The nerve! Capcom Microsoft (surprisingly) dropped an RE5 demo today... But only in Japan... Demo: BIOHAZARD (Japan only) - Xbox Live's Major Nelson
Good to hear. Also for my random post of the day; did anyone else know GTAIV had PS3 trophies now? I didn't but its true.
As much as I want to play the game, I don't have a problem with them showing love to Japan on this. After all, Biohazard is their franchise and the US is going to get the Demo eventually. Is Co-Op play in the Japanese Demo?
I knew it was coming for a couple weeks now. Anyway, I was under the assumption that demos can be downloaded and burned to a disc and be played on Xbox 360's...even unmodded ones. Matter of fact, let me link you to a helpful post I saw earlier. Link It looks like there is co-op in the demo according to posts on another forum.
just played it, i'm impressed. Graphics look great and the game seems solid. My one MAJOR problem is that you cant move when you aim. It's 2008 capcom, c'mon
If I am right on my information then next Thursday the PSN Store will have both the Killzone 2 and RE5 Demos up on the same day (Feb. 5th).
I dont get all the Killzone hype, the first game was mediocre but it had a kick *** story from what I've heard.
This. Also, after using the superior Resident Evil 4 Wii control scheme, these controls feel even more archaic. Online co-op is nice though.
It worked for the first 5 games because you weren't fighting a lot of enemies at once, and you were encouraged not to fight at most instances. Since the game is focused more on action instead of survival the tank controls should go.
Yeah, it worked for me. Pretty much, yeah. I'll get used to the controls again but after playing Dead Space the control feels way out of date.
I don't get where the complaints about the control scheme comes from unless it is from people who haven't played much RE4. It feels identical to me in nearly every way except aiming seems a bit more refined. I actually miss the old games a ton, maybe I'm weird though. The tank controls of RE never bothered me much because of the compelling story & atmosphere it brought to the table. That says a lot too, considering how the franchise was well known for having terrible voice acting & a predictable plot. There is just something about those titles that really drew me in. RE:Code Veronica is still to this day one of my favorite games. I bought a playstation for resident evil 1-3 I bought a dreamcast for resident evil: CV I bought a gamecube for resident evil 0/remake/RE4 I bought a 360 for RE5...march cannot get here fast enough! Capcom drives my console purchases with one franchise, and have done so for years. As much as I am a fanboy of the old RE style, I still appreciate the "new school" changes to the game. I just wish there was a better way to mesh the two styles together or just start to make some games in the old style along side the current action packed titles.
I am thinking of grabbing Killzone 2 the day it comes out. To tell you how rare it is that I do that the last 2 games I have bought the day they were released in about the last 5 years were MGS4 and GTAIV. I can't wait.
so I downloaded the demo tonight and played a bit, and was very disappointed. The graphics are great, but the controls.......mehhhhhhhhhhhh....they are absolutely archaic. I'm pretty sure I won't be buying this game now. That sucks because I was really looking forward to a new game that I could play co-op on line.
Played the demo last night and I agree with Firesole the controls imo are crappy. The graphics are great but hate the controls and not being able to move while you shoot? WTF!
the controls you can get used to though. I enjoyed the demo, unless when my online line buddy wasnt doing something stupid like not running the hell away from the executioner or the dude with the chainsaw. At least you still need to conserve ammo, I found myself running out quickly. The thing is I don't want to wind up babysitting somebuddy half the time.
The way it has always been with Resident Evil, and thankfully it will always be that way. This is not a pure action game, it has always added to suspense in the game when you have to hold steady to aim. If you want to run n gun, there is always Devil May Cry.
