Upset wins by the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals last weekend have helped the Dolphins move up a spot in the first round of April's NFL Draft. The Cardinals (9-7) and Eagles (9-6-1) would have both picked higher than the Dolphins (11-5) based on worse regular-season records. Great news. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/other/sfl-flspdolphins13sbjan13,0,63657.story
Yup. Hopefully we get a guy no one thinks will be around at 25. I don't know who; but that would be awesome.
I thought I read in another thread awhile back that only the superbowl teams have any bearing on draft order?
6-4 260? if thats not a prototypical Sparano LB I dont know what is... thats a great size.. hope he can show something
No kidding, can you imagine how long we'll ahve to wait on draft day this year till were on the clock. Def. something were not used to
With a very competent management it might be better not to draft TOP 10 and commit a huge part of the cap with a possible bust. See Pats, Colts, Steelers... It's a weird thought but maybe I'd rather draft at 15-30 range with Parcells and Ireland in charge than draft at 1-15 range with Cam/Mueller/Saban/Wannstedt in charge. The risk/reward ratio seems safer now.
Ive always believed in this since recent years when the rookie salaries have gotten out of control... They say the most value is in the 2nd round, and I believe that... Have a top 10 pick, the risk is much higher than the reward... for example, long was a great pick, the best pick for us, but is he worth a 30 million dollar contract? After 1 year, that question still has yet to be answered, unlike a 4 year veteran, who earned it after 4 years... Id much rather have a late 1st rounder on salary cap effect alone
Im not really good with the drafting of college players until closer to the draft, then I start paying more attention to them, but that would be my wish ultimately
