http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/nfl/01/02/playoff-crystal-ball/index.html?cnn=yes Man the lack of respect the Miami Dolphins are getting is infuriating. What a bunch of tools.
Yep, it's all good let them not pick us, they didn't pick us for this game and look what happened. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d805248bb&filter=cant-miss-plays&categoryId=featured
Everytime I see Wayne in tears I'm just overwhelmed how much I love this team. Despite the fact that I am from Germany and have never been to the United States. I just can't explain why I love this team so much.
An alternate view .... notice the Miami fan: http://noolmusic.com/blogs/nfl_foot...ns_from_the_upper_deck_-_youtube_videos.shtml
I was at that game. However, I wasnt taking it sitting down. I was in the face of every pats fan surrounding us. Thats the way it was, thats the way it will be, and thats the way I like it.
Bill Simmons on ESPN.com picked the Ravens by like 20 points. His vagina must still be hurting from Miami keeping the Pats out of the postseason.
I would have punched that little **** in his mouth if he would have done that to me. I hate it when fans rub it in. We Won the division. HA!! You do know we split the series right? And your Patsies are sitting at home watching the playoffs?
I actually really like when no 'experts' pick the Dolphins to win. It makes our victories just that much sweeter to me.
And there are more intellegent posters on this site than these so called 'experts'. Alen knows more about this team than any of them.
It's nothing new. It's been that way all season long and the team feeds off of it. I'm very confident going into this game.
OT If you have never been to the US (and I'm guessing that until recently NFL football must not have been televised regularly in Deutschland), how did you get so into NFL football and become a fan of the Dolphins? I ask that seriously. Where and how were you exposed to the game?
Everyone picking the Ravens....? Hey Guys and Gals, I have been watching the Networks around the many TV's avenues and everyone seems to be picking the Ravens to win....? I do not believe I heard anyone picking the Dolphins......? Did we not only lose by 14 points against them last time we played and one of those TD's came off a Pennington pick....? They are not giving us any credit. We beat the Ravens last year with Cleo Lemon, are they forgetting that....? d-1
Lets hope the Ravens underestimate us too! Roll on Sunday! but whatever happens I couldn't be any happier with the way this season has gone!
Nobody thinks we can win. I do think the Ravens are the scariest team to play in the playoffs due to their Defense and running game, but I think we're a close second. Bottom line, if we shut down their Rushing attack we can win the game.
Do you blame them for picking the safe pick... We were not suppose to be as talented this year, so everyone sees us as over-achievers...
Actually, I think it could. If the Dolphins are noticing it, it could be used as bulletin board material for extra motivation.
Might as well lump the ESPN crew in with the CNNSI crew ... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/features/talent That's 20/20 "experts" picking the Ravens.
Nah, IMO if any player needs to use sound bites to get themselves motivated to play (or even extra motivation), then they aren't properly prepared in the first place. I don't see that with this team, they are well prepared and focused when they go out there, so I don't think that something like this is going to have any barring on what happens come game time.
There is no need to fear the Underdogs are.......... The 2008 Miami Dolphins! Using the no respect notions as a tackling fuel.
yea im getting really scared about this game. to much love going for the ravens. im starting to think u guys are gonna come out and kick tail
It'll be a close game. If this game is a blow out, I have to think it will be the Ravens blowing out Miami..hopefully this doesn't happen.
I don't agree with this at all bro. Being an active football player right now for my high school team, our coach used a form of motivation for two of our biggest games this year. When we played Milford (one of the best teams in Michigan and one of our fiercest rivals) we were expected to get destroyed. All the papers thought it would be a blowout. Well after we got done eating our team meal, we went back to the locker room and on each persons locker their was a piece of paper that the local newspaper printed out showing us what the headlines would be if we beat Adrian..and let me tell ya it motivated the Hell out of us. Two of our senior captains took one of the papers out to the field and before we got out of the tunnel we were all hoopin' it up just wanting to kick some major asss. Things that are said about your team motivates you to play better...you always want to prove the doubters wrong..weather in football or just in life when someone doubts you.
While I don't disagree with you, I think your basic fan has a difficult time believing these multi-million dollar athletes need that kind of motivation.
They don't NEED the motivation but I have a hard time believing it doesn't help. Nobody likes to feel disrespected. Nobody is giving Miami a prayer. They are going on and on about how Baltimore DOMINATED them earlier in the season. [Not really true] Sticking it to people who don't believe in you is very gratifying.
That's all well and good bro, but there is a major difference between highschool ball and the NFL. What about the teams that use newspapers and quotes for motivation and don't win? Did that form of motivation help them? Teams that are properly prepared by the coaching staff will be pumped and ready to breath fire during a preseason game against a bottom feeder, they don't need the other stuff to get them going. JMO though.
I should preface the following with the fact that I never take this piece of my own advice: You should never get to worked up about a lack of respect when it's just a pick and there's no reasoning or predicted score. For all we know the 'expert' felt that the teams were really closely matched and just went with the better defense or the better special teams or whatever. I don't think that's a slight to your team. I mean if they write their reasoning and it's basically 'the Dolphins are an awful team that don't deserve to be in the postseaon and they're gonna get blown out etc etc' (or they predict a blowout) then you can feel aggrieved about a lack of respect.
For some players in the NFL, I think it's not all about the money to them. I don't see guys like Pennington and Bess being the kind of athletes that are all about the money.
