Lol, what a dumbass, I love to hate this team. PITTSBURGH (AP)—Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed is in trouble with the police over some towels, but not the Terrible kind waved by his fans. Pennsylvania state police say Reed threw a temper tantrum at a Sheetz convenience store in New Alexandria, a tiny borough about 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, because its restroom didn’t have any towels. Reed has been cited for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief, offenses similar to traffic tickets that carry a maximum fine of $300 and 90 days in jail each. Police said he broke the towel dispenser then used profane language to an employee and also outside the store. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-steelers-toweltantrum&prov=ap&type=lgns
Two things? A)Why was this guy using a Bathroom in a convience store at 2:50 in the freakin AM.. Second: What is with that STOOOOOPID looking hair. I guess I dont get the entire bleach blonde thing?
what Dan said^^^ players go to jail for fast women, fast cars or drugs... kickers go to jail for paper towels.. go figure
I can see it now "but.. i'm the super bowl kicker.. and you're out of towels.. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
You know, I hate all this "stupid kickers" talk, and the way people like Woodson on the NFL Network treat kickers. Okay, they don't tackle anyone, and are generally the least "tough" person on the field, but hey, ignorant ones, they win/loose games for you. Simple as that. I'm just an advocate for giving more respect to kickers, thats all. Reed is an idiot BTW.
Kickers are important no doubt about it but being a baby about a towel.. talk about not being the toughest one on the field.
Sorry, I really hate the Steelers and find it amusing anytime stupid things happen to them or their players. Kinda like this.
I agree with all of that. IMO NFL kicker may be the world's greatest job. You get some of the NFL glitz but you can still go out in public without being harassed by paparazzi or criminals. You make a really good salary. Your work week doesn't involve that much strenuous physical activity (compared to the rest of the team) b/c would don't want to wear out your leg. So you do some calisthenics, kick a bit and then play catch with the punter. You don't have to go to all those meetings b/c you're not involved in a ton of the game planning. You work 6 months out of the year. Your career can last longer than almost any other position. At the end of that career you're less likely to suffer from all the physical ailments that most NFL players have. The only down side is that you have to be able to handle pressure.
the time-keeper is important to the game as well....doesnt mean hes not a panzy also. kickers wear no pads, ridiculous face masks...and are not football players....its an absolute fact....they never ran sprints with us at practice in college....they never really gave a **** about the game....and were never in shape..... kickers are needed because field goals and kickoffs exsist on the field of play....when they are on the field there are 10 FOOTBALL PLAYERS out there....the other one is a douche with a leg.....
here is one of the BEST kickers in the league robbie gould...... and here is percy harvin....someone who looks "SMALL" on the football field
And what will happen when one of those "douches with a leg" is needed to kick the game winning FG to win the Super Bowl for the Dolphins? I know that if he makes it none of us will be calling him a "douche with the leg". We will be calling him a hero. I'm with you Tone_E, kickers should get more respect.
hero??? he did his job....and he wouldnt have the chance without the big real football players blocking for him....he kicks a ball between wide goalposts...its what he gets paid ridiculously high for....compared to the work kickers put in.....to the other players on the field.....its a ****ing rip off.....how much kickers get paid..... (all players are paid too high.....but for the work thats put in kickers are far more absurd imo)
Well, should Tom Brady be considered a hero then? After all, he's just doing his job. Those guys blocking for the FG, they're just doing their jobs too. Look, I'm not arguing that kickers are more important than any other position. I am also very aware that they don't go through nearly the same gruesome pain that other position players do, but kickers should get more respect than they get. After all, a lot of games come down to them.
Maybe in your world it is a "fact". Kickers are part of football and are therefore football players. Until they abolish the field goal, kickoffs, and punts, that is not going to change. Your obvious bias against kickers isn't going to change that either. In fact, they are the only people who actually use their FOOT in FOOTball.
oh come on, he's totally hawt Ace! and ya, you def. would NEVER catch me using a convenience store bathroom....can't boys just pee anywhere?? stoopid kicker....
not just my world....every team highschool and college i have been involved in and every team i have covered my time doing sports radio.....kickers are not apart of the team....its not my bias opinion bro....its fact....you ever see a kicker on the sidelines? hes with the punter....or a towel boy....off to the side....way off to the side... and really.....he uses his "foot" in "foot"ball so that makes him a real football player?!?! lmao.....great argument...hey guys.....chad pennington is a "quater"back he must collect change....or he is good with money.... lmao...
Actually, that's a really poor argument. Kicking the football is actually part of the game of football while making change is not. That attack was just logically flawed. I also don't agree with your facts. I've been part of teams where the kicker is always together with the team and I've seen the opposite as well. I've also seen teams where the QB was separate. It doesn't mean the QB wasn't part of the team.
And why was he washing his hands after he peed? Man Rule #472 strictly forbids this unless you are eating popcorn.
Wow. You sare the exact same opinion as Woodson on the NFL Network. Why don't you go ask his HOF arse how many games a kicker won for him. Ask him how many points a kicker put on the board to make his INTs actually worth something? Better yet, ask him how many times a punter forced a KR or PR out of bounds after the "10 real football players" effed up their assignments. Get a clue bro. The position may not be glamorous, but without a good kicker/punter, a team is going nowhere. I don't care how may all star "real football" players they have. It is all about field position and converting points wherever possible. Guess what? Kickers are a big part of that, whether you like it or not.
