You're just going to throw that out there? Back it up.

wow and ive given u guys nothing but respect and we beat u earlier this year. ive given u that respect knowing that you guys are way better now than you were in week 7 and that u could easily win this game tomorrow.

BUT please dont get too COCKY (as some say our fans are) and say that our defense is overrated unless you can sure as crap back it up.

ill be waiting for the proof

We weren't then. This team has a completely different mentality now, they believe they are going to win now.
At the start of the year after going 1-15 the season before they were hoping for a win, after going 9-1 they believe they are going to win.

Wow, have you actually watched the Ravens this year? That defense is certainly not over-rated, it is downright nasty. I'm hoping that over the next couple of years our defense can morph into something similar.

    Great post.
Looking over the season stats the thing that stands out to me is that the Ravens are a very physical team, both on offense and defense.
If we can match the TOP then that will limit their offense greatly as it relies on basically wearing down the defense. Easier said than done though since their defense is awesome.
I don't think we will generate any kind of "normal" run game, Price, Ngata and Bannan will eat up our interior line. If we go Wildcat then I think the first couple of plays from it need to be throws to catch them off guard.
Pennington will need to be his usual efficient self and we will need to throw to try to open up the run game. Incidentally I think their CB's are the weak link of the defense but Chad prefers to throw down the seams. We need a big game from either Ginn or Bess and for Chad to really challenge their CB's.
If the Dolphins win the TOP and turnover battle we will win this game.

Yeah, in the last game I was really hoping they wouldn't throw out of the wildcat because our DBs are so aggressive, it's ridiculous. Luckily they kept it on the ground even though it clearly wasn't working.

    1. Defense is ranked by yards allowed per game etc. If you are 1st. or second, it is a statistic. No opinion involved.
    2.Strength of schedule.
    3. DC media loves the skins, not the Ravens.

In a word yes.But I think he does it just to create contoversy.Baltimorons love a good fight. They smell it a mile away and show up in droves. Combine that with our inferiority complex and you have a pretty fiesty bunch.Preston knows that and plays it up. One article he wrote was after the draft when he wrote" all the pressing needs the Ravens have at O-line ,receiver etc. and who do they pick??? Ole Ed Reed". For some reason he does'nt mention that article much.

The only time he's said anything positive about Raven players is after they've left, or like the other day when Willis McGahee blamed his bad season on the coaches, and Preston started saying it was no big deal, then the same day writes an article criticizing Ed Reed, of all people.

It's the same in the Miami media, those sports writers and pundits tend to throw dirt on top of their mistakes and act as if it never happened..

I will say one thing though, Brian Billick had played out the string in Baltimore, sometimes a change in scenary will work out for everyone involved, like Shanahan in Denver..

lol, our defense is overrated?? wow...I could easily mention a laundry list of stats that would make you realize how silly that comment is, but I get the feeling that you won't acknowledge that Baltimore's defense is the best in the NFL no matter how many facts are thrown your way.

We both have 11-5 records, but our schedule was also much tougher than yours. For example, we played 7 games against playoff teams (and Dallas, who we essentially knocked out of the playoffs). Miami played 3 games against a playoff team.
We played 8 teams with at least .500 record, you played 6.

Why is Baltimore considered a better team? It really doesn't matter, because the games are played on the field, not on paper (or the forums)

  20. I said "IMO" -- Yes, the Ravens obviously have a strong defense, but teams have played successfully against it. That's all I was saying...

LMAO, no ...... I don't think beating the Dolphins was a big deal at all. Dallas, Redskins, Texans and probably Jacksonville are all better than the fins. We have 17 guys on IR, we've been "down" the entire year. The real Dolphins showed up in the last game against the Pats and are the same bunch of posers who squeaked by all year despite playing the 30th "most difficult" schedule in the NFL. Then you guys think some nose tackle on crutches changes everything. :tongue2:

they have difficulty against well balanced lines Offense and Defense. The way to beat the Ravens is to win the line of scrimmage and run, run, run. Be relentless running and take shots. Its going to be a long day. nothing glamorous & no suprises

I would look for Miami to take shots down field early, very early and a few times if they get in good situations like 2nd and short or first down.

I am hoping the same thing. The Ravens will come out with blitzes galore, if we can counter early I'd say they ease back. Hitting some passes early will be key in taking control of the game.

Actually I think that's Miami's best bet. Attack early, attack often. Try to turn it into a shootout. Especially considering that our dimeback may be starting today.
If this game turns into a defensive, ball control type of game, it will be disaster for Miami, that plays right into our strengths.

Really??? When are their playoff games?

I think if you're going deep you need to keep it tight to the sidelines. Anything loose in the middle and the next thing you see might just be Ed Reed celebrating a touchdown.

Anything deep regardless of where could very well end up with more highlight material for Reed...but it's a chance Miami is going to have to take.

Games not over yet but it hasn't been pretty. Pennington asked to shoulder the load because of the run game or therefore lack of and he makes mistakes. The Ed Reed factor came into play today; baited Pennington his way and got two turnovers off of it.
