We should have beat the Jets but Pennington threw that pick in the corner of the end-zone, and Ginn got flagged for PI.

Pennington knows that field up there, and its a nice way to finish the season.

This without question will be the biggest game of the year.

    Pennington Vs Favre

    d-1

Correct and winning 3 games means you stink for sure but we're talking about going from winning 1 game the year before to winning 10 the next. No team had done it until now.

I think it was 5 teams that had reached 9 wins and one of them was another Parcells team. The New Jerk Jets...

Who would have thought that this team could put up 38 points in this game?!!!! Unbelievable!

Who would have thought that this defense would have given up 4 TDs in the first half of this game?!!!! Unbelievable!

Who would of thought that Chad and crew would make one last drive that consumed MAJOR clocktime in the final minutes of this game to win it?!!!! Whoops, wait... That IS BELIEVABLE!

    Great job AGAIN guys!!!

Who gives a rats patoot about tie breakers and such. If Miami takes care of their business and wins just one game they are in. The team has to be told you either win or go home with no tie breakers etc. Its simple Miami wins = playoffs.

Once again me abandoning the game equals a win. :woot:

Only way we can win the division with a loss next week is if your scenario comes true, PLUS the Jets lose to Seattle today.

BTW the way the Jets have looked the past few weeks they are definitely beatable.

I don't know if I want them to win or lose today. A loss will make them desperate and a win may give them some swagger that will lead to them being surprised and beaten. However a loss could also demoralize them. Heck forget it I hope they lose.

Exactly....:woot:...no wimpy *** WannyPhins "hoping" that so and so loses so we can make it to the playoffs, if we want it, there it is, the road runs through the Meadowlands....we are either in, or we are out...

    Manup Samphin.

It is going ot be a big game, and won that may very well ruin my new year's.

But you can't really ask for a bigger test and to see if, for once and for all, we ARE a playoff caliber team, than what we are about to witness.

:hi5: Nothing would please memore than to have Chad go up to New Jersey and not only advance us into the playoffs, but esstentially eliminate both the Jets and the Patriots in one fell swoop.

    love the sig.

Nothing would be sweeter than for us to go into NY and whoop the Jets with their own mistake being trading us Pennington to get their old timer Favre.

I can live with this. We really could not have asked for more, and whodathunkit?

The defense has had its let downs on more than a few occassions but they've came up big just in the nick of time as well.

Lets just hope for a good game next week and pray for more stars to be alligned....

Alright smarty pants. I didn't just start following this team this week and I'm aware of our record, however, every Jets defeat is relevant to me. ;)

Okay, I have to ask, what is with the "man up" business? It really makes no sense at all. First off what am I supposed to "man up" to? Or for? I am not playing next week and I haven't abandoned this team at all.

I am here each week win or lose, ugly win after ugly win.

So what do I have to man up to/for?

And this scenario is no different than the wonderful failure we had against the Patriots to end the season a few years back when Mark Royals punted about 15 yards after Wanny failed to run the ball on any of the downs with Ricky sitting on 1,800 yards for the season.

We didn't "hope" to bakc in, we went Boston, and lost.

Which is why I have already said, if they go to the Jets' house and beat them, it will prove to me that this team is different...finally.

Also Pennington knowing that defense should carve it up. Yeah I know they know him but they don't know his plays and well that secondary is terrible for the Jets.

So, lets say hypothetically we had no control, and had to hope for another team to lose for us to get into the playoffs. Since you are no wimpy Wannyphin you'd rather sit out the playoffs then hope for another team to lose? Gotcha!

I kind of agree with Padre on this one. I want us to EARN our way into the playoffs. Backing i always seems to lead to a one and done scenario.

On the other hand, it is never a bad thing to go to the playoffs, by hook or by crook. Especially considering our recent history...

I never called you a WannyPhin, you self described yourself as one.

No room for hope this year, we win, or we are OUT, end of story, no backdoor secret ways in, win...or lose...if we win we make it, if we lose, we are out.

I cannot stand that trembling idea of "well, I hope so and so loses so we can make the playoffs.."

Nonsense, Kill Kill pillage and burn, make our own path...no excuses.:hi5:

Dude, you stated you were now a Chiefs fan during the game, no doubt during a "on the ledge" moment...but come on...man up..

Apparently for being happy that the Dolphins are winners this year, despite how things may look in a Qtr, being a buzzkill is a talent granted but..

Perhaps, but that is viewed from a lense of past experience, meaning we would and should fold up like a cheap suit on a Greyhound bus...we ain't that team no more...

Indeed, and we may lose in the Meadoiwlands, however we had never won in sub 10 degree tempratures before either...and yet here we are...

Is it THAT damn hard to celebrate a win Sammy?

    We already have Sammy Ledger...:jump:...:hi5:

agreed! i don't care if we roll up in a bright rust orange ford fiesta and get out wearing a jim carey ballroom suit as long as we dance like john travolta.:knucks:

and as long as we are speaking hypothetically,to clear up my confusion, if we do beat the jest..has it been decided who we would play in the first po game? baltimore? i heard it depends on if they(balt) win or lose next week.

you are correct..i did my own name-calling if you will. i too would rather have had a po berth wrapped up 3 weeks ago rather than praying we can beat the jets in the last game of the season(kinda deja-vu for me). and i get your point of not having to win our last game and still need 2 or 3 others to lose.

man it has been a crazy season for the afc east..if you would have told me at the begining of the yr that 3 of 4 teams(us being one of them) in our div would be tied for first place with 10-5 at the end i wouldve laughed. how awesome would it be though for the pats to go 11-5 and still not make it? only other team i can think of is the donkeys in 84?-85?. or insane for us to go 10-6 and not make the po's.

even though i really want to exhale after this k.c game we still have to win one more game.

You mean when I put (not really) behind the statement? Funny how that is forgotten when you want to try and sculpt a view...

Go through every game thread of every message board ever and I think you will find that people react to what is going on on the field. If you count up theposts in this very thrad, you will find that the positive posts I had are pretty much equal to the negative posts.

Perhaps maybe I should just lie and say everything is fine when we are getting our asses handed to us then? Would that make everything all better?

To paraphrase: "Those who do not learn from the past, are doomed to repeat it." In other words, Miami has to prove that they can go into their biggest rivals digs, with the seaosn on the line and BEAT them. Until it happens, until they can prove that they are different than the multiple teams that have failed in the past, I won't crown them with anything other than a 10-5 team looking to get ot the playoffs. I think that is fair.

Again, all I can do is point you to the posts towards the end of the game and my excitement that we were able to win despite our defense. I really am scratching my head as to why you think that I am refusing to celebrate or not giving the proper people their credit. I have done it ad nauseum, quite frankly.

Says the guy who was cursing the team when Ricky fumbled. How quick are we to throw stones?

:jump: (<---see? I can use smileys too!)

edit: furthermore, I find it hypocrtical that when something goes good, no one is here to tell everyone that there is plenty of football to go and not to get too excited. :shifty:

Perhaps I know my role for next week?
