McClinton has come out hot tonight against the Buckeyes - 11-2 Canes.

He just got tossed - idiot move on his part. What a shame. He was 4-4 from three point range.

Yup and a lot of NBA scouts came to see him tonight. Hopefully he wont get suspended and gets to play against Kentucky on Saturday.

Great game it was too bad he was ejected because Miami was short. I'm glad Diebler caught fire we wouldn't have won without him. I think the Ohio St zone really messed with Miami so many TO's. Quite a few unforced errors also.

Yeah solid win by the young Buckeyes - thats one you had to take with McClinton being taken out so early. Our other PG was suspended so we had no answer the full court pressure defense you threw at us.

True but if Miami knocked down those FT attempts and McClinton keeping his poise I think the Canes come away with the win. He was probably going to have at least 25 PTS. I did think it was interesting that the team was shooting better with him out. I believe the Canes were just short on depth at the Guard position with 1 being suspended and McClinton getting tossed. I just hope the Bucks beat ND next.

    Good luck against Kentucky.

I still can't believe what happened with McClinton. Not to sound overly confident, but he's one of the best players in the ACC and he was off to a hot start tonight (lighting it up as usual). We probably win that game EASILY with his presence. That really sucks. Back to unranked reality.

While on that note, any update on Eddie Rios? I never caught the full story.

    Automatic loss without him.

I'm actually more pissed about this incident than the football team losing to N.C. State, and there's a long way to go in the basketball season. It's just something that shouldn't of happened. Jack is my guy, but he's the leader of this team. He's got to make better decisions regardless.

I'd much rather lose full strength, man.

    Damn to say the least.

It wouldn't surprise me if he left. As it was mentioned before in this thread, he did really like the visit to Missouri. Missouri has more belief in Bryce's receiving skills as Bryce thinks he can be the next Maclin for some reason. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave and I don't think it would be that big of a hit on the team because Lamar Miller is going to be there next year. However, I still don't want him to leave.

You know what, that was one of the worse rejections in the history of professional sports now that I re-watch the video. Should be called for a technical, but nothing more. McClinton was actually hit first. It was barely even much of a slap. The officials stole that game.

Honestly, I'd of slapped Carter, too (probably punched). He was defending pretty dirty from the start.

Any of you guys hear any rumors of Nix out and Gus Malzahn in at OC?

Also heard there would be several players transferring from UM, including Marve.

Rumors going around the rivals/scout boards and Gatorsports board.

One rumor said a booster actually went to the AD and offered to pay Malzahn's salary if they brought him in.

Malzahn would be a dream come true; I haven't heard about it though.
Javarris James has been rumored as well but I don't know about him. Shannon doesn't want a two Quarterback system from what I understand, despite this years play of both Quarterbacks. Just what I heard.

Don't worry. The bears are not that good. I like your chances quite a bit. The extra practice should help. Hopefully you guys get good QB play

Alright so are the Marve to USF rumors true? Does it have any legs or this a case again where his disgruntled daddy is sticking his foot in his mouth again??

With Grothe finally graduating at USF, and Tampa being his hometown, I can definately see this happening. My question is would we allow him to play next year or make him sit ?

I think he'd have to sit per NCAA rules. Correct?

Yes he would have to sit a year, if he went to USF. If he went to a 1AA school he could play right away. The rule you are thinking about is if he went to another ACC school. Then UM could make him sit 2 years or just the mandatory one.

Matt Grothe is only a Junior. So it would work out perfectly if he stays (which I think he will). His Website

Basically Matt would play his senior year and then Marve could come in and take over the year after.

We can release him and allow him to play if we choose too. Otherwise he does have to sit for a year.

I think Miami can sign a waver that allows him to play the next year, but the decision is in Miami's hands. I know they do that in baseball, and I think they allowed a punter years ago to transfer from Miami to FSU and play the next year. We're talking the 1980's. Maybe the rules have changed since then, but I do think he can IF Miami signs a waver.

He can only play next hear of he were to transfer for certian reasons (health of family, Money, or something to that nature.). He will have to sit out a year next year no matter what.

Also this morning, according to The Joe Rose Show on 560WQAM, Marve may miss the bowl game due to disciplinary actions from Shannon. He stated that Marve has academic questions, including missing classes and GPA problems.

So his leaving may be inevitable. He sits out the bowl game, he is a gonner for sure in my opinion.

Wow Marve is a complete idiot to throw this away if all this is true. He will never have the talent around him like he will at the U

I agree Skeet, IF it is true. However Shannon is so secretive we may never know the whole story, only one that comes out after it all goes down.

Marve has a family-coach meeting at UM discussing his future.

    Jacory Harris' future:

Talk on Bryce Brown and his future:

Brandon McGee recruiting for his new college:

Eye on the U | The Hot Stove: Marve, Bryce and recruiting

For those who don't know about DeBose, my school plays him and this kid is basically a hot name because he's a blazer. He can outrun just about anyone and he relies on his athletic ability. He is your Percy Harvin. He's a track star that is very raw when it comes to route running. He plays both running back and wide receiver. I told this story in the Gator thread but my friend, who used to go to Seminole High, was a track star and he was friends with Andre DeBose. One day, my friend was running track and Andre came to the practice and overlapped him. Just like that. His speed is going to be deadly in college. Lets hope we can get him so we can have him and Travis Benjamin returning kicks. Another possibility from Sanford is Ray Ray Armstrong. He's a Safety and a LB. I haven't seen much of him but I heard that he's too slow for Safety. I don't know how true that is though so take it with a grain of salt.

How the hell is Michigan State top 25 in both polls (19 & 22) with Miami unranked? They've been blown out twice already; once understandably by UNC, but also by Maryland. Miami lost by 16 to Uconn, and got a close game STOLEN FROM THEM by Ohio State's 2002 NCAA Football Championship referees.

And Memphis loses 2 of their last 3 and still stands? Jack McClinton apparently has more people he needs to slap.

Michigan St also has won a national championship and a reputation nationally and a well liked and well known coach in Izzo. Miami has to earn its stripes. We have chance to do that with ACC play. If we beat Clemson we will be ranked.
