Last time I checked, those are not the only two personality types. And those two personality types are not mutually exclusive. Posted via Mobile Device
No, I'm not saying Warner is a product of his WR. I think he's a really solid QB, at one time, great. He sucks at handling pressure in his face though, more so then any great QB should. But I do think The Marks brothers are not in the same league as Holt and Bruce (two of the greatest ever). Marino allowed them to have the type of success they never could of had elsewhere. 3-4" is quite a bit... Especially 25+ yards down the field. Ask any scout. Steve Smith they were not. Watching the Arizona game, Marino could never throw a hail mary and let his WR just do a jump ball like Fitz did. He had to be deadly accurate. lol, OK. You're talking about two of the greatest WR of all time. 5. OK... 6. I have bought all kinds of Dolphin games from the 80's on DVD from Ebay (A collection of Marino's greatest hits). So yeah, don't pull that card, especially since you're 32! You haven't seen Holt/Bruce Fitz/Boldin play every game of their careers, but you can judge them? Not sure where you're going with this. I've seen them plenty. They had talent. But they were great because Marino allowed them to be. http://www.footballdb.com/players/mark-clayton-claytma01 http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DupeMa00.htm These guys are better the Holt/Bruce and Fitz/Boldin? I'm a homer too, but get that weak stuff out of here.
Well no QB has won 2 Super Bowls on 2 different teams and we all thought Brett Favre may have had the best chance. If the Eagles had a defense toward the end of their game...... Earl Morral went to 2 Super Bowls, started in one and played back-up to that infamous 72 season he rarely gets credit for. As for Warner, what is it with the gloves.......? A few years ago I wanted to go after him when we really needed a QB......... I am pulling for the Cards...... d-1
Warner said people (pundits, writers, etc...) were saying he fumbled a lot because he didn't have strong enough hands... So he added gloves to get a stronger grip on the ball.
Warner is one of my all time fav. QBs. He is in the top 2 or 3 in accuracy, and he throws down the field more than most do these days. That is a great combo
I don't think you should be so upset. If that is his inspiration what is wrong with that? When athlete's thank God I think most are thanking him for Guidance, inspiration, helping them keep their attitude focused. I really doubt any of them think God actually changed the laws of physics and helped them make that catch or long run. No credible person of faith would actually believe that. By taking your objection to it's logical conclusion if your praise your coach or teammates when you win, then you should rip them when you lose right? Faith in God can help focus your energy away from destructive habits and encourage good life and work habits. It can also give you strength to keep pounding the gridiron when your body is screaming for the hot tub. If it is his way of getting inspiration and it works for him then I say good for him.
