I highly doubt it. Fans would crap all over her if she was the star of the show. I think after next season they're going to call it quits for good (unless they make movies) because I'm sure a show like this is extremely hard to come up with ideas, especially fresh and new ideas. Plus I think 24 without Kiefer would bomb in the ratings, even if it had someone like Tony as the lead.
Is this season any good?? After season 4, they've all been garbage imo. Couldn't stomach the over plots anymore. So?
I've been very unimpressed. Watching it feels like watching a re-hashed version of the previous six seasons. Same basic plot with different characters. I feel like the writers have no creativity regarding this show. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way.
It's still 24 so of course come plots will be re-hashed a bit. This season has been great so far Jack and Tony equal dynamite together I still get the feeling Tony does not make it out of this season(for real this time)
I don't think so. I mean yes, some of this stuff has been done before but it's at least somewhat new unlike all of Season 6. I do agree that the writers are having a tough time getting new storylines, especially with the 24 hour gimmick. It actually surprises me that the series has lasted this long.
are the writers/directors trying to get us not to trust tony for bogus reasons or are all this awkward shots of him some kind of foreshadowing? thats what i cant figure out
I think its the writers trying to put seeds of doubt in our minds just like they do in every season with characters we're not sure we can fully trust.
With Tony though? If we can't trust Tony and Chloe, then the show has just become wayyy over the top with the traitor theme. I don't know how they could make us believe that Tony is bad. And if by some stupid chance they do make Tony bad, I'll be extremely disappointed. Maybe to the point that I'll stop watching.
Well Tony is/was in fact bad, as he 'did some bad things' but I know what you mean. No I wasn't implying that Tony can't be trusted but if you go back to really any season, 24 always has planted seeds of doubt in our minds with characters as to whether they can be trusted or if they're good or bad. Hell they did it with Tony in Seasons 1, 2, and 4 already.
The writers brought Tony back to life because he was a fan favorite and the show needed a spark. I highly doubt he is a bad guy, but with 24 I guess you never know.
Wow, I've almost caught up and I am totally into this season. Unlike the last couple. I like Agent Walker I think she's pretty cool, but I wouldn't call her a female Jack Bauer, she's only just learning the tricks of the Bauer trade. That title would go to Nina for sure. Like every character other than Jack though she's a sub star. Jack isn't just a special agent, he's a super hero, you can't replace that. It would be like taking Batman out of the Batman movies And I too get the feeling Tony's going to turn on Jack, to 're-align' himself with Emerson (it has certainly been hinted at enough). Only to find out that Emerson was really part of the group the orchestrated Michelle's death - then he'll kill him . Oh man my mind is making up all sorts of crap
Hope all is well with you in Aussie land This season has been dynamite like I said before and it will be interesting to se when Mr. Voight makes his return
What is the big deal if the sister-in-law finds out he should not be in the country??? I forget his name but the FBI guy needs to be b---- slapped My guess for FBI "bad guy" is the computer guy having the affair
I think it's the head guy Moss. The "I trust no-one more" comment from Walker early on got me thinking. He's a little too protective for my liking too Plus that'd leave Walker free to match up with Bauer I've only seen the first few episodes but that's the impression I'm getting
And tonight's ep was the best of the season, IMO. President: How do I know where your loyalties lie? Bauer: With all due respect, Madam President, ask around. AWESOME. During the recap at the front of the show tonight, it hit me: Tony said he had the CIPdevice, and it was destroyed. What if it's not? See above. Nope, it's the blonde computer guy is boinking.
I think the bigger question is do the sister and his girlfriend not watch the news and see the terrorist's face all over it? The 2nd question is why he'd get involved with someone when he's..... you know a terrorist and all and has important things to do.
dont really think its her but you could be right. is the rat someone we havent seen yet or does it have to be between the head FBI/Chloe2/Young guy/blonde??? The one guy i dont like is the Presidents right hand man. (sorry im bad at remembering the names )
Another good episode last night. I was honestly surprised that Henry Taylor got shot at the end. He found out his son was murdered, got poisoned, got kidnapped, and was shot. He is having a pretty bad day .
i also had the thought that FBI larry might be bad, but he helped jack and he wasnt the reason why Dubaku left. i think the sister that called Dubaku is probably nothing more than a plot device to get him out of there but the thought did occur that they should be recognizing him from mug shots, but i dont remember there being anything on the show about newscasts showing his face, nor did i get the sense that there is some country-wide manhunt for him either. in fact, for political reasons, it makes more sense for the President not to tell people that the person behind the attacks is Sangalan, but maybe i missed something
I just hope that after 5-6 seasons of loyalty the writers wouldn't dare try to make Tony a "bad" guy.
Well, if you saw the preview, you might think the answer is ... Spoiler ...not if she kills them both first.
Next week's episode looks real good. These FBI people really think Jack's a monster huh? The guy only stopped a nuclear bomb, war in middle east, biological warfare, saved the presidents' life 20 times, etc. etc. etc. You'd think by now every town and city in American would have their main street named after Jack Bauer along with Schools and parks.
Yeah that's what annoys me about Renee Walkers' character. All she did was threat that terrorist's wife and baby. She never hurt them or anything like that and now she's all emo about it and looks like she's giving Jack crap about it. Lady, sometimes you have to sacrifice some people for the greater good of the country. In the grand picture pointing a gun at someone and their baby means nothing if it saves millions of people in both America and South Africa.
I couldn't agree more. I think the writers are overdoing it with Moss and Walker giving Jack all kinds of grief. Was the scene with Agent Moss and Chloe really necessary? "You worked 7 years with him and you survived...blah blah blah...Curtis Manning, Ryan Chappelle, his wife...blah blah blah"
