Pure speculation, do we sign Terry Glenn?

No thanks. I would rather us just draft one. Or do what we did when we got devon Bess try an undrafted free agent out. We are trying to rebuild and get younger. A 35 yearold wide reciver does not fit the script.

 

If this guy was healthy, I'd say yes but I think with two bad knees including two surgeries last off-season, I don't see it happening.

 

I'd be surprised to see him taking part in camp. Last year I expected him to take part in camp but he had the knee surgeries. I can't see us bringing in a guy who has bad knees and hasn't played football in a year.

 

Right, padre. However, those guys were healthy and still had something left. I'm not sure that applies to Terry Glenn.

 

I'm not liking that option. I feel we have a decent corps but if we want to take a chance at a wide reciever lets make it a draft pick, not a 35 year old vet with bad knees

 

Why would we sign Terry Glenn when there are other wide reciver out there that are younger and are better then him. Like Anquan Boldin and TJ

Yes but Terry Glenn is 35. I just dont think we will sign him. He is old did not play last year and the year before that he was hurt. Why would sign a guy who has been out of the league for almost 2 years. If we want to sign a guy Bill Parcells really know why dont we got sign Keyshawn Johnson.

 

That's one thing that I think is a bit overblown. I think if you can play and have shown to be a model citizen in the locker room, they'll go after you. T.J. Houshmanzadeh is a good player but he's 31 and will be 32 near the start of the season. He's likely to look for a big payday and I don't think we should give him one. He's coming off of successful years in Cincinnati but playing opposite of Chad Johnson, who prior to this year had very good years and demanded attention (on and off the field). Furthermore, I think a guy that isn't very healthy and is coming off of zero playing time in the last year is not going to be in the plans. I may be wrong but in my opinion, I don't see him in this teams plans.

 

Alot of people didnt think Peterson was going to change the run game in Minnesota his first year did they? People didnt think Flacco+Ryan would take teams that did poor the year before to the playoffs that season now did they? Crazy things can happen. Who knows, Ginn could really take off next year and be great, you cant tell me thats not possible.

 

They could possibly do that but he would have to pass a physical first. Can he do that? Not so sure.

From what I know, he had torn cartilage and then re-injured it after rushing back. Then had another surgery last off-season that took his hopes away of playing this past season.

 

Not really backing the Glenn idea, but because Glenn would come to Miami a TON cheaper than both of those players.

 

I would have absolutely no problem with bringing Glenn in for a look see. For that matter I wouldn't care if they gave my neighbor a try out - he's in his fifties. It doesn't really matter..
Whether its Glenn or my neighbor; if he can't play, he won't be on the team. But if he can, then we just got a vet WR. If his knees are healed then Glenn is a better option than a guy like Hagen who can't hold onto the ball. Going younger is meaningless if it's just for the sake of getting younger

Yea and he did not take it. I thought the contract they offered him was fair. If he got hurt agian he would have to give some of his money back. I think if we did ever get him we should offer him the same exact contract.

 

Watch it...I resemble that remark....seriously, I agree, I'm not a big Glenn fan, but if he gets thru the physical and they think he may have something left, fine....bring him in for TC and see what happens...they can stay with London and Armstrong if they want...

 

Ok but really if Terry Glenns carree is not over already. How long do you think he will be with the dolphins? Not long. He is old he would be here 2 years tops. Plus why would you want an old wide reciver taking time away from our young wide recivers. A lot of people are dissapointed about Ted Ginn Jr progression. So we are going to get a guy who will take receptions away
from Ted Gin Jr.

 

I don't think we bring Glenn in for the reasons already mentioned. Our WR's weren't that bad last year, I think the one thing that was missing was a big red zone target, which was the role that Wilford was supposed to fill. I'd prefer to look to the draft or bring in a guy like Bryant Johnson.

 

No to Glenn, but i do hope we sign a Vet WR considering we have nothing but young WRs currently with not much experience. An Amani Toomer would be perfect. or maybe even a Bobby Engram

 

My initial reaction to Terry Glenn is "hell no".But then again my initial reaction to Chad Pennington was also "hell no". So, what the hell do I know.

no... not worth it when you're trying to get these kids playing football... trying to build a team unity. and then you bring and old declining vet that haven't played really for long time, for a decent amount of money, to try and take over some WR spots that you are trying to bring along with development and experience.... not what i want to put the kids through at all.

 

This isn't minor league baseball. If your team is good enough to win it all, then you can ill afford to sacrifice production for development.

I'm not saying Terry Glenn is the answer. Quite frankly I have my doubts. But if it's a low-risk option that could pay off handsomely, you have to take a look. We have Ginn, we have Bess. Camirillo is a question mark until he proves himself healthy and back to the same level he was. London has upside, but is still raw. That's not a lot to hang your hat on.

 

I could see parcells bringing in Keyshawn before Glenn. But i don't see either coming in.

 

Glenn is not the answer... thats all i said. i dont want him in miami, and i said why.... i didnt say anything else about bringing in another WR... jsut not Glenn

 

log jam, or a great battle at the WR position??? bring in a possible Barden for size and red zone help, great hands... then we got a bunch of different types of WR's for different situations... it fits together in time, in practice. we have some talent, jsut need to improve that talent.

Glenn is old, what is he really going to be around for? he'll only take time away from our kids experience on the field, and its not gonna be a great mental thang for the WR's seeing this old guy getting paid more than them playing for a year or so, and then gonna be gone anyways afterwards.
