    From the Cowboys that is

Its not because he doesnt like them but he doesnt think he is a good fit for a 3-4 defene

DALLAS COWBOYS Blog | The Dallas Morning News

You can deduce from his quotes that he still thinks he can play but only in a 4-3 defense which leaves the Dolphins out.

This regime must have come to the same conclusion when they released him .

Hopefully one day he will be given the opportunity to retire as a Dolphin if only he is signed for a day .Our Ring of Honor is waiting for him.

This years success has been accomplished by a bunch of overachievers and Zach has exemplified that in our recent past .

Good luck to Zach. One of my favorite player and I know he is a favorite of many Dolphin fans too

BTW the article mentions that Tank Johnson will opt for FA too.

Zach is a class act. I too hope that he retires as a Miami Dolphin. He deserves no less.

IMO the best MLB to ever play! He was awesome in our 3-4 hybrid but I guess he prefers the 4-3... Zach is still the man and I wished the SB for the Boy's because of it... Oh well I guess. He'll still be good!

    I'm guessing he'll retire.

Better not go to anyone in our division.

    Zach Thomas

I saw the ESPN ticker one time say something about Zach not possibly playing in Texas next year. As I waited for it to come back around, it never showed again.

Does anyone think he might want to come back in a limited role? I think his preparation for games could rub off on a good way to whomever we bring in to replace him. You all know he does more film work and breakdown then any other LB we have.

    Zach Thomas come back home.

But if Zach Thomas comes back he need to be a second stringer Channing Chrowder has worked hard for that job and has done well this year to keep it. So Zach Thomas can be behind Zach Thomas.

Yeah! I would love to see him in a back-up role. He could make the other LB's better by telling them what is about to happen during film work.

Honestly, as much as I love the guy, and as good of a story that his return would make, I don't see it happening. He's not the right guy for our defense and why would we take up a roster spot for him to return? This would cause a younger guy, a guy with a possible real future here, to be off the team. The only was I could see him back on the roster would be as a Strong Safety.

Time to move on. I love Zach, but his time in Miami is done. Let him go elsewhere like Green Bay or Detroit and finish his career with a team that can use his guidance and leadership for its younger players while still getting an effective linebacker in a 4-3 system.

Philly might be a good place for him as well come to think of it.

There's no guarantee Crowder will be back with us next year. That said, no Zack has made his choice just like JT and he has to accept it. We've both turned the page on that chapter of life.

Zach Thomas did not make any choice we cut him. Trust me Channing Chrowder will be back with us next year.

Uh... No, it was Jeff Irelands choice. I would LOVE to get Zach back! But Parcells told him he wouldn't start a 35 year old LB. Plus Parcells likes them tall for whatever reason. Zach couldn't be a backup though, he'd win CC's job in the preseason, planned or not. Zach is the best!

We all love Zach but there is a reason why he was cut in the first place .He is not a good fit in Parcells defense and even Zach admits he is a better fit in a 4-3 defense .

I hope we do sign him if only for a day so he can retire as a Dolphin when he is ready .The Ring of Honor is waiting for him.

Hopefully that day will be soon.Remember his concussion history.

No, Zack had a choice be a backup or go elsewhere to start. He chose to go elsewhere to start. What has changed that he would now agree to be a backup?

Zach wants to play, you can tell by the way he talks in that article.

He will go to a team with a 4-3 and he will play well.

If he thinks he's got gas left in the tank... he must have had some taco bell.

No but seriously. If he wants to play and teams feel like he'll play well in a 4-3 I'd love to see him anywhere but the AFCE.

True. Him wanting to leave Dallas says all sorts of things for that team. I wouldn't mind him in a place like Detroit. Those guys could learn a thing or two from him.

It ain't about old and it ain't about tall. It's about BIG and STRONG. When you run into a Parcells linebacker, it should hurt.
