A mission like that was the last thing I was expecting when I went in that vault.

You can meet him in the little food shack his family runs by the bomb - you have to see him at night in the water plant to get them.

I didn't even bother with either. Eff her.

I'm in the archives now going for the declaration of independace or whatever . Damn robots. Plus I can't find the security terminal to disable the turrets.

EDIT: Anyone know the best weapon to take out robots? I have pulse grenades and mines, but if you are actually shooting them, what is most effective?

Man I don't know - thankfully I haven't had to come across many of them. I mainly pulse grenades and weaken them enough so an up an close greeting with the shotgun finishes the job.

Something that is automatic and shoots rapidly. They're kind of armored so it takes more shots usually no matter what you're using. If the Sydney chick dies on the way her gun is awesome and can take out the robot and turrets pretty easily. You'll take a bit of damage, just be prepared. Her armor is good too.

For some reason, I want to keep her alive. I'll keep loading the last save point if she dies. I feed her stimpaks and everything.

But now that I know her gun is awesome, I may wack her once I get the papers with her help. :wink2:

Thanks for this tip. I found last night that an automatic gun also works well against the Enclave soldiers.

As far as this chick - what gun does she have??

Ok I been to jury street several times now looking for this gun. And everytime I get a nice welcome by some Talon Mercs. Hate those *******s.

Anyhow it seems I need to trigger something for this guy to appear. Do you remember exactly where these hidden messages are? Or the terminal??

the weapon is on a dead body behind the counter in the diner... the terminals thing took quite awhile. you had to find the passwords left throughout 5 different terminals and then on the last one he leaves you a note on where to meet, which says meet me at the jury street diner.

She has some kind of Ultra 10mm SMG. I'm assuming it has a higher rate of fire than the norm.

Yeah she has a custom 10MM SMG that has a damage rating of around 41 and fires very rapidly. It's the only 10MM I've used consistently up to this point. I never tried to kill Sydney or anything, I even gave her a stimpak but it didn't seem to hurt much for her to die either. I got her stuff and didn't have to worry about splitting the reward or anything. She was so wreckless I'm not surprised that she was killed on the way through that mission.

the only difference I've seen between normal and unique versions of items is a higher magazine capacity and higher damage.

    Question for you guys:

I'm just about to update the Ram on my comp (hp compaq, windows) so it'll now be a possibility for me to play games on it.

Is there a big difference between the comp and xbox versions?

What kind of controllers do those of you who play on a comp use?

If you play FPS games on the CPU with keyboard and mouse, you will never, NEVER, want to play on a console again.

Carefull, dont say I didn't warn you.

EDIT: There is no comparison. PC is better all the way through if you have a good enough computer. Graphics and framerate will always be better on PCs. Problem is, the updating costs for PCs. That is the only knock on them, and is the reason why everyone prefers consoles. Buy one, and thats it, you are good for years.

i used to play FPS on PC all the time (HL2, BF2, Counter Strike, and many more) and I've had absolutely no issues converting to a dual analog controller. Almost prefer the controller better due to less complex layouts.

With a controller developers actually had to put thought into a layout instead of just putting whatever in there and forcing gamers to spend hours trying to build the most comfortable and playable layout.

Does this game have any other options after you beat it?

Any multiplayer or any other side games?

i would respond with "it doesn't really need to have anything else because beating it takes so long in and of itself"- but i know what you mean. i think with a game like this the replay value comes in the way of being able to play through the game again, with a different character making completely different decisions, leaving you in essence with a completely new game, just with the same-ish plot

EDIT: that and since the game is so expansive, chances are you missed a lot the first time around and can find whole new areas and people to play with. (that is of course unless you're an anal rpg player like myself who will explore every nook and cranny; hence the above post of spending 2 hours in the Nuka-Cola factory. also, i'm about 85 hours in on Oblivion and am nowhere close to beating it yet, but i'm a top rank in nearly all the guilds you can join.. i tend to find sidequests much more interesting in these games)

    Question:

I was just trying to get all the Bobbleheads and I found out that I missed one that I can't get back to. Could I start a new game and only collect the one that I missed will I get the achievement or do I have to get them all in one Game save?

Yeah this game is crazy big -

I've gone back to the main quest the past 5 days or so and I find that I have the most fun when I'm just exploring and finding side quests. I'm in no rush to get through this game.

I bought the game for PS3 when it released and it didn't have trophy support at the time. I've since downloaded the update for trophy support but it didn't give me the trophies for the stuff I had done before then. I would probably assume you'll have to get them all in one game.

I'm also trying to get this one. My guess would be that you have to get them in the same game.

Did you miss the one in Raven Rock? Is there any others that you can't go back and get?

why is it so hard to get to rivet city? I was down in the south west and was just like 'hey, why not just go east til i get there?' no, that doesn't work, because apparently there is a solid wall of buildings that goes vertically from the bottom of the map about 3/4 of the way up to the north. WTF. so stupid. the rest of the map is country with some cities, but the entire southeast is freakin Coruscant? BS i tells ya.

EDIT: i do love this game and this is only a minor inconvenience, i'm only complaining because we just lost at pub trivia and i'm bitter about that, so it's carrying over to here. that and the 3 buckets of bud lights we had :drink:

Yeah, I missed the Raven Rock bobblehead. Megaton would be the other if you blow it up.

I was frustrated by that too. The map is structured in a way that you kinda have to go a certain way and unfortunately the chose way is usually littered with raiders and mutants.

I found a point where you can walk across the river not too far from the citadel. I got to rivet city without having to go through sewers and metro tunnels that way.
