I was watching the game today. If you protect Culpepper, that guy can really chuck it. Beautiful throw to Calvin Johnson on that 84 yarder.

Detriot about to do what the Dolphins couldn't do..?

The Lions are on the verge of going 0-14 in a single season and possibly 0-16, and are on the verge of tying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1976 season record, and they might do what the Dolphins couldn't do in 2007, and that's lose every single game this season, joining the Loserrville, Town POP -1.

Do you guys think it will happen.....?

I certainly hope not. We as Dolphins fans should understand the pain Lions fans are going through this season. It would be a damned shame to see them go 0-16. No one deserves to lose them all.

I was saying the same thing to my Nephew yesterday afternoon. I feel bad for the team and their fans, but I really see them losing the next 3 games.

i feel bad for the fans, but everyone else in that organization, with the exception of Calvin Johnson, deserves this.

it took wayyy to long to get rid of millen for starters.

I think its going to happen. I thought if they won at all this year, it would have been last week against the vikes... Its a shame, I feel bad for Marinelli. He's taking alot of crap from the detroit media, I dont recall Cameron dealing with half the crap Marinelli has had thrown at him.

Wouldnt that be something though, the lions go 4 and 0 in the preseason, then 0 and 16 in the regular... surely a first.

Honestly the Lions fans I know don't seem to care. They've lost so much the last decade their response is 'Who cares if we lose 15 games or lose all 16? We still suck.'

I understand rooting against an AFC East rival to lose but there is nothing but pouring salt into a wound to enjoy the notion of any fan having to suffer through what we almost did last season.

There are a lot of die hard Lion fans out there that are nothing but great sports and they can't even say they have their past to fall back on so we shouldn't rub their present in too much.

I recall when John McKay was once asked about his teams execution, and he replied by saying, I'm all for it. At least Coach McKay kept a sense of humor.

So they fired Matt Millen and they still can't win.

I am gonna say odds say it wont happen.

It's really hard to lose them all and its hard to win them all....

They fired him but his mark is still left on the team. Just look at the roster he assembled, their team lacks talent. They have a couple guys, here and there, who can play but the majority of the roster is below average-to-average.

thats the only game i think they have any shot of chance to win in. Peyton Manning and CO. is going to destroy detriot and Brees is going to pass for 5,085 yards in the first half that game alone.

I sense that they will lose out. The judge in Minnesota that delayed the suspension the pair of defensive tackles named Williams, probably made the difference in preventing Detroit's best chance to get a win.

I can't feel sorry for this franchise at all.

This organization has such a long standing tradition of ineptitude they pretty much deserve this distinction. The Bucs will enjoy not being the only one.

    The fans didn't do anything.

It's the organizations record and they've earned every loss over the years with consistent mismanagement for Decades. If any organization actually deserves this distinction it's the Detroit Lions franchise.

The fans will get over it, hell they're used to it.
They've got the Pistons and the Red Wings to turn to.

I'm pretty sure if the Williams Wall wasn't playing, that QB Sneak by Culpepper on 4th and 1 on Minnesota's 6 yard line would have been successful... Then we might be talking how the Lions won't be the first ever 0-16 team.

I must be the only one outside of vikings fans to think the lions would not beat them. I am not really sure where the vikes earned the reputation that they were beatable by the worst team in the league - Williams's or no. I would say the Pack game would be winnable but only because the Pack don't seem to have the same gusto they exhibited earlier in the season and may be losing steam. But when it comes down to it I have my doubts that the lions can win any, they just don't seem to have the heart.

I kinda see this as a "tough love" situation.

The Lions have been so bad for so many years that unless they lose out, there is going to be no real change for the better. The fans need to see rock bottom.

Might sound cruel, but although I feel bad for the fans and a few of the players (definitely not the organization), I just want to live to see it happen. I really can't see Detroit winning @ IND, NO, or @ GB. I just don't see it. On the other hand, if you own any offensive players in fantasy football from those three teams, enjoy!

You could have thrown darts at the Lions draft boards the past few years and gotten better results then Millen.
Anyone on this site could have done at least as "good" a job, most of us better. Some of us, like the draft gurus, could have done much better.
Thats just insane, you cant win and have such a heinous track record. For all our recent drafting woes, the Lions make us look like geniuses.

Millen was the first step, but that team needs an absolute gutting at least on the scale of our own. Perversely, like us, this horrific season may just be the catalyst for change needed to slap some reality into them and have them start assembling the needed pieces.

The need a whole new front office and coaching staff that have a clue for starters, then they need to make better choices in the daft and with FAs. I can see them renovating a massive part of their roster similar to what we did. God knows they need it.

Do unto others as they would have done to you. Or something like that ;)

You think anyone would have shown us mercy if Camarillo doesn't catch that TD or Balti doesn't miss the FG? Hell no. So, I don't really care if they go 0-16. We almost did and everyone was making fun of us.

Tampa went winless. They're fine now. They (Detroit Fans) will live. It might be a good thing. Cause a shakeup

If you don't think 1-15 will cause a shakeup see this years Dolphins.

When is it a matter of mercy? It's a matter of being a good sport and hoping for some joy in the life of another sports teams fans.

Besides, I hope they win at least one so that *** face **** munch Jim Rome won't get what he wants.

1-15 on the Dolphins is NOT the same as 1-15 on the lions.

No comparison at all. Lions are used to being in the gutter.

the only place I fault the fans in all of this for the lions is that they still showed up, they packed the place week in and week out for the last 5-6 years, even when the team was brutally awful. Sure it shows alot of "fanhood" But do you really think the ford family cared about who was the coach, or who was the GM, he had a new stadium, that was packed to the rafters week after week. Now that people have finally woken up, and stopped caring. Ownership has finally opened its eyes to the problems they have created, realized people finally dont care, and finally are not buying up the tickets, so now they realize they need to spend money, to make money again. So, yes its ownerships fault, no doubt. Had the fans not been so blind to it all, and stopped showing up long ago, Mr. Ford probably would have realized the situation earlier, and maybe not given Millen that contract extension a bit ago and got rid of him then. The lions have some pretty dedicated fans there, Ive been to ford field for many games, they for the most part know their stuff... but I just dont understand why they kept showing up until this year. They were plenty awful prior to that, and thats the easiest way it seems in the league to generate change. Affect the bottom line of the team, and the owner will take notice (you hope) and make changes... looks like they are finally going to get that in detroit this year.

Another loss, but they are getting close.

I think they have a shot at beating either/both New Orleans or Green Bay. GB in particular is playing poorly right now and finding ways to blow games late and having defensive collapses.

Still, I think the lions pull the 0fer. CJ is a total stud though, guy can flat out catch the ball, may be a top 5 reciever in the league.

The Lions are somewhat lucky because their next 2 games are against opponents who have nothing to play for. If you bet, take whatever points the Lions get these next few weeks because teams this desperate more often than not turn into covering machines.

    Well away from here
Looking at how badly the Ford (the company, is run) is there any wonder nowadays as to why Matt Millen was allowed to stay on so long? Seriously?

This thing is a debacle that might even scare Parcells away - and he loves these type of prejects.
