Its also a joke that he got 3 All Pro votes, I honestly don't see what writers and everybody else saw in him this year. I mean he was injured for 3 games and still gave up the most sacks in the NFL, imagine if he had been in those 3 games.
Sacks allowed doesn't even tell half the story. If I had to rank them: LT: 1. Jake Long 2. Jason Peters 3. D'Brickashaw Ferguson 4. Matt Light LG: 1. Alan Faneca 2. Logan Mankins 3. Justin Smiley 4. Derrick Dockery C: 1. Nick Mangold 2. Samson Satele 3. Duke Preston 4. Dan Koppen RG: 1. Stephen Neal 2. Ikechuku Ndukwe 3. Brandon Moore 4. Brad Butler RT: 1. Vernon Carey 2. Damien Woody 3. Langston Walker 4. Nick Kazcur
How the jets got so many pro bowlers i really dont understand. They weren't even good this year to be honest. Thomas Jones deserves it and thats about it.
Scott Pioli, when speaking to the media during his PC announcing his new gig with KC, stated individuals go to Pro Bowls. But teams win championships. So, yeah I agree with ya.
This tells me two things... 1)The pro bowl has lost basically all credibility (Which I have knows for a few years now) 2)Carey needs to perform better!
Neither of the TEAMS got that..so.... And Pioli's team did not even make the playoffs this year. No Brady, no Sb
True, and I cannot believe for the life of me I am saying this, but, they were only 1 game removed from the playoffs
Thanks for the breakdown of the O-lines... In all honesty Im surprised Ndukwe had only given up 1 sack... I figured it would have been alot more than that... but carey and satele giving up 4.5 each? That cant sit well with the FO when it comes contract time in the near future for Carey. I knew Satele had a tough go this year... I just would have figured Ndukwe would have given up more sacks on the right side than Carey did... interesting.... thanks again.
That's great and all but it says nothing about run-block ability... I hated watching Ronnie and Ricky getting constantly hit in the backfield! I would LOVE to see what Ronnie would do with a solid run-blocking line and a few more carries a game... Hopefully I'll get my chance!
I agree. In due time. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it's definitely MUCH improved from the past, to say the least. =D
No kidding, Carey just fell down a couple of times this year dropping back to pass block, IMO the Staff had him add too much weight and it made him less effective as a pass blocker and messed with his balance.
Looking at those Patriots numbers, I can't help but wonder how much of those sacks came in the first part of Cassel's season. Cassel held on to the ball very long for quite a while and then started getting rid of it quicker in the later parts of the season.
