I have taken a look at the last remaining match ups of the season and here are my predictions for the end of season results.

    AFC East
Dolphins 11-5 (week 17 will be the difference and could go either way)
    Jets 10-6
    Pats 9-7
    Bills 9-7

    AFC North
    Steelers 12-4
    Ravens 8-8
    Browns 5-11
    Bengals 1-15

    AFC South
    Titans 14-2
    Colts 11-5
    Jags 7-9
    Texans 5-11

    AFC West
    Chargers 7-9
    Broncos 7-9
    Chiefs 3-13
    Raiders 2-14

    Here are the seeds:
    1st Titans
    2nd Steelers
    3rd Dolphins
    4th Chargers
    5th Colts
    6th Jets

With this scenario the Chargers would host the Colts and the Dolphins would host the Jets. That would make week 17 at the Jets (possibly in the snow) an extremely important game because the winner of that game would have home field for the wild card game.

    Lets see your predictions.

Im gonna say we finish with 10 wins. I think TN will hit a snag, but they are clearly the best team in the AFC. It also appears Indy is hitting their stride on offense.

That AFC west is like the NL West from a couple years ago. Just a horrid division.

That's...overly optimistic, to put it generously.

11-5 for us is very doubtful. We've got an easier schedule, but we don't do well against bad teams. I still say we fall just short of the playoffs, but if we squeak in as a wildcard, I wouldn't be shocked.

I would love it if this were to happen. I think you are also being a little overly optimistic with the Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4?).....they have a killer schedule and Roethlisberger is banged up.

The Steelers are 6-3 and would have to go 6-1 the rest of the way against:

    San Diego
    Cincy
    New England
    Dallas
    Baltimore
    Tenn
    Cleveland

Many said that it would be overly optimistic to say we would win more than 5 at the beginning of the year. What are your predictions.

Leftwitch should have started against Indy. Ben only had one day of practice. Lebouex's (sp?) defense is one of the best and I don't see Peyton Manning on any of those aforementioned teams rosters.

Again these are just my predictions based on the team schedules. All in fun. I would love to hear all of your predictions.

Hey...I like the 11-5 record....Im all for it. Its very possible as well....hell...90% of everyone didnt think 5-4 at this point was realistic....and that THAT was WAY OPTIMISTIC....guess what...5-4 here we are. We did that...why cant we go 11-5?

For us? Nine wins would be the very most I think we could get. More likely, 8-8.

Although 11-5 is possible, the way it appears that we have played down to the competition, it is going to come in a bite us sooner or later. This team and staff, need to develope the killer instinct. Although I did not see the game yesterday, from all the written accounts, it seems this team kinda went into cruise control in execution and play calling when we got up 14 - 0 early in the game. Can't ever do that. Look at the Jets, they were up 17 - 0 in the first quarter and the put up 23 more in the 2nd qtr. Yeah they had an int and 2 fumble recoveries but they never let up and kept going after the points. Again I did not see our game but did we do that or did we get conservative?

Having said that, I think 10-6 is very obtainable. I also think the last game at NY will be for at least 1 team (or both) to make the playoffs, perhaps either team goes in with a win. Maybe, dare I say, the Division Crown!!!

So you think the Dolphins will go 5-1 the rest of the way, with the Steelers going 6-1, the Ravens 2-5, the Broncos 2-4, the Raiders 0-7 and the Bengals 0-6? None of those to me seem likely

Give or take a game for each yes.

Here are the Ravens opponents in the next 7 games Giants, Eagles, Bengals, Redskins, Steelers, Cowboys and Jaguars. Yes I believe they will go 2-5 in the next 7 games. Their Bubble is about to burst.

Pittsburgh is a very well coached team that made a bad decision in not going with Leftwich against the Colts. They may not go 6-1 but they could.

As far as the Raiders and Bengals go yes. And the Broncos still cant stop anyone on Defense.

My predictions are just as likely to happen than not, which is why it is called a prediction not a fact. I went through each teams schedules at this point of the season and made a 7 week prediction based on how the teams are performing now.

Nice job overall. I feel like baltimore will finish better than that as will whoever wins the west. Im not sold on us being the division winner either. We'll see how it goes.

If Baltimore beats the Giants this Sunday then they may very well be a contender. If not I say they end up 8-8 because of their very tough schedule.

11-5 is very obtainable. But so is 12-4. We could easily run the table for the rest of the season. This team has a fighting chance against every team in the NFL. They have proved it. Will we do it? That's something we'll have to wait and see. Go Phins.

A fighting chance is the hope of this team and with that fighting chance we have hungry players and great leadership and that to me equals success at any level. I love where this team is at and our chance at making the push for the post season.

This whole organization believes they can do it. Lets see if it produces results.

