Does anyone know if there are any good Tight Ends available? Would someone like Fasano from Dallas be a good idea? He's behind Witten, but seems to be good.. Any thoughts?
Cooley isn't a FA. He just a roster bonus of 11 mil (that is not a misprint), which he can turn into a signing bonus and give Wash much needed cap relief. That is why he is RUMORED to be come a FA b/c of that part of his deal.
DUI's, I think he was suspended for four games aswell in Seattle. Had alcohol DWI issues in college. One of the reasons he was let go by Seattle. Plus he has butterfingers.
Becht and Stevens are garbage. Fasano would be nice, but I doubt Dallas parts with him. Troupe might not be too bad. Any chance David Martin gets a second chance?
LJ Smith, Eric Johnson, Ben Troupe is a good short list. I'd prefer to draft someone like Fred Davis, Rucker, or Carlson though.
Don't overlook Becht, not as a receiver, but as a blocking Te, we need one badly. Who knows about David Martin, he may be "Cam's guy" he can't block which really hurts his chances based on history, but one point in his favor is he works fairly cheaply and he can catch the ball...I think he ended up with 30+ receptions
Yeah he is gonna be a free agent. He should resign there, but might leave for more money. He is a playmaker, but still needs a good QB & WR's to keep on producing like he is.
Now that Bob Sanders has re-signed, I can see them using the franchise tag on Clark, which opens up their two offensive linemen (Scott and Lejia for the taking). Point here is, I doubt Clark goes anywhere one way or the other. I'm almost certain Indy will slap the franchise tag on him.
Sure L.J. Smith is a FA, but Eagles fans can't wait till someone else signs him. I just hope it's not Miami. I trust Ireland and Parcells in not making that move.
Martin is a FA bust. He was hurt, he had poor production, couldn't block. How is THAT a good deal even at a bargain price for a TE? We got rid of Randy McMichael and his 60 catches to bring in Martin and his 30 or so catches? Martin dropped a lot of passes too and is, at his best, a #2 TE. I think the Phins need to look to the draft for a TE, or maybe Utecht from the Colts as they can't keep both him and Clark (probably).
Fred Davis, Fred Davis, Fred Davis, Fred Davis please! ALthoguh I think we may have to move up from #32 to get him
Because we cannot replace everyone Deus ex dolphin, as I recall Martin had maybe 4 or 5 drops, maybe, and he was playing better at the end of the year then at the beginning. We could go with a rotation system at Te, with martin being the receiveing Te and Becht or whomever the blocking Te. How many drops did McMike have?
I'm just worried Davis has a huge combine. I'm also worried that the Eagles may not believe that Celek is the answer and take him. We'll see in due time. Rucker will be there if davis isn't.
True. I know mocks mean nothing at this point in time but many of them have the Eagle's taking Desaen Jackson. Which might not be a bad pick up. But like I said if they see Davis there, they might not pass him up.
Absolutely right. Winston Justice got his *** kicked in that game. I think they'll pick up a receiver in FA/Trade and focus on their other needs in the draft. Offensive line sounds good for them. Long falling that far tho? I'm not sure.
I'd like to draft one with the late-2nd rounder from San Diego. If Fred Davis falls, which he probably won't, then I think he should be a lock on target. If not, I'd go with Martin Rucker. People fail to realize how important it is to have a TE who can make plays for your offense.
Getting a TE is big time important. It will also provide a security blanket for Beck. Acquiring a te and improving the guard spots should be priorities one and two for our offense.
I heard Ben Utech is a FA. he may be someone to look into. he is young and has performed well in the games hes played in (from what I saw)
Much like on the Bills site, Because we need a TE as well. I am saying stay away from any of the FAs and go in the draft. The only FA I would look at would be Clark But he will be tagged
There is some decent TE depth in this draft depending on what you are looking for in your TE. I would LOVE Fred Davis because I think he represents the all terrain TE that Jason Whitten is in Dallas.
I dont think Dallas is going anywhere. They may even give him an extension this year. He is such an intricate part of their offense and I dont think their offense wouldnt be as productive with him in it. There arent too many TE's in the league that can do what he does for Indy. Hes the only TE in the league I see lining up in the slot on a regular basis
I agree you have Davis, Bennett Carlson Keller Rucker Tamme that is just to name a few Then you have the other TE from Mizzou Finley Joe Jone Finley I think this will be a great TE draft
I agree Clark will not go anywhere. Bottomline Once Sanders signed his long term it allows them now to keep clark with the Tag IF needed
