Whats the hot list? Players who are going to be on fire next year, or players on theyre way out... Ill guess the latter
So far from what I've seen, Trent said he's not sure if he'll return, he says it depends on if he'll get medical clearance but he says he'd love to return to Miami next year. Said it was tough sitting on the sidelines, but he did as much as he could. Usual stuff we already knew about. He mentioned that he felt that he was trying to protect himself when he had that 2nd concussion. He said that he didn't want to take him head to head so he just dropped down because he felt that was a bit more safe. Mentioned that he didn't foresee him driving his kneecap into his head and that he'd take one for team if he had the chance again. Also said what he did was a legal move. He said that he seen someone do it once his first year and every year he asked if the rules changes about it. A few things that came up that I felt were interesting: -Trent buys all of his linemen a gift, he bought his linemen a massage chair from Sharper Image one year; this year he bought all of the linemen an iPod Touch. -Feels that Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis are the linebackers that he thinks "are crazy". -Also thinks that Champ Bailey is best cover corner. They also made some playoff predictions with Trent -Felt that the Jags can't defend the pass being Pittburgh threw for over 300 yards against them. Also felt that Brady could get rid of the ball in the spread set quicker than Big Ben so he expects less sacks. -Says that San Diego could upset Indianapolis. Also mentioned that Chambers is another threat in SD that is usually left on one-on-one coverage with LT/Gates around.
also said if he had to redo the block on Johnson, he would've still done it cause he was trying to help Teddy
heard Trent on PTI as well on the drive home. Did not hear the whole interview. Wilbon asked him if Cam, based upon this year's record, should of been fired. Trent said that based on the record only that Cam should of been fired. He then quickly said that as a friend, and based upon the rebuilding necessary that he wished Cam got another year. Also not surprising, he sung the praises of Parcells and said completely reasonable, and foreseeable, that Parcells would bring in his own people. I can almost guarantee that Trent will be highly sought after by the networks when he retires. very articulate guy.
he more than likely doesn't have one in the NFL anymore. He shouls think about playing football in the yard with his kids.
He has the whole package the networks look for : Looks, articulate, and not camera shy. I agree after his playing days are officially over, he can go two routes a) QB Coach b) TV analyst He'll be effective in either role.
It all depends on the doctors now. If they clear him, I expect him to try to either stay with the Dolphins (He did sign for 2 years), or if Parcells lets him go, try to catch on with someone else. Failing at that, QB Coach or TV Analyst.
