assuming he would have turned the team around in a year or two and not taken off like he has a habit of doing, sure.

Had BP came here 3-5 years ago. This would not even be a topic. But he came a the VERY end of JT's career right after the worst season in the franchises history. Man were are all most the Lions of 08-09....:cry::cry:

His track record PROVES that BP is one of the greatest at turning things around. But turning things around and truly having a shot to win it all...is a big difference.

I really do believe that if, BP would have been here when JT & ZT roamed the fields. They both would be retired right now...with RINGS BABY...with RINGS!!!

JT will not be in the league in 2 more years. He might even retire after this season... He did what every player SHOULD want more than anything from the NFL...WIN A RING. He made the best bad choice he could at the time. NO team like the Ravens, Colts, Pitt, or Eagles were willing to trade enough to get him.

JT could have really been a TO type player and not accepted the trade to the SKINS and TRY to force a release. He did not.. he left with class when talking about the Dolphin Players, Coaches and FO. He just left with the best bad choice he could...

It was a great move for Miami, they made the playoffs and got a 2nd and 6th rounder for JT. Now they might or might not get him back. If he comes back I am sure that JT & BP (and company) are all on the same page. If he does not, I hope he wins every game, unless it is vs. the FINS.

he wouldn't have taken the job unless he accepted that he would have to rebuild. So yes he wanted to rebuild somewhat.

Oh you went there didn't you. :wink2: I thought I was the only one who could see this. No one else seems to pick up on the fact that Taylor was always interested in seeing cameras at his charity events, and not really all that interested in what was helping people. 3 or 4 years ago, a friend of mine attended one of the Dolphins charity events. They said Taylor showed up when the press and cameras where there, put on a big smile, and then as soon as they were gone, he was gone too.

How did he win NFL Man of the Year ? Because he has a great PR firm, a smart agent and very savy people handling him. He is not naïve, as he knows all this type of stuff is great for him in Hollywood. It makes him more palatable to the actor community if he is seen as a good guy. Maybe I am just older than a lot of folks here, and have seen a lot more, or that I just don't trust people as much as I should, but even I, as a fan of JT's saw through all he was doing when it was mentioned he would like to try acting after football years ago. This acting thing with him is nothing new if you have been following the Dolphins. He made that MacCarther's Milk commercial at least 4 if not 5 years ago, and its been going on since then.

kinda ridiculous we are bashing jt's character as a human now.....doesnt matter if he showed up or not to his event....keyword is HIS....its his event....he has raised millions for kids in south florida, taken kids shopping for thanksgivign when they had NOTHING....has held countless "no press allowed" charity auctions and events.....im sorry PM but thats absurd man....he has done amazing things for people and changed their lives....and made them better....and was as humble as anyone during the time of doing it....he was never outlandish or outspoken like most nfl players.....

i cant believe his human character is being bashed, as someone who covered his events before....thats ridiculous....

there is no where in his contract that says he has to give away his earned money to help people....yet he does.....and he is bashed because he talked to press while there?!?!? ever think he was maybe trying to promote his event to get it more sponsers? to raise more money for people?! jesus christ........:pity:

I think this time its very different. I think Parcells sees this as his last job. He wants to do this one right, because if it is his last one, it will be his legacy.

However that all changes if he exercises that clause in his contract. We have about 20 days left to sweat that out.

I believe had he been here last year our defense would have been "that" much better, and maybe instead of a 11-5 record there is the distinct possibility they would have won maybe 2 more and had a bye and possibly the # 1 seed. We were that close to that.....just win that 1st Jet game, and that Houston game that is exactly where we would have been.

I can only tell it like I see it. I am not as trusting of people's motives as maybe you are. I have been jaded by a lot of things I have seen. What about the two brothers that owned Pharmed who have just been jailed ? They stole more than $ 5 million from the government, caused Medicaid and Medicare another black eye, yet gave millions to charity. Are they good or bad guys ? JT is not on that level for sure, but I just don't buy JT's goody-two shoes act without a grain of salt. No one is that good  How many times have we been let down by people who we idolize ?

Wow. Seriously, this all stems from ESPN speculating. They have reached PFT levels of throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks. Mortensen especially-he is jealous of Schefter and Glazer so he tries to scoop them constantly. If his speculation turns out to be true, he can claim he "broke the story", and if it isn't, he can blame his unnamed sources.

I'll just take a wait and see approach to the offseason, I think.

    Oh yes he can.

Parcells is going out of his way to collect blue collar hard working no-ego guys. Having a senior player miss off-season workouts to star in some TV program is not part of that agenda.

At best it creates a distracting media circus, at worst it sets a bad example that is followed by impressionable young players.

Bringing JT back doesn't make any sense business wise. And that's what running a franchise is, a business. Leave all the other crap about his speculated character flaws or intentions out of it. There's still not a good reason that outweighs the bad in bringing him back.

    The End.

Look, two things were clear to me last year.

A: Taylor wasn't coming into camp, and Parcells was not happy, when Parcell's is not happy with you, then you become an example of the Parcell's will (And you will lose).

B: Taylor wanted out. Nobody can deny he wanted out.

Taylor was hurt all year, and dancing and no camp hurt him. Once an older player gets hurt, the warning signs go up. And he got hurt more than once.

Taylor won't sign cheap, and won't want to be a back up pass rusher, he wants to play and be the man, and that won't happen on this team.

I loved what Taylor did while here, and I will admit I was very disappointed in the way he acted and lost respect for him while doing it.

But I don't want him back, and its not because I lost respect for him, its because of the injuries, his motivation and I want to get younger players in here.

If Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano want him back, there's only one statement that makes me perfectly happy to have him back.

    Jason Taylor owns Tom Brady!!!!!!

That gives us a huge shot of two games. Sure we might have kicked their butts in the first game this year, but can you honestly say it wasn't because of the new Wildcat and Cassell still coming up with being a starting NFL QB?

The fact that JT alone keeps us in games against NE would make me accept the Trifecta bringing him back.

Regardless of how I feel about JT, the team has moved on and you all should also move on as well and stop clinging to the past. Onward and upward. :)

Not in the base defense, there he is a OLB, if he was used in the base rather than Roth. If we bring him back as a situational pass rusher, in the nickel and dime packages we use 4 down linemen. Porter would be on one side with his hand on the ground like he was last season, and Taylor would do the same on the other side, most of the time. There is the chance they could use him in a role similar to the old Cobra role at times, but a good amount of his sacks would come when rushing as a down DE.

That's true, but I don't think Taylor would agree to a reduce role as a situational rusher. His gripe in Washington is that he doesn't want to take a pay cut, one could assume it's because he still feels like he's a starter who is playing at a high level. :wink2:

Taylor may do well to remember how we used Trace Armstrong the year they both posted big sack totals. Trace wasn't a starter that year as I recall.

I think it's funny how we as fans are. One year ago, before Parcells arrived, EVERYONE LOVED TAYLOR AND THOMAS. Now, because Taylor was looking out for his future after football by being on a TV show, people have flipped the switch on him. I'm really surprised that people didn't do the same thing to Thomas when ESPN showed him picking up his name card in the parking lot.

I do expect people to feel jilted after a favorite leaves. Sadly, I even expect people to start bad mouthing our once loved players after they leave. I'm surprised people didn't attack Thomas saying he was quitting on the team when the footage aired.

I just appreciate what each of them did on the field for us. They were always class acts on and off the field. I think they have earned all of our respect. I know they have earned mine.

So i've got this gut feeling.

The people that traded him to the redskins (who are the same people in charge now and even if parcells does leave that still remains 2/3rds of the people in charge) will not bring him back.

What we will do, however, is use the 2nd rounder we got for him to draft another player a la Langford or Merling to be a fit for our franchise for years to come.

With Parcells and/or the people he HAND PICKED to head our organization we will build through the draft and FA and become a feared franchise again.

C'mon. Someone disagree with me. I dare you. :D

I think you're listening into the media way more than need to be. I am sure that Taylor committed to Dancing with the Stars before Parcells came to town... Maybe not before ESPN announced it, but I am sure that a deal was done before Parcells came here..

You weren't in the locker room so you don't actually know what's going on. All you know is that bull**** stories that are full of half-truths that the media is filling you with.

The deal may have been struck, but we do know that Parcells asked Taylor to pull out of DWTS and Taylor said no.

I look at this way, Taylor had a signed contract with the Dolphins for 2009 and 2010 seasons. Unless some freak accident happened to him and he was maimed for life, what prevented Taylor from putting off DWTS until his retirement ? If you notice, all of the other football players that have been on the show HAVE BEEN RETIRED.

Taylor was just plain selfish, and I can't believe so many folks here are so ready to dismiss his disloyalty. He had an obligation to the Dolphins and he treated it with disrespect. The person I think that should feel the most dissed is actually Wayne. Mr H was always more than fair with JT and JT turned around and spat on Mr H's franchise. I don't blame Wayne for getting out and I think this little story we hear of "capitol taxes" is as much a ruse as the one Wayne used to dump the Marlins in 1998. I think Wayne was disgusted by all the "personalities" in sports (Taylor, Saban, and others), and he just wanted out.

Didn't he only miss OTA's? Whats the big deal?

Personally, I would have no issues with bringing him back as a situational pass rusher. We all make mistakes, if you want to call it that in this case, and should be given second chances. Jason's done enough for this team outweighs the one negative he had. I'll take him, we need some pass rush help and I would hate to see Jason end his career on another team, especially another one that I'm not a huge fan of.

PMZQ the team told JT they would trade him after the 2007 season.....he asked The Owner of the Dolphins and the NFL and they all told him to wait a year, because of the game in London.

It looked like the Dolphins were not going to kept their word because Bill had just taken over the team, so JT turned to his good friend in the media " Jason Cole" to get the word out that JT wanted out of Miami.

I'm with you i do think what JT did was disrespectful and i would even stay he turned his back not just a team, but all of Miami and South FL and Dolfans everywhere............but at the same time the Dolphins were not keeping their word so in JT's mind all bet's were off and he did what he thought he had to to get out Miami.

New regime, new Head Coach, new Defensive scheme every other Dolphin took part, nope no big deal, he's JT..

The past is the past Alen, no need to bring him to Miami for what he did three seasons ago, if he can get after the Qb and is willing to work, then certainly...

To be honest though, fun is fun, but JT belongs on a team like the Chargers or even the Broncos, if we were one year further along in the rebuild, we could use him, but right now he doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to bring to Camp.

Point is that veterans don't always show up to OTA's, padre.

Ok. That's what I was going for as well.

Why doesn't he make sense? I think its pretty clear that we need pass rush help and if he's wiling to be a situational pass rusher, then he'll make sense for us.

what does the locker room and what may have been said there have to do with Kevins facts. Every point he made is true and not dependant upon rumour to have substance. Point blank, jt did not want to play for us any more.. he wanted to play for a contender and dance so he could be in a Hollywood movie. We weren't good enough last year and now he isn't good enough to play here this year. The only signing I support is for him to immediately retire Dolphin.
