Well ladies and gentleman that time many of us that could be labled old timers have been dreading.

The Orange Bowl demolition is underway.

Interesting how pieces of concrete, seats and even urinals are going to be sold paired with either UM or Dolphins memoribilia. I'll never foget buying season tickets as a High School kid by working at Hagen Daas and Boat Waxing jobs I would pick up, the rest of the tix prices I saved by not eating lunch and saving the money!

I think I'd actually buy those seats if I had the extra cash at this time.

One of the greatest "bonding" experiences with my late dad and I happened in those seats during that 85 Undefeated Bears/Phins game. He hadn't been to a game since the mid 70's and what a game to go to after an absence like that huh?

The Orange Bowl will ALWAYS be ingraned in my fondest memeories of the Phins and Hurricanes. Actually I think of the home field advantage we had at the OB every single time I walk into the poorly designed Dolphin (Condo) Stadium for a game.

    RIP OB!
Wish things could have been different!

For anyone interested in bidding on items they will be listed on www.orangebowlstadium.com

What a disgrace! I was in town last week and stopped by the old girl to take some pictures. I wouldn't mind having the sign that says "MIAMI ORANGE BOWL", but I'm sure that will be out of my price range. Oh yeah and I wouldn't know where to put it :)

The FIRST time I went to the ORANGE BOWL was for a class trip for Crime Stoppers Week in the summer of 1981. I met a few players and got some autographs too! It was one of the best experiences of my life, because I already liked the team watching them play on TV. I went to so many Dolphins and Hurricanes games thru 1983-1986 with neighborhood friends and it's just a blurr now.

All I can say is: THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !

These are days I never wanted to happen, but knew have been coming for 10 years now. So very, very sad. IMHO the best place to watch a game as a fan....no stadium is close. No not for the bathrooms or stuff like that, but to actually sit and watch a game, the loudness of the configuration.

Anyone else remember the 1981 Monday night game with Philadelphia ? Late in the 4th qtr, Miami trailing 10-6, 3rd down and 10+ deep in the closed end zone, Jaworski comes to the line 7 times to try and get the ball off, and the crowd was so loud he couldn't do it. Finally on the 8th try he gets the ball off, and threw an interception to Lyle Blackwood, who caught the ball on about the 30 yrd line. Miami then takes the ball in on 3 plays and wins the game 13-10 !!!!!

Anyone remember this one ? One of my favorite OB Dolphins memories.

That was beautiful, and made me cry. Yes it did, it made me cry. If you think me less of a man, so be it, but I cried.

I got emotional myself, and I don't think you should worry about what others think. If anyone remembers the experience of just going to ONE game there, they will get emotional too!

    That was great PhinFantic, thanks.

    That one line was true.
"The OB lost it's soul when the Dolphins moved out".
Personally, I think the Phins lost their soul with that move as well.

I feel for any of you guys who never got to see a Phins game there.
We truly had a 12th man in that stadium.

Anyone else want to share their fav. moments in the ole bowl?

My first game attended with my Dad in 1972 when we beat the Patriots 52-0 (Good 'ol days). Came over at least once a year for many years and enjoyed every game. Will miss the Orange Bowl but will never forget the memories.
