Rad played pretty well but the one guy to spread the floor for Kobe really should be the SF. Gasol can step outside and hit mid-range shots at the PF position. Ariza started off shooting well but regressed. Odom never really had it. Rad and Walton can't play D. Only Piston I would consider is Prince.

At least some laker fans know when they are being messed with and don't get all sensitive and hurl insults.

and yes..that was our first championship.

we haven't been around that long if you haven't noticed.

Your feelings must have really been hurt. I apologize for that then.

Yea, a.) we keep having those shots go in and out, b.) team's still looking ahead for Dec 25 rather than the present.

After Wade's stint with Team USA and sympathizing with what happened with Shaq, I find myself more partial towards the Heat. Definitely will root for you guys (or anyone for that matter) against the Celtics.

    Ladies,

It will be such a joy, on Christmas day, whilist I sip on some fine Amaretto in front of a roasting fire, to watch those soft Lakers (aka Kobe and the euro-weeines) get slapped like 2 cent whores.

Enjoy being less than the best.

    That is all.

I'm sorry, you have this thread mistaken for the ladies room. You need to leave, make a left, and it's the sign that looks like this:

Always remember to wear replace your tampon. Now, even though it isn't used as much, you can find lots of tampons here, now in leprechaun colors. And did I mention you need to leave? Men are talking here. And fortunately, like me, this forum has had enough of Celtic fans starting needless pissing wars they can't do more in besides throwing cliched smack talk.

    That is all.

I admit that I don't pay too much attention to the NBA until after the Super Bowl, but I wanted today's win.

It doesn't erase last season's finals or mean that the Celtics are all of a sudden horrible. In fact, what it means is that, when they want to, and are motivated, the Lakers can beat the Celtics. Coming off of a five day road trip where they played four games, the Lakers very well could have been blown out.

However, they showed up, played defense and HUSTLED for the first time in forever seemingly. Ariza was all over the floor saving balls and setting up teammates. Bynum blocked some big shots down the stretch and Pau stepped up late in the game to hit some big buckets. Major ups to Lamar too who had a good game off the bench (including back to back threes).

Overall, it is justone game and the Celtics are still the best in the league, but it felt like a big game and it capped my Christmas off right. :hi5:

    VERY Impressed. VERY IMPRESSED.

They bring that defense the rest of the way...my prediction will look like an obvious one.

This Laker team is the most talented team I have seen since the Blazers that blew that lead to the Lakers in the WCF's.

Thats what I was coming in here to say. They would be almost untouchable if they played this inspired all the time. Gasol actually played good D.

They can be a very good defensive team when they want to. Key is to keep the motivation up. They've been slacking off a bit. But just a great win. Couldn't be happier.

Indeed. Always fun to see ex-Team USA teammates Kobe and Wade duke it out in a friendly manner. Kobe seems to be passing it a lot more these past games so scoring wasn't there for him. And the team still doesn't play defense unless it's the Celtics or when it suits them.

Pretty big win today I think. It shows the disparity from number one to number two if you ask me. Bynum looked good. Kobe was Kobe, Pau had some incredible assists and the Bench Mob was at it again. Jordan Farmar on his return looked like he hadn't missed a beat. Ariza was doing well as well. Lamar too. Just a solid all around win and dismantling of the Spurs.

    Huzzah to that.

I just saw this stat. Since the 1998-99 season, the Spurs and Lakers have faced each other 70 times in the regular season and playoffs. They are tied 35-35 after yesterday's Lakers win.

Considering that these two teams have won seven of the 10 titles available in that span, I would say that this rivalry is probably the best one going on over the past decade. 35-35, wow.

Bynum's on a mission right now and couldn't have come at a better time. I guess Farmar's return pretty much flies in the face of that LA Times blurb saying he won't return.

I think its a combination of things. Bynum went into the league at 17 right? No way in hell was his body prepared for the NBA. I could be wrong but I think he never really built his body up.

**** happens. But it has nothing to do with bad conditioning. Really all bad luck. Having a 220lb guy like Kobe land on the wrong side of your knee will injure anyone smaller than an elephant. He'll be out 8 weeks so it's unlikely he'll miss the playoffs again.

8-12 weeks. I'd say it's likely that he's done for the year as far as the presence that he was up until now. However he will be back by the first or second round of the playoffs.

Expect the Lakers to make Odom the starter until the end of the year and instead of playing Bynum in the starting lineup once he returns, making him the bench guy against Glen Davis and Leon Powe.

All in all the season is not done but it took a major shot today. You may see them make a deal to save themselves but it'll be tough as there isn't that much they can do. The greatest benefit for the team this year is that during the finals last year up until game 6 the starters basically matched the Celtics' starters in every game. It was the bench that destroyed the Lakers. Powe and company took advantage of Walton, Turiaf, and Mihm. With Bynum healthy by June and back in shape he should be able to negate that and at least give the Lakers a very good shot at beating Boston.

It's not as strong though as when he was dropping 25 on Cs in 32 mpg though.

Bynum goes down, Kobe responds I guess. Can't throw it in to Bynum to rack up those dbl digit assists anymore.
