Its not breaking news, he said that maybe he has lost arm strength compared to his past. He was asked why he under threw that pass that was an INT in the Bills game, and he said maybe my arm is not as strong as it use to be, than he said, I just under threw it.

And he has gotten injured a few times this year, his line has been so-so at pass protecting.

Smoke and mirrors. Mangini taking a play from the Belichik playbook. Brady was on the Injury Report for 2 years straight

It's not breaking news because it's apparently been rumored since Week 7. ;)

Here's a piece from the original article.

Aging QB Brett Favre wearing down near end of Jets' season

    Let's hope he's indeed a shot QB.

I live 20 minutes from the stadium, nobody is talking about an injured arm here.

Did anyone see Mannings passes in that stadium a few weeks ago, its not an easy stadium to throw deep in.

He is banged up, but talk here is more his ankle, nothing about his arm being hurt.

    Here is Farve's quote

"I underthrew it," said Favre, the all-time NFL leader in touchdown passes. "It was third and long and, to be quite honest, I was thinking they'd play Cover 2. ... I really was thinking check-down, and they played single safety. So that gives you an opportunity based on how far off they are to take a shot. Brian Daboll, our quarterbacks coach, comes to the sidelines and was going crazy, as I would do, too, if I was a quarterbacks coach, but I said, 'I had him. I underthrew it.'

"Maybe I don't have the arm I once had, I don't know," Favre added.

There is a reason why the Packers were done with him.He is not the same player anymore and maybe he is finally beginning to see that.

I doubt he plays out his contract.

sweet.. they threw away Pennington for favray, and now the geezer is breaking down.. sweet

Tell me, could it get any better than not only beating the jets, but beating them because of favrays mistakes..

We should sell out the house to blitz him EARLY.. bang his tired azz around right off the bat, and refresh all the dings and dents that haven't healed. Make him WANT the season to be over.. hell, I hope we beat him up so bad he retires again.

    Favre's always thrown INT's.

It's what he does to you after those mistakes that make him what he is.
I think he's just fine personally.

I think it could be smoke and mirrors but he is 2,000 years old so that may be it too.

Either way I hope we stomp their *** in the meadowlands.

OK, if I've done this right it certainly shows his production going into the tank.

    Games 1-7
    161-235 for 1611 yards 15 TD, 11 Int, Sacked 16 times.

    Games 8-14
    144-216 for 1441 yards 6 TD, 6 Int, Sacked 10 times.

Take that 6 Td, 1 Int game out and he has 15 TD, 16 INT - Tell me THAT should go to the pro-bowl over Pennington - MY ***!

All of that shows signs of a tired arm to me.

Now if Seattle being fired up over Holmgren's last home game bangs the crap out of him then we get him at probably his lowest physical point of the season in week 17 the defense has to step up and knock his dick in the dirt.

Interesting. Let's remember, though, that during Marino's last year, he was capable of producing a great game about every 3 or 4 games. Other than that, honestly, he was mediocre, at best. Let's hope Favre doesn't muster his last "great" game against us.

Stack the line against Jones, and bring the heat on Favre and put him down. Jam the recievers at the line, and give no quarter.
Offensively, double Jenkins and push him back into the LBs and let R&R take it right up the middle over and over.

Winning the next two games would be an incredible redemption over the last few years.

Half of that will work, half of it won't.

Offense: Run behind Long and Carey and beat Ellis and Coleman to the last inch of their endurance. Tire out the OLBs by constantly putting them in coverage and running at them. By the fourth quarter they'll be tired and Kris Jenkins will have effectively been negated. Use the middle of the field utilizing Ronnie Brown on screen passes till the Jets cry. Hit the TEs as we did last time and then throw a play to the WRs to keep them honest.

On defense: Stop Thomas Jones. Stop Thomas Jones. Stop Leon Washington. Don't give Favre a running game to work with. Then attack him with safety blitzes, corner blitzes, a million disguised blitzes.

If Seattle can give the Pats a run for their money then they have a good shot to play spoiler.
