Leonhard is average at best. He is just like every other Raven defensive player, they hit F/A, team wants to bring him in to be prime player, they crumble. Jamie Sharper,Ed Hartwell, Adalius Thomas, all players who were bigtime at Baltimore who moved on to different teams and did nothing. They were all just a part of the system.
he's good, he adds value, but he's average. has upside and can make plays, but he's very slight at a position that size can play a factor in. dont misconstrue the term average, he's no better or worse then the typical nfl starting safety all things considered. i wouldnt jump for joy if he came here, and i wouldnt care if he went to the jets. for his size, the kids a super over-achiever, and a great story though.
Indeed. New England's biggest blow may have been Thomas, not Brady. That is debatable for sure. Leonhard would help 25 become the All-Pro Safety we all know he can become, its a shame he's had to deal with stiffs next to him his entire career. If we could just get someone average to play next to him, he'd be a lot better. We've had below average his entire career, so even if Leonhard were average, its an upgrade.
Ed Reed has always played free roam. Its not because of Leonhard, it was because of Rex Ryans defense he was allowed to do so. If anything, Dawan Landry is the better safety out of the two at that spot. He is more of a playmaker.
