I got Resistance 2 collectors edition free w/ my system, beat that lol Never played the first one, looking forward to playing the 2nd one though. Just used a 25$ gift card to get MK vs DC. It was on sale for 38 at Best Buy, w/ the gift card it cost me 15. Figured it was worth that much based on Mors review.
One day and one day only at Future Shop. I THINK someone ****ed up though because Resistance II was supposed to be $39.99 on it's own, which is still a pretty good deal. I played Resistance for about 3 hours when I brought it home. It's alright. I like the story. the only issue I have is that it feels a little too "Doom" for my liking. I prefer the realism of the "Call of Duty" series. That said, it's still quite fun!
Call of Duty is NOT realistic. It exaggerates just as much if not more than your typical Hollywood war movie. For comparison, a realistic modern war game is Operation Flashpoint and its spiritual sequel, Armed Assault. The upcoming Operation Flashpoint 2 and Armed Assault 2 will be even more realistic for a variety of reasons. Rainbow Six used to be tactically realistic, but by the time of Vegas the developers gave up and just made it a typical FPS game. A realistic World War 2 game would be Brothers in Arms.
I guess I should have expressed "realism" differently. I meant the "realism" of the graphics, the textures etc. The game itself is VERY unreal of course but the graphics and the feel of the game are, in my opinion, pretty dead on. Resistance feels cartoonish.
I got COD: WAW today (gift certificate). I didn't really know what to buy. I was thinking Fallout 3 but I decided to get that from Gamefly. Plus I hear that Epic hasn't fixed Gears 2 matching system. Until they do, I'm not getting it (already played it from GF). This is my first COD game and I really liked it. Since I've never played COD I didn't mind WW2. I kinda thought the American-Japanese missions were lacking though. I enjoyed the Russian-Germany battle 10 times more. I just beat it and got Nazi Zombie mode. I'll try that online tomorrow (or Monday depending on how close the Chargers/Broncos game is).
I get you. But I wouldn't even say THAT. Everything in CoD is the invention of the development teams: the areas you play through are entirely fictional and the game just pretends that it's what France, Russia, Germany, Okinawa etc actually looked like. Contrast this with Brothers in Arms, which uses satellite imagery, genuine WW2 aerial recon reports and photos, and a mapping trip the development team took to Normandy and Belgium to accurately recreate the terrain and battlefields. I mean, good grief, CoD4 presents the entire Middle East from Iran to the Mediterranean and on down through the Sinai as one fictitious country.
Loving Drake's Fortune so far, played through about half of it. Heavenly Sword is pretty fun as well. Need to beat one of them so I can start Fallout 3. Finally have video games to play again...
I got Uncharted as well for Christmas and loved it. Phenomenal all around especially voice acting and cinematics. Can't wait for Uncharted 2.
If you love that game - then you'll love Fallout 3 probably more. I know I am. That game is unreal. I just started it recently and find myself marveling at the level of detail in each level design as well as the complexity of the characters you meet.

i got mercinaries 2 as well. liking the game so far but haven't gotten far yet. i was really disappointed about the co-op mode only being for live but i like the shooters where you can actually see your character unlike the duke nukems and halos..don't know why but it's just a better feel to me in that view.
I did'nt get any games, but my daughter recieved a Wii and has been playing since Christmas. She's addicted. Are there any games they have for it made more torwards adults? The people on it look like weebles with no legs. How do you guys like playing it? Anything I should know before I hook it up to the net? Any advice on it would be greatly appreciated.
What do you mean by an adult game? Are we talking guns, violence, and zombies? If so, there's a port of Resident Evil 4 available. There are also "real" sports games, Madden etc. I think the system as a whole is a gigantic gimmick. I haven't touched it in months. Not really, the Friend Code system makes it hard for interweb stalkers to find kiddies. Furthermore, I don't think it has a built-in web browser, so you should be good there. (Opera is available as a download, but I believe there's a small price attached.) You might like IGN's Wii channel.

What games? GTA IV (pc) The game looks great and from the little bit I have been able to play it seems like another GTA classic. Problem is, unless you own or have access to a NASA super computer, the game is going to be extremely slow and sluggish. For whatever reason (me thinks piraters) Rockstar makes you install Windows Live and some moronic social club thing, as well as making installation a total hassle with multiple codes and serial numbers. My laptop exceeds the minimum requirements for the game and I turned off all background programs (as well as reducing the graphics), but it still plays like a turtle running in a headwind. I contacted Rockstar and their answer to me was "we didn't test this game for laptops, so try it on a different computer". That's super duper support right there. I found and downloaded the patch that was supposed to help, but it didn't do anything. I can play other resource intense games with no problem, it's just this one that gives me trouble. So anyway, I also got COD W@W and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, but haven't had time to try them out yet.
It depends on the game, I guess. The interface definitely is geared towards little kids, but if you can get past that there are some games that are more "adult", they have some of the bigger titles out there.
What games? I'm really not sure.I always played PC games and now Danielle has a console.(1st one)We got the Wii for her because it was a more active way to play video games,I heard good things about it. The only game that came with it was the sports pack.We are looking into others for her down the road. Now Dad got a bit hooked on it and was just wondering if there were games of interest(sports, action) that I might like, and if you guys like the console. So that gets back to the part of I don't really know what games. I have'nt hooked up to the net yet.Waiting to make all my PC's wireless. Not sure if I want to hook up the Wii to it.I'd like more info about it 1st.
I know what you're saying. The Bowling one is pretty good and she wants the exercise pad and track game.I think they came out with a dance thing too. That's better then playing zombie with just a controller sitting on the couch.Especially for a 11 year old.
Madden Call of Duty W@W Cabelas dangerous hunts (if you like hunting) Zelda: Twilight Princess Guitar hero Legends of Rock (and world tour) RockBand Resident Evil 4 Tiger Woods PGA Tour WWE Smackdown vs Raw 09 James Bond: Quantum of Solace Just to name a few, plus you can download alot of the older games for the older Nintendo systems right from the Wii. I think Danielle would probably like Animal Crossing: City Folk, I know that my nieces all love the Animal Crossing games. Here is a list for ya http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=games&platform=1031&mode=top&tag=subnav;all http://www.nintendo.com/games/guide#qhardware=Wii Which one do you have it for?
