None of those dudes excite me, even TJ.

If we can draft a big WR in one of the first 3 rounds, we'd have as our WRs:

    -Big Rookie
    -Camarillo
    -Bess
    -Ginn, Jr.
    -London

I could live with that. We don't need a speedy little guy in free agency. We got enough of those dudes.

    I agree.

There's more to the article than just WRers, though.

Everyone would love the big Calvin Johnson 6'5 230 running a 4.3 with great hands, but those WRs are extremely rare. with London at 6'4 and hops, i have faith if we wanted a jump ball we could count on him that one time.

However, what everyone really needs a big WR for is not just height, but mostly, their physical play, their ability to move the chains and go over the middle and their toughness with ability to break tackles.

Dispite TJs "small" 6'1 frame, he is a possesion WR. Which is what everyone really wants with they say a big WR. TJ has lanky arms, good hands, plays with toughness, can break tackles, and moves the chains. he is that "big" WR your wanting. just not a rookie.

I'd like a 2nd chance at Bryant Johnson, I wanted him last year instead of Wilford. He isn't going to be a true #1 WR (there aren't any available anyway), but he's tall, a good route runner and he can block well in the running game.

I also think we should retain Carey, whether he stays at RT or we move him to RG to add more size to the position, we need him back. We can't just expect Thomas to come back from injury and play well, and from reports the G class isn't that good this year. If Thomas does come back and play well he could be part of a pretty good rotation at G. But the OL definitely needs some work, Satele doesn't really fit into the power running game and with Brown possibly being available and Mack/Unger there in the draft, fixing the C spot should be a priority, this team needs to be able to run the ball up the middle.

As far as defense, Dansby would be the prize (Asomugha isn't going anywhere), but Bart Scott is probably more realistic. I can't imagine that Arizona is going to let Dansby walk after letting Pace leave last year, I think they had resigning Dansby in mind when they let Pace leave for NY. I'm not a Crowder fan, the guy doesn't have the instincts to make plays, he lets the plays come to him. We need LB's who can rush the QB, adding Scott and another LB through the draft would be a step in the right direction. Not perfect, but a step in the right direction.

Carlos Dansby or Bart Scott and Jason Brown would be good pickups.

I'd love Atogwe or Asomugha, but I doubt either hit the open market.

I just wish there was a BIG WR out there, but that doesn't look to be the case. Unless we can trade for Anquan Boldin.
    Now that would be awesome.
Just thinking out loud, but what about a Boldin for Ronnie Brown trade?
'Zona needs a #1 RB and we need a #1 WR.

That's why if we don't really get any WRs in FA and Derrick Williams is there in rd 3, or even late 2nd I would be happy with him. He is tough, can do it all, and still is a threat to take any catch to the house.

Given our front office's MO last offseason, I thik we'll spend with value in mind. So no bidding wars on the top guys.

    1) I think Toomer would be an excellent fit. Mentor to the young WRs. Great routes, hands, clutch, can make all the catches. Clayton is still too much a vertical receiver and we already have Ginn for that.

    2) Brown would be a lovely addition, though now we have to factor in new O-line coach, Dave DeGuglielmo's opinion now, I think. He may not prefer oversized power centers. I know he wasn't choosing the players in NY, nor was he the O-line coach there (just the assistant), so maybe the players on the Giants line don;t reflect his philosophy, but I think Samson Satele (6-3, 300lbs)is closer to being like Giants Center Shaun O'Hara (6-3, 303lbs) than Jason Brown is (6-3, 320 lbs). This new O-line coach may get the chance to bring Samson back to 2007 form. I feel that Samson and Vernon, two quieter guys on that O-line, regressed under the constant onslaught of Maser's abrasive demeanor and 'teaching methods' (i.e screaming constantly). Maybe we keep Samson at center and take a pass on Brown.

    3) I'd like to see Suggs or Dansby. Suggs shoulder may affect our desire, and/or his market price. Either one would be an upgrade for us in the LB corps.

I'm quite sure even they would say there is a huge diff. They were not Super Bowl Champs and MVPs every season in the NFL

i agree, I like toomer a lot. specially for this team. he would be a great compliment to our current corp. also, im hoping for Suggs, Dansby or Bart Scott. landing one of those 3 would be a great improvement to what we have..
