Though if the Rams suck again next year and only have say 4 or 5 wins, Cameron will likely be looking for another job. I think Cameron is better waiting to see if Marty gets a head coaching job before signing with the Rams.
I couldnt find it either on any website. Pat Kirwin and Bob Pappa announced it about 2 hours ago on Sirius. Probably wont be available on any site until the team announces it
That's certainly a real risk for Cam. I was speaking about it being a good hire for the Rams though For Cam, he really needs to hang on there for about 3 successful years in order to get another shot at being a HC. If Linehan's gone after this year, Cam may have to find another job, but I can't think of too many teams that wouldn't want him as their OC.
Cameron is much better suited as a coordinator. I'm sure he will have success there. Good luck to him.
Something else I just thought of.. Isn't Georgia Frontiere gravely ill and on her death bed? I dunno, I just can't see Cameron taking this job when it's not a certain thing that Linehan's going to be back next year.
He is in a position I beleive he can suceed in and if we had gotten Marty instead of Parcells then he would have fit for the Dolphins as OC as well.
No link to this story anywhere, they're probably waiting to announce it so they can publish it on the websites. GOOD LUCK Cam !
I don't think Cam got a fair shake at the whole HC thing. I mean if you went into the season knowing Trent Green wouldnt play, half your secondary and almost all of your safeties would be injured, Ronnie Brown would bust his leg, Zach Thomas would be out a big number of games, Channing Crowder would miss a bunch and so forth I would have expected this much. Not to say 1-15 is okay under ANY circumstances, but the odds were against him. Anyway I wish him the best luck wherever he goes.
Damn, I was wishing he would go to San Fran. Smith got screwed over when Norv left, I think Cam could bring him along better than Martz.
Figured. I knew there was no way in hell anyone would consider him for HC before he got another OC job. Now, if he can get the Rams offense to gel and score points etc. etc. he may be considered next year or the year after for another HC job.
thats what im thinking too...I was still trying to find it... Well MArtz is OC in SF now so all there is left is STL. You can hear Gore screaming a mile away...

I dont know. Kirwin is pretty good when it comes to storys and Martz is in San Fran so Cam had to have been hired...
I can not find any confrimation on this story. I'm not saying he didn't get hired, but I need to see an official link or something.
Everything I've read thus far still has Cam as an 'OC candidate' for the Rams, no hiring as of yet. The Rams have also reportedly expressed interest in former Dolphins offensive line coach Hudson Houck.
I dunno about a fair shake. Honestly rebuilding or not (and I've stated my stance on how Cam and Randy approached this "rebuilding" many times) when you go 1-15, and by all accounts should've been 0-16, there's no way you can make an argument for someone to be brought back. Plus, he lost the team. I think it became way too obvious he was not ready to be an NFL HC about midway through the season.
Good luck to Cam. And I just added Steven Jackson to my draft board for sure. Cam's RBs always do good.
I think losing the team was just part of the avalanche of injuries and such, how many close games were there? I don't see how you can say should have been 0-16, I'm pretty sure we won that game fair and square. Anyway I'm not trying to make a case for him to be brought back, I think we did the right thing, just making a point that the odds werent stacked in his favor this year.
I also found it here at Wikpedia under "Miami Dolphins" section: http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cach...ameron+hired+as+rams&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us
I'm happy for him but I'm not surprised....I know he's a good OC and a few teams were gonna want to hire him...I think is a good move by the Rams. Ozzy rules!!
Looks like it is Martz with the job http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/jim_trotter/01/08/martz.niners/index.html
Adam Schein reported yesterday that MArtz was already hired in San Fran. what the hell is going on there with Sirius man!!! Come on man..dont do that to me...ha http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/01/09/SPK2UB9K0.DTL
I just looked at a STL newspaper and there is no mention of Cam being hired. The only mention is that he is high on their list but he has not been hired yet. Also, Bates got canned in Denver.
Assistant head coach/defense Jim Bates elected to leave the team rather than face a reassignment on the staff, and Bob Slowik will move into the defense's top spot. Bates, who just completed his first season in Denver, was offered a position coaching the team's linebackers but elected to move on instead. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jan/09/boss-defense-exits-broncos/
Actually an overrated offensive mind. Either way, Cameron is the OC and Linehan is the Head Coach. All playcalls to the quarterback will come directly from Linehan. Linehan's offense > Cameron's. We're witnesses. God I miss Linehan.
