I don't want to start this debate here but I'm going to say it - that picture alone should make people want to outlaw any late term abortion.

I think any abortion you're killing a child but I still think that it's a choice that I can't even fathom because it's one I'll never have to make so I'm pro choice.

Yeah late term abortions seems foolish to me (a little late in the game to make the decision I think as you should know immediately or at least it shouldn't take months). However I know that isn't the point of the thread so I'll leave it there.

Why? It's inconclusive. Everyone involved in this story could have an agenda, which makes it hard to believe one side or another.

Corner of the eye huh? How reliable is that. Seems like a story aimed at getting people to think emotionally rather than logically.

If you've ever experienced anything like that, or have held a stillborn, I don't think there'd be any question as to how you'd feel about the issue.

I dont really understand this approach though. If you dont believe you are killing a child then you can make an argument for abortion, but once you believe that it IS indeed a child then how is killing it not murder? And how would it be different then killing a 1 year old because you just dont want to be a mom anymore and you are too busy with work ect to have a child?

i think he's saying it's a choice he wouldn't want to have to make, and by being pro-life, he'd be 'making the choice' for the women with the babies. and he doesn't want to do that... i think. correct me if i took that the wrong way though bro

Right, but if you admit that you are killing a child then how is it anything but murder?

Almost all pro choice arguments are made on the premise that you are killing a fetus NOT a child, baby, or any other word used to describe what we would normally consider a human being.... Because once you give it human status the laws of normal people apply and you cant kill it without it being murder, no matter how inconvenient or unwanted it may be.

And I too first though this thread was about a unicorn.

Woah one of the few times I've agreed with 117 on an issue like this.

If you don't want the child give it to an adoption agency, maybe it will have a rough life but at the very least it will have a chance. Abortion isn't just about killing a child, you're also killing possibilities for our species as a whole.

Pretty sure anything goes in the Lounge. Didn't realize talking about holding a stillborn, which I did last Christmas, didn't make the cut.

If you actually care about something being done about a thread, report it, rather than acting hollier-than-thou.

If it continues this track, we'll move it on preference, not because it's required.

My grandma had trouble conceiving for a period in her life and experienced a couple still births. Even with that experience she doesnt see this issue as I believe you're suggesting she should. I would actually have never equated the two experiences until you brought it up tbh. A still born baby at 9 months vs a clump of cells at a couple weeks isnt the same thing in many peoples eyes; and it's why the feeling you have in one situation doesnt affect your outlook in the other.

    Sorry for your experience though.

My mom gave birth to a still born. My baby brother. I was a premie by a month. Him, by two. Two months was too much back then I guess.

She was devastated though. Had her tubes tied right after.

My stance on everything is, I'm pro-life. As in, Me. What my neighbors do, well that's just up to them I guess. Everyone agrees murder is bad, but not everyone agrees abortion is murder. I can't force my views on someone else. It'll never ever work.
