Anyone try it? Kinda iffy towards this game considering the Ace Combat series always sets the bar high.
Hey, thanks for the heads up. Fighter simulator type games always intrigue me, so I am sure I will give this one a try. I agree that AC sets the bar high, but I believe this Tom Clancy game will be pretty good... (well at least look good).
I always loved Flight sims even with first-person shooters dominating the gaming landscape. Just downloaded it since I'm too loaded up with cold medicines to study. Apparently it froze (can still get back to the 360 dashboard though)...
I dont have the means to download the demo right now, but youll have to tell me what are your first impressions once you have played it. One thing where I do hope HAWX is different from AC is the realism. I would rather not have a seemingly unlimited amount of ammo. A lil more sim and a less arcade. btw... MCATs huh? good luck; a friend of mine is bashing his brains in right now gearing up for testing in a few months I believe.
lol, it'd probably have to wait for tomorrow since I'm getting the same problem over and over. Corrupt download I guess. Thanks, bro. Bashing brains is a good way to describe it.
It does play a little like AC6 but it just didn't feel like one to me. Though assistance off really makes for some insane (realistically impossible) turns. Missiles become incredibly easy to dodge. Voiceovers were kinda cheesy. Graphics are slightly better from this quick glance. Sticking the Hori flightstick from AC6 was kinda funky. Worked for the most part save for a few buttons. I like it but hasn't shown me enough to top AC6.
So can it use the Hori sticks from AC6? It'd make the purchase a bit more justifiable, lol (referring to the flight stick purchase).
It worked. Just not too well. Hori Flightstick is listed as compatible on the HAWX website under X-Box 360.
It looks fun, looks nice, looks like it has potential... but as of right now i like AC6 way better. I like to fly from the cockpit view, so far in this demo it appears the only way to fly from cockpit view is if youre in the assistance on mode, which sucks away all the controls of your plane really... if it would let me fly from the cockpit view, or ANY view other than the ridiculous camera views it uses when you turn assistance off... id buy it in a second.. however right now, until i can find a way to change the camera with assistance off... im staying away i think...
