not sure I want to play OSU, but I havent seen much of them. Sucks for Pitt, but them getting screwed doesnt bother me Wonder what bowl ND gets if Rutgers beats Louisville?
Im not entirely upset with giving him another year. Let him recruit some more talent, and perhaps pass it off to a coach and who can do a better job. Meyer isnt ready to leave UF yet anyway, and I dont like the idea of hoping Brian Kelley or the Boise St. coach are for real.
GO RUTGERS!!!!!! I know Teel and his family, in fact worked with his mom today (she has been on tv a few times tonight) Very happy for Mike!!!
I crave the ole days when there was half(# guess)the amount of bowl games. So when you went, you made it on your record. So many bowls these days with watered down talent. I'm a ND fan myself and they do not deserve a bowl this year(IMO). This could continue there record chasing bowl game results. Just to bad it's on the "L" side. Don 't get me wrong, if they do get into a bowl I too will cheer them on and wake up the echo's. On the Charlie thing...If you go by past records of other coaches, Davie,Ty,etc... He should've been canned. GO IRISH!
ND to the Hawaii Bowl. Better than the Texas Bowl because I can at least watch this game. Not sure I'll want to though...maybe it'll help with recruiting Manti South Bend Tribune: Irish headed to Hawaii Bowl
Not sure if I'm excited for tonight or terrified lol. The thought of 10 in a row makes me want to kick my dog. Ugh, please just win! Michael Floyd and Brian Smith will both be back for the game, so at least both sides of the ball get a bit of a spark. Oh, and Mike Haywood our inept offensive coordinator (though how much he actually did I'm not sure) got the head coaching job at Miami (OH). Hopefully Weis brings someone in who is somewhat innovative and can help the offensive players develop. I know a lot of people want Tom Clements, but I think he was mad Weis got the head coaching job over him so not sure that'll happen. Good article on Mo Crum. One of the few older players who'll be missed. http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081224/SPORTS13/812240397/1001/Sports
What a first half! Clausen with 300 passing yards, 3 TD's. He should only have 1 incomplete pass too, the other two were drops. Nice to see the team come out ready to play. Pour it on in the second half and get this monkey off our backs!
Announcers kept saying this may be Clausen's coming of age. I know what you want Don, but whatcha think. Coming of age? Or product of the competition? He made some nice throws.
I'm not sure. He made some throws that were pretty nice. That TD to Tate in the left corner of the end zone was absolutely perfect. His deep ball looked better than usual too. He has a strong arm, and showed some nice touch and accuracy tonight. Whether it was a product of a poor Hawaii D, or a sign of things to come I'm not sure, but I'll take it lol. This team is young, I hope this was a sign of things to come. Either way at least the monkey is finally off our backs.
Hey...the Irish won a bowl game, congrats ND fans. Hopefully the Phins can complete a nice week for ya.
Wasnt sure I liked the names on the back of the jerseys, but if it's a Parseghian throwback I can get behind it.
Article also talks about the return of Darrin Walls next season. Will be a a major boost to the secondary getting him back. South Bend Tribune: Walls stays in touch And I saw this article a while ago, figured I'd post it now...Florida fans will disagree lol He said this before Clausen went out and embarrassed them too. South Bend Tribune: QBs heading in different directions