We could have three teams tied at 10-6 in the division. I think Miami will be ok as long as they just focus on one team at a time.

I think the Jets are actually a really good football team. I think we can beat them, but I just don't see us ending up in the playoffs this year. I hope I am wrong however.

  20. Bottom line, overly optimistic or not, the afc east is ours to lose and nobody elses. If we win the rest of our games we win the division regardless of what any of the other teams do.

Just revisiting this thread one month later and it seems to be panning out close to what I predicted. Who would have thought that we would be in this spot coming into the last 2 weeks of the regular season? Funny to look back and re read some posts.

The great thing is that here in Colorado most of the sport's writers were already assuming the Broncos had the AFC West wrapped up, but now there is a decent chance that the Broncos and Chargers could be playing in Week 17 for the AFC West title. I think the Broncos have to lose Sunday and the Chargers win, and then the Week 17 Chargers-Broncos winner is in and the other is out.

Yea, I was just thinking how close your calls were. The only problem is that the Ravens are screwing up our wildcard hopes at the moment. They have to lose both of their last 2 so we could get in, as well as the patriots losing.

It would be weird to play the jets 2 games in a row, but I'm all for that.

That is correct. If Denver loses on Sunday to the Bills and the Chargers beat the Bucs then the division will be on the line week 17. The Chargers have a shot at winning the division with an 8-8 record.:pity:

Well maybe since we got slighted in the pro-Bowl, it will motivate this team these next 2 games, especially the Jets game.

I do not like how we played since that Patriots game and we can barely beat 2 teams we should have easily put away.

We should be peaking and getting better at this point of the season, and I am not seeing that.

I was expecting a lot more from our running game this season and I have been disappointed.

I hope we go 11-5, but I am predicting both the Patriots and the Jets will lose next weekend and we will beat the Chiefs.

And Chad Pennington will be playing at home and knows that stadium and may have some secret supporters up there..... :)

I predicted a 9-7 season from the start.....

    d-1

Ok I don't know what you mean by not doing well with bad teams???

I guess being 6-0 against loosing teams is not good enough???

Now the Jets have a 5-3 record...maybe you thinking about them???

I am not picking on you but I keep reading posts like these for the last 6 weeks or so...

So Indi sqeaks by SD and Cleveland a few weeks ago, and they have had a very frustrating season of their own...

Tennesse only score 12 points last week, against a Houston team that has allowed 20 points avg the last 4 weeks...

The Jets...well they would have been 0-3 over the last 3 weeks, if not for a boneheaded play call by the Bills coaching staff...

Just remember we 3-0 over the last 3 weeks...and 7-1 over the last 8...

I can see you easily going 10-6 and possibly 11-5. My beloved Chiefs are currently sporting the worst defense in the league and an offense that can only play one half of football, and the Jets, even with Favre, are beatable.

Hey Chiefster Welcome to the Boards...

    Questions:

I know that the Chiefs still put out a decent passing spread Offense. How will the cold weather affect them, and will they need to rely more on their run game?

How has their run game been with good ole Larry?

    Thanks.

I would look for one or two turnovers in the passing game, but I think it will have more success then failure; it'll be those one or two turnovers that will affect the flow of momentum and probably the outcome. Of course I'm no expert. :D

Larry has had a decent year relatively speaking, but over all has not earned his pay check.

believe or not our biggest weakness is still our secondary, even though they have played better over the last 3 games. The last game against the 9rs exploited them again. Good to have a bend, bend, bend, but no TDs...

Hope they can hold out for a few more games...

If your CB's / line backers account for Gonzo and Bowe then I think you'll be fine. Bowe's a good receiver but has not been the sure hands player I expected him to be, as evidenced in last Sundays onside kick coverage he failed to provide. What you're receivers will want to look out for is the hit after the catch; Pollard and Flours, whose physical play is much better then their ability to cover, can knock a receiver going up for the catch into the middle of next week. Other then that our defense is about the most ineffective I've ever seen, although Tamba Hali and Tank did step up their game Sunday.

If the Dolphins win the division, that wouldn't be a wild card team. They'd have a first round bye.

Well, if the Dolphins win out and go 11-5, then they'd have a chance at the first round bye but I highly doubt it since Tennessee already has 12 wins and the Steelers have 11. That'd make us more than likely to go to the Wild Card game as the division winner (hence the home field advantage), and not the wild card winner.

Pretty close prediction here. I didn't think the Ravens were going to finish as hot as they did and I also didn't think the Jets were going to implode like they did.

Anyways congratulations Miami Dolphins!!!! Lets get ready to stop the Ravens run and put pressure on the rookie QB in the 1st Home playoff game since we had Jay Fiedler!
