I'm barely into Oblivion (Level 2 going on Level 3), and I've already been infected by vampirism. I'm not at all thrilled, as I have a feeling this could hamper my character. Am I overreacting?
Nah. I found it annoying, because the daylight can kill you. You can get some cool buffs, and you're own lair. I can't for the life of me remember how to cure it, but it can be cured.
I had that once upon a time. I would've kept going with it but I sold the xbox. I'd say keep playing with the vamp.
I forgot how to cure it also.. damn.. .now I want to play Oblivian.. I ended up as leader of the assassins.
I think there is a potion you can take to cure it. If you become a vampire you have to go on a long quest to find a bunch of herbs to cure it.
Curing vamparism is a pain in the ***. Once you do you're immune. The Vamp buffs are nowhere near the annoyance of dying in daylight. I'd cure it. http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Cure-Vampirism-In-Oblivion&id=172053
Vampirism is not a big deal at all. I have "started" the quest to cure it, but don't really care to. As long as you feed once in awhile, daylight doesn't hurt you at all. Feeding is really easy and there are lots of places you can do it without being caught.
Just be aware of the time of day and remember that the longer you go without feeding the uglier and more powerful you become.
To hijack this thread is there a race you absolutely would not play as? I'm thinking of getting this game for PC
in games like this i usually like to keep options open by picking a middle of the line race, so i tend to avoid the pure soldiers and pure magicians (i suppose thats redguards and the elves?)- can't really go wrong though with whatever you choose
quick should I get the regular edition or the GOTY edition? does it matter? edit: bought GOTY edition. gotta wait til jan 26th to feb 2
yup i went that route and was very happy i did so. oblivion has given me 80+ hours of gameplay and i haven't even beaten it yet. such an expansive game..
Funny thing - I been seriously hooked on Fallout lately and thats made me want to give Oblivion another run. Boy can Bethesda make a game.
Heh Oblivion. Fun game to be sure, and easy to exploit if your into that kind of thing. I made myself an uberstealthy person and went around stealing pretty much every item from every house in the game. The wife played the game by getting a super stealth spell as well and everytime she ran into enemies shed kill one then vanish until they all drifted apart, reappear and kill one, dissapear etc. Was pretty exploitative but also quite fun and funny to watch. One of the nice things about the game is there are tons of ways to play it. There are also tons of guides, helps and walkthroughs for just about every facet of the game if you get stuck or run into any big problems or just want to figure out something to do, like what to do with vampirism.
yup definitely. i got bored when i had chameleon armor and a chameleon spell which put me up to 100%, so i could just go around and do/kill whatever with no repercussions. i'll have to go back and play again without using the armor to make it challenging again. but for now, i have fallout
Yeah, today my project is to create a new archer character. I'll hold the magic user's save slot and pick him up later.
I started my new character and was thrilled to have the suggested class (Agent) match the way I tried to play the character during the tutorial. I'm having a blast.
haha me too.....i haven't played it in so long but think it's time to buy it again.....guess I won't be seeing the wife for awhile haha
It's been almost a week since I played ... I'm starting to twitch. Luckily, I have lots of time next week.
I've dropped the vampire character for now, but I understand vampires can feed on the homeless in the bad parts of town as long as no guards are around.
Easiest place to feed without getting caught that I've found so far is the Bruma Cloud Temple. Always lots of folks in there snoozing to feast on. Usually nobody around to catch you either. Some of the fighter guilds are good too, but you have to watch out for that pesky porter following you around.
