You know who i think Chad Johnson could go to? I think he could probably go to a team like the Eagles and make them a legit threat in the NFC for next year. Chad Johnson with Donavan Mcnabb to throw to him would be insane. He said he needed more weapons and Chad Johnson could be that weapon. He could also go to the Panthers and make them a pretty good team as well.

We have two (our and the Chargers). I understand your point of view though since we're rebuilding and have such high picks. I was speaking more to the people saying Chad was only worth a 3rd. He's definately worth more than that and if he's traded the Bengals will get more. It's just comical because a lot of the same people who think JT will get a 1st or 2nd are saying that Johnson is too old or not good enough to warrant more than a 3rd rounder. Ridiculous.

I doubt he goes to Philly. They're still getting over the whole TO disaster. Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown have showed improvement as well. Johnson playing opposite Steve Smith would be sick. They may be willing to trade for him or they may be hopeful that Dwayne Jarrett will snag a starting spot next season.
I was thinking San Francisco. They need a good wide receiver in the worst way. Add in the fact that Martz is their new OC and it makes it seem like it could happen. They need quality wr's to run his offense. The snag is that they already gave their first rounder up in a trade. I don't know if they'd be willing to part with their 2nd, as well.

Why would he want to come here, we're worse than Cincinnati and have no QB.

Good point. Besides the fact that he'd have a chance to play in his hometown area, I can't think of any other reason.

Well players have been known to block trades and why would we wanta guy that quits when his team doesn't make the playoffs? I lost a lot of respect for him this year and don't want him on this team.

It's one thing to call out Chad for something he's actually done, but it's another to lie and accuse him of something he didn't do. For all the attention he brings, he's never initiated anything on the field with a teammate, especially the QB. You're thinking of Terrell Owens.

    :glare:

Go check the headlines from week 17.

Chad has openly stated that if on the market, he'd love to come home and play for Miami.

I think losing Ronnie Brown, the constant losing of games and the Quarterback merry-go-round may have contributed to the O-Line slipping into mediocrity and bedlam that was our season.

Mcnabb was clamoring for some more weapons and Chad Johnson is just that. Kevin Curtis would be a better slot and Reggie Brown would be a great #2. If they wanted to get back to the Super Bowl, Chad Johnson would be integral in doing just that. Think about the Top teams in the NFC playoffs, they all have good defenses and or good CBs.

Bigger question, who would block for the man throwing the ball to Ocho Cinco. Doesn't matter who you have at receiver if the Defense can rush 4 and get past 5. We need to improve our Oline bad.

Chad johnson is 3x better than any WR in this draft and 10x better than any WR we currently have. This is a no brainer, BRING ON OCHO CINCO!

Only because half our team was on injured reserve this season. I don't know why people can't realize that if we don't lose Bell, Ronnie, Trent, Zach, Vonnie, etc. etc. that this team would have maybe approached the .500 mark at least. We were simply so bad because of the number of key injuries.

I think Johnson can recognize those facts and also see that things should be improving fast with Parcells and Co. in charge now. Plus, he's from the Miami area, so he could come back home....and he was probably a Dolphin fan growing up.

I forgot which game it was this year but the opponents D was a 3-4 and rushed only the front 3 for the majority of the game and they beat our OL. They rarely even blizted because the 3 DLmen continually beat out 5 OLmen... I wish i could remember who the team we played was... It was toward the middle to end of the season. Buffalo maybe :confused2:

I wouldn't be surprised to Indy go after him if they have the money. Sort of an answer for Brady and Moss.

The chance to have Harrison and CJ and Wayne lined up together for Manning would strike more fear in defenses than the Cheatriot's offense.

I think you under-rate our O-Line. 2nd half of season it went downhill but with Ronnie Brown gone for season, Green gone, QB merry-go-round and losing record it was bound to take its toll. It needs tweeking, nothing more. Ronnie Brown was leading the NFL in rushing wasnt he until he got dinged? If we had stability at QB and another quality WR and pass catching TE then now we are talking. O-Line isnt a major headache. Get a good LT and move Carey back to RT and maybe a decent FA guard then we are in business.

People are confusing the WR position with the RB position. For WR's (of course not all, but generally speaking), 30 is really the new 20. Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, & Torry Holt are all 30+ as well. I don't see the regression with WR's based on age that come with other positions.

Chad Johnson isn't "too old" for anything. I'm sorry, but a WR's age is beyond "overrated"

That would bring back Philadephia to being legit contenders. Kind of like the Terrell Owens impact.

Still, I want him here in Miami. lol

The average RB career is only 4 years and they dont usually last into their 30's. Thats because they take one hell of a beating moreso than recievers do. RB's hit the defense from the farthest point on the field and at the time of contact are usually moving faster than a WR. A good RB gets abot 20 - 30 touches a game (rushing and recieving combined) whereas a good reciever will get what, 10 at the most. Thats why WR's last longer than RB's

If 85 wants to be here and the Bungles are up for a 3rd for him, do the deal and enjoy having a combo of Ginn and CJ.

So I understand you are a strong advocate FOR Johnson, what would you be willing to spend for him?

I dont think he's over the hill, he is a very capable reciever and although some what of a clown not overbearing idiot (Like TURDell Owens or Randy the crybaby Moss)...

We need LOTS of help on this team, so I ask again, what would be your high price be?

    Hey now...

I'd be all for bringing Johnson in here, but for a 2nd? No way. That's giving an awful lot for a 29 year old WR, most of these WR trades don't seem to work in the first place... with the exception of Moss... Granted we got a 2nd for CC, but IMO San Diego overpaid but it's working out for them right now so they can't complain. The thing is, we bring in Chad Johnson in here, how do you think he is going to like it if we aren't doing too hot our first year... not only that but a 2nd year QB throwing the rock to him? Just not sure how he's going to like that. 3rd round pick, I'd part with... 2nd round pick, you might have to convince me.

Interesting scenario brewing up for next year (lots of ifs ;) )....

If we get Ocho Cinqo, if Ronnie Brown comes back healthy, if we draft Jake Long, if we pickup a good TE in the draft, and if Beck shows good improvement, the Dolphin offense could be quite a solid to above average unit next year.

There were a lot of 'ifs' in there, but I think all of them are very reasonable expectations.
