I thought the jokes in Tropic Thunder were way too predictable. I felt like I could've written funnier stuff. Ben Stiller never takes any real chances. I did like the Tom Cruise scenes though.

Step Brothers was stupid and hilarious.

I think the budget for the whole movie was less than $10million. There are, like, 10 actors in the whole film! Its basically Will Ferrell and Reilly messing around, acting like morons for 90 minutes. I laughed the whole time.

As for Tropic Thunder, I liked it the first time I saw it...when it was called "The Three Amigos"!

The extras on the DVD for step brothers is great the music video for "boats and ho's" is hilarious.

I was afraid of that. When I saw it wasn't Thomas Jane playing Castle, I was not pleased. He did a great job in the 1st movie.

In Bruges. Remarkable, Oscar-worthy acting and writing. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Why do I sometimes let my wife pick the movie, oh yeah, that compromise crap. Predictable romantic comedy with some funny parts, mostly just meh.

I just picked up the Dark Knight on DVD. I had seen it already but wanted to watch the special features before seeing it again. Alas there were none. WTF?! Tacky move.

Ray Liotta movie A Slow Burn - much much better than I was expecting. I actually liked it quite a bit. Having no expectations I'm sure helped, so you're all screwed now if you see it lol.

I picked up Step Brothers on Blu Ray. It was pretty funny.

"So, what do you do Dale?"

    "I manage a baseball team."

    "Oh, Little League?"

    "Fantasy."

I think that women have suddenly decided that Anne Hathaway is beautiful, but I just don't get it. However her performance here is outstanding. It's nothing special as a movie, simply a indie family drama. But the performances Jonathan Demme gets out of the actors here is worth checking out.

    Step Brothers 9/10
Funniest movie I've seen this year. Good to see Ferrell back to form. I was disappointed in his "sports-trilogy" Semi-Pro, Talladega Nights, and Blades of Glory. But I thought this was pitch perfect.

    Frost/Nixon 8.5/10
Another movie that is all about the performances. Relatively apolitical drama that is quite entertaining and very funny in parts. Certainly a lot more fun the more you know about Watergate and Nixon. But the film does a good job at summarizing what you need to know in order to set up all the drama appropriately. The two actors reprise roles they started on stage in the original play. And that level of inhabiting a role really shows.

I was about to put you on my 'ignore' list.

I may rent the unrated version and give it another whirl just to see if I was too harsh, or I may just rub my eyeballs against a cheesegrater for 96 minutes. I can't decide.

Goya's Ghosts - 7/10....decent flick about the painter Francisco Goya (Javier Bardem) and his muse (Natalie Portman) during the Spanish Inquisition, when she is arrested for heresy by the church.

The sad part is that instead of realizing I had initially spellled heresy, hersey...I thought you were trying to make the connection of Goya to Godiva...:pity:

Day the Earth Stood Still -- Not bad, but I wasn't expecting much.

Quantum of Solace -- Daniel Craig has a firm grip on the Bond character. I liked Casino Royale better, but I'd like to try watching the two back to back, as it's really one continuous story. Tons of action.

Bolt -- Cute. That's about it.

    That's a reach.

Both Bond films were fantastic and I can't wait for the DVD two pack that will come out for the re-birth of this franchise.

It felt like the movie never got going. There was the introduction and then the ending. Its like writing an essay without the body paragraphs.

I saw the new Indiana Jones. I thought the acting was good, but the story was just far beyond ridiculous. I almost kicked my TV when I saw an alien in the movie at the end.
