Yeah I had noticed that earlier. There are eight or so teams in the NFL that run the 3-4 and three of them will ne in the AFC East.

I think he was being sarcastic because of the "No adjustments" quote.

the past 3 years we ran a base 3-4 that morphed into a 4-3 *hybrid. WOOOOooooooo

You know for all of the "hybrid 3-4" mumbo jumbo we seemed to be in a 4-3 about 80% of the time in 2007 to me.

Crowder is an underachiever. Has been his entire career to this point. He never makes any big play that changes a game. We can do better then him.

Hes been tossed around on the strong side, and gets even more tossed around in the middle

Crowder looks like a guy who runs a 5.0 second 40 yard dash. He looks sluggish. After watching him on film over and over, it is painfully obvious that he takes himself out of too many plays. Then when teams run it right at him, he gets knocked back and can't get off blocks. He is soft.

The problem with Crowder, I think, has less to do with actual straight line speed and more to do with an inability to quickly diagnose plays. He always seems to be taking the wrong angle and I feel like I'm always watching him fight through trash. Zach would get out ahead of the play and beat the blocker to the point of attack. It's like watching the great center fielders who read the ball off the bat and get a huge jump. I don't know if it can be coached into Crowder or not, but he plays linebacker reactively rather than proactively.

The thing that irks me so much about Crowder is the fact that he always runs his mouth and tries to act so funny all the time when he gets interviewed by the media. The guy underachieves all the time and yes I agree with you. Crowder is not as quick as Zach is and he can't read plays. I think the guy isn't very smart and has hardly any instincts for the position. Combine that with him playing soft and not making any big plays when he does get the chance and it aggravates the heck out of you when you watch him. We need to look for an upgrade. We should entertain trade offers for him. Hopefully Parcells watches film and sees the same thing that we all see in Crowder.

If you wanna go by stats and averages, Zach was still more productive in 5 games than Crowder was in 11, and if you wanna go by talent, well, there really is no comparison

IDK about that, NE might be looking to improve their aging LB unit and might look at players like Gholston or Lauranitis. They might even do what they have done so well for many years and trade down to acquire more draft picks.

    Lets see

NE is now on the clock......

NE Trades thier First to some idiot team for this years first and their 1st round selection next year.

With the pick from the Idiot team NE selects Laurenitus, Conner, Rivers which ever LB is there.

Crowder better watch his Arse. The NFL is not just a place for the best athletes in the world to show case their abilities but it is an insiders club. This guy better have a MAJOR leap forward in his ability to make plays and make a difference in games or he will get cut. He will then be our trash and somebody else's project, maybe a special teamer on a mediocre team for a couple years then out of the league FOREVER.

It is astounding to me. The window of opportunity for players is so small and so few ever even get a chance. A guy like Crowder has so much God given ability and he seems to have put so little into getting himself to the next level. I am not impressed and would be glad to see him cut if he does not return next year with MARKED improvement. See ya, would not want to be ya!

I disagree, Firstly Briggs is going to cost way too much and half the reason he has success in Chicago is his they run a 4-3 with 4 huge DLmen allowing Briggs to make plays, which is something Miami does not have, and secondly, Crowder has shown me NOTHING that says he could take over Zachs MLB position. If anything he has shown me he cant. In the games this year that he has played in the middle he has not done anything to impress. he needs to stay on the strong side. I dont think Zachs replacement is currently on our roster, he is somewhere in the draft.

Agreed. He would not be the same player in a 3-4 defense. As far as Channing MLB is not his calling in this defense or any defense.

IMO there's far too much risk involved to pay a guy like Briggs a boatload of money when there are no assurances he could thrive in a 3-4.

I disagree. It's not the system. We need better players.

The Patriots thrive with their hybrid defense. Practically any system will work if you have the talent to make it work.

I would rather bring in Karlos Dansby. He would fit better in a 3-4 and can blitz, cover, and tackle very well. Plus, he'll be cheaper than Briggs, who wouldn't want to play in a 3-4.

get rid of crowder and end up with an even older defense! no thanks. If we we were winning we wouldn't be hearing about Crowder. Crowder is an ok Linebacker and I am willing to keep him.

exactly what's wrong with the dolphins get rid of guys and you end up with no depth. when starters goes down they dont have anybody to step in.

I agree. Keep Crowder for depth purposes. We are already void of depth.

Ware will not be traded specially by just offering a 1st and Zach.

Zach is not going to get you much more than a 4th in value IMO

Considering IF they would need LBs they are in perfect position to get one of the top ones in the 1st or with their second 1st

heres the thing about dallas and LB's... the have great depth there. there first rounder two years ago, carpenter isnt hardly getting play time. he has only started a few games due to injury of the starter.
