USC Georgia Florida Oklahoma This is off the top of my head, I'm not positive on who is leaving from all these teams so it could definitely change. Not sure who I'd put 5th either, but all these other teams had young talent make up the core of their teams so the turnover shouldnt hurt them too much. They all have had some strong recruiting classes the last couple years also.
1. USC (they always seem to reload) 2. Georgia (this team is scary good) 3. WVU (we WILL be back strong again) 4. Oklahoma (will be hungry after that brutal whipping in the Fiesta Bowl) 5. Ohio State (I know, I know ... but they bring damn near everyone back)
I think OU will finish the season ahead of USC but based on the way they finished this past season you'd have to give USC the nod.
Only reason I'd switch them is USC is losing Booty, while Bradford should just get better. I still can't believe that freak was only a freshman!
True, thats a good point. But USC's dropoff with QB's is always next to nothing. I mean from Palmer to Leinart to Booty its pretty steady.
Very true. We're not talking about dropping them far, just one spot. When picking between the two I always choose the devil I know.
Id guess Sanchez because he got some PT this year that will help, and has been in the program longer. But if Mustain lives up to the hype maybe he can beat him out in camp.
Rivals has a preseason top 25, Missouri instead of Florida in their top 5 http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1144&CID=759223#top25
I almost put them in my top 5 but I'm thinking this year could be a "one year wonder" type season for them, but anything is possible.
why does everyone like Georgia so much??? they lost to SC and Tennessee. barely beat Troy, Vandy, Alabama...not to mention, i dont see much in their QB, Stafford.
Those loses were before the "switch came on". They have a solid defense and a dominant running game. Definitely will be a top 5 team to start the year. However, they also have most likely the #1 hardest schedule in the nation next season as well.
I would add that the switch was most likely not on because of how young their team is. Their schedule is pretty sick, but I still think UF's is tougher. They have to nice warm up games, but UF doesn't have a "practice" game until the end of the year. UGA does have it tough with games at Arizona St., LSU, and Auburn. Then again, UF goes to Tenn, FSU, and Arkansas. hmmm, as I look at it I realized they're playing Central Mich. Not exactly a push over, but even if you put them on par with Hawaii, UGA still starts with a D1AA school. UF does play the Citadel, but that game isn't until late November. Either way two very tough schedules, that do not inspire confidence that either team can make it through with less than two losses. If either gets through with one loss, and a SEC championship, they'd be a lock for the NC game.
I wonder why he has OU under Mizz. Are they losing that much talent? At least we get some break with UGA play LSU I can't wait to see how how those schedules end up looking at the end of the year. Fortunately, we get UM at the beginning of the year. I expect them to be a team that improves a lot as the year progresses.
Other than an Olineman or two, a RB, a WR, and a DB I don't think OU is losing that much. I somewhat agree with UM improving, no where to go but up by their standards. However, I'm still not sold on Shannon's in-game coaching skills.
SI writer Stewart Mandel has the top 10 like this: 1. Georgia 2. Ohio State 3. Oklahoma 4. USC 5. Mizzou 6. West Virginia 7. Florida 8. Kansas 9. LSU 10. Wisconsin
