The Dolphins didn’t really expect Chad Pennington to play this well. Hopeful, certainly, but optimism rarely manifests into reality so fortuitously. When Miami signed Pennington upon his release from the Jets, it inked him to a two-year deal teeming with incentives it figured he’d be hard-pressed to meet. Furthermore, there was more than a fleeting notion that he wouldn’t be around to see the second half of the agreement. The thought process was this: Let Pennington assume the offensive reins, give the team in transition some veteran stability as rookie Chad Henne learns the ropes, and turn the offense over to Henne toward the end of the season.

What a great problem to have. No one knew he'd end up playing like this. You have to think the Jets have a bad taste in their mouth, I mean they didn't even try to trade him for anything and look at the year he's having.

Without a doubt, has to go down as one of the top off-season aquisitions for any team this year.
The fact that he cost us NOTHING and brings so much obviously makes it more impressive.

Don't overlook the speculation about Henning sticking around as well. That's almost as exciting.

    Right!

Just let that role around again: HE COST US NOTHING. We got him from our biggest and most hated rival...AND HE COST US NOTHING!

Frankly, I can't get over that.

My expectations were different. CP has exceeded my expectations. I thought he would have about an 85 QBR and would be our QB for two seasons. I didn't expect to see Henne or Beck unless CP was injured. I was worried about his injury history.

Throw me into the group that thought he would be injured by week 10.

how do you guys find Henning coming back exciting? is my sarcasm meter broken? I would prefer henning hand over the reins over to someone younger. henning does deserve credit for our success but at times, its dull and he likes to be very cute with the play calling.

How did you type that sentence without your head blowing up? It's like saying, "Her problem is she's ugly at times, and she's hot."

I think his quote goes more to "she is ugly as hell but occasionally the bag over the head works".

Henning is ok, doesn't inspire me too much but if we can keep the youngsters under him to groom as future OC then maybe I can live with it.

This team still lacks Offensive talent, can;t blame Henning for being dull at times...

Are we winning UGLY??? Its not in my vocabulary...WE ARE WINNING!!!

Seriously, we need to shore up our OL and get some top tier talent at WR... and we are set Offensively...

Letting Chad go was a big mistake. I think if Chad had played behind this Jets O-line we would have clinched the division already...taking into account Miami would not have him and Brady was still out...

Henning is doing a fine job with what we have on Offense to work with, Greg C, Ted Ginn, a UDFA and bust FA Wr, a never was Te in DMart, and a cast off from Dallas Fasano and a rebuilt Oline.

To be honest, I'm really surprised we simply have not lined up in the "I" and handed the ball off 500 times this season..

I think if we had a good interior offensive line, we just might have.

I can't wait to see Marcus Trufant pick off Favre 4 times on sunday, while Pennington completes 90% of his throws with no turnovers.
