The hiring of new quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler also played into the decision, Tebow said.
Loeffler, who was quarterbacks coach for the Detroit Lions in 2008, could help Tebow develop the skills he needs to play quarterback in the NFL. Loeffler helped coach Miami Dolphins rookie Chad Henne and New England Patriots star Tom Brady while at the University of Michigan.
He also developed a strong relationship with Tebow during Tebow's college recruitment. Their relationship has come full circle, with Tebow helping recruit Loeffler to Florida to replace Dan Mullen, who is now the head coach at Mississippi State.
"Coach Meyer really trusted me a lot with being in on that," Tebow said. Loeffler "is the best in the country, he's the best there is, and I'm excited about it."

    From Peter King's Monday column.....
Despite what many of the keyboard GM's/Scouts out there think, there are plenty of people in the know that think pretty highly of Tebow.

I would welcome Tebow to the Pat's...he sure as HELL wouldnt play Qb there so isnt King's article a little contradictory?

Or does he really think NE would draft Tebow as a QB?

New England would groom him and I actually think that offense fits him best. I don't want to see him go there, but he would be a back-up to who ever the starter is. Any team could also use him on short yardage and goaline plays cause there are soooo many options with him

Really? How do you explain the same teams who get these meaningless top players being powerhouses?

Not gonna continue the debate but I seriosly doubt Tebow is an NFL QB...he doesnt have the mechanics.

    But ya never know.

Yeh, you could give the same arguement for Doug Flutie.

While you can also say "Mechanics" is an overused, sometimes meaningless stat, I.E. Rex Grossman, Tim Couch, Leaf.

[IMG]The NCAA updates its stats following the bowls. The teams that finished first and second nationally in toughest schedules, according to the NCAA? Oklahoma was first, Florida second. Going into the postseason, OU was first and Florida fourth. Both played bad Football Championship Subdivision (i.e., Division I-AA) foes, but it certainly didn't seem to hurt.

The way I read it, he just used NE as an example because of the Meyer/Belichick ties. Who knows though.

Sometimes yes, but I think when its obvious a guy lacks (right now) the ability to make consistent NFL throws thats just icing on the cake.

I think he can make alot of the throws. Most people complain about not being in a pro offense and mechanics. However there are always going to be scouts who have something bad to say about every player. I am not saying that Tebow will be a Great QB, But I do think he has a good shot at being a good QB.

Im not one of these guys who parade around saying there is "No chance" he becomes a good Qb, Its just hard for me to imagine him standing in a NFL pocket making consistent throws.

But hey what do I know I thought Cedric Benson was going to be better than Ronnie.

I realize that, that is why the stars mean something. They may not guarentee anything but they are 4 and 5 star recruits for a reason.
