Sweet...someone said that Pennington was playing like Griese a couple of weeks ago up in Club, only believe it or not, statistically, Pennington is playing BETTER then Griese in every category except for YPA, Griese was up around 12 yds per pass in the post Zonk era. That is the most positive I've ever heard Coach Shula speak to a new Dolphins Coaching Regime. Now is there any chance we could fly in the 72 Dolphins for a bit of extra Mojo? We already have the Sunny and Mild forecast...and we may need to sacrifice a Chicken as well..
BTW Georgia, check out the Baltimore Sun's take on the Shula comments: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/football/bal-sp.dolphins01jan01,0,4006037.story?track=rss A bit different up in Baltimore... BTW, I read the comments section, and man o man, do I appreciate thePhins more as I tool around, some of those comments are just uncalled for...
I will say it again, I bought into all the rumors they said about Pennington, but I know and understand the game of football and I was surprised how smart he played and never knew he was the most accurate passer until we picked him up. He knows where everyone is at and understands every situation. I feel we have excellent backs and the wildcat formation helped open things up. d-1
As someone that is old enough to remember Bob I've been saying this all year. After the lost of Csonka, Morris etc the Dolphins had to become more of a passing team. Bob did not have a strong arm but always have a high 60's completion average. Wearing glasses for a few years he would pick apart defenses and rarely made mistakes.
All qualities needed in a coach.....can you say career after his playing days ? Does anyone doubt he is headed that way ????
C'mon Man, those weren't glasses, they were half inch thick bullet proof "things".. I would bet on a clear day he could see to Tampa. He made Kareem's goggles look stylish.
Chad Pennington reminds me of Bob Griese alot. He does'nt fling the ball down field he plays smart with the ball and relys on the running game.
