He was great on Smackdown. I loved his character before they moved him back to Raw. I hate when the "writers" try to one up each other with characters when they move shows. If an idea is working leave it alone.

The new Saturday Night's Main Event DVD is insanely good. I suggest anyone who was a WWF fan in the mid 80s to pick it up. Just a bunch of good matches from top guys like the Macho Man, Harts, Hogan, Andre etc. Definitely one of the best DVDs the WWE has put up so far.

any of Hogan vs Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff's matches on there? they missed the boat not putting the strap on Orndorff back then. he was a great foil for Hogan back then.

The Steel Cage match is the only Orndorff/Hogan match, there's an Orndorff vs. Piper match on there too.

My only complaint with the DVD set is a lot of the matches end in a DQ or countout but the action is still very good inside the ring. There are a ton of Macho Man matches on there which is worth checking out.

Also rumor has it the WWE is finally going to release a Macho Man DVD in June. When can we preorder the thing?

It's too early to tell. I heard the set all just be straight matches and no bio but hopefully that changes. After Hulk Hogan, the Macho Man was the WWF biggest star during the mid 80s to mid 90s.

Some of the matches that must be on the set are:

    WWF
    WWF debut match
match when he first won the IC belt
    WM3 vs. Ricky Steamboat
WM4 vs. Million Dollar Man when he wins the belt
WM5 vs. Hogan, when he losses the belt yet carries Hogan
WM7 vs. Warrior in the retirement match
SNME vs. Jake The Snake, ending their great feud
WM8 vs. Ric Flair when he wins the title
Summer Slam '92 vs. Warrior for the title

    WCW
World War 3 when Savage wins the battle royal and title
vs. Hogan (don't remember the specific match but I'm sure they can pick the best one)
vs. Flair (again pick any match that was good)
vs. DDP (any of their brawls)
vs. Sting, when he won the WCW title

    Extras have to include:
when Jake Roberts' snake bit him
    the wedding with Elizabeth
    some of his nutter promos

Those are just off the top of my head I'm sure I'm missing a lot of great matches he had.

I think the issue why there were so many DQ's was not so much that "era," as it was that show. Saturday Night Main Events were in essence, mini pay per views. Most syndicated wrestling shows (WWF Superstars, Challenge, WCW Saturday Night, etc.) pitted superstars vs. jobbers. Clean finishes were the norm.

WCW Saturday Night (and WCW's Clash of the Champions) was essentially a free ppv that typically matched up superstars versus superstars. They used it as a vehicle to push storylines and up buyrates of their four ppvs. Very rarely did they blow off fueds on a Saturday Night show. Especially considering that back then, even more than now, they catered to an audience that was not likely to stay up that late to see it.

Yeah Shane is too old, slow and fat to be a decent worker now. His offense is very weak too. Also if you're in a bitter feud with someone, you might not want to come out of the locker room dancing to the ring.

Anyway the WWE has backed itself into a corner with the Triple H vs. Orton match because if Orton loses than people won't buy him as a real threat anymore (although I question if they do now). IMO the Wrestle Mania match should be Jericho vs. Triple H because Jericho is extremely hot heel wise and really is the best thing going right now.

So I've been wondering when they would finally do the "Reality meets script" role with HHH and Steph and this story line from the get go had it written all over it. And with Edge winning the Raw Belt, I assumed when HHH won the other he was coming back to Raw, which props to him for actually staying on Smackdown as long as he has. He always gets the bad rap for being a spotlight hog, and I'm sure to a degree he might be, but its not like he doesnt carry the ball and run with it. He has always came through, IMO, in storylines, etc. I dont see Christian staying on ECW for long, unless they just really hate him now...

They need to do something with Kofi Kingston, especially because of the angle of Edge becoming the World Heavyweight Championship.

They should have Edge test Kofi's laid back nature repeatedly. Let it start with a backstage interview with Lillian Garcia (or some other reporter) asking Kofi about the incident at No Way Out. He shrugs it off at first, saying that the only thing he can do is move forward. However, Edge comes along, asking him how it feels to not even be close to winning the WHC, taunts him a little, then walks off laughing.

Have this continue backstage over the weeks, but in ring, have Kofi go on a winning streak, with the level of competition increasing until he beats a main eventer (like Rey Mysterio, or Mike Knox).

Then, one week, have him appear on The Cutting Edge as a guest. Edge then antagonise him more and more until a brawl breaks out that ends with Kofi downing Edge with the Buzzsaw. That should start a good feud.

there is no way Flair wrestles agian. He has to much respect for HBK to do that, and if he does, it takes away from WM 24 and from his retirement the next day on raw...Flair will be at WM but not in a wrestling capacity

I hope not. It would be a terrible match and a terrible idea. Jericho and Flair, as great as they are have ZERO chemistry in the ring even when they were in there primes (Jericho is still in his but Flair is a good 10 years off from being a consistent good worker). Plus I don't want to see Piper's old man gut ever again. Plus it would only make sense if Christian returned as Jericho's lacky. I can't see anyone teaming with Jericho.

A better idea would be Jericho/Austin, if Austin could wrestle somewhat. I still think the WWE should have went with Triple H vs. Jericho and they could have had Jericho slap Stephanie in the heat of the moment which could bring Triple H out the next week to attack Jericho to defend her honor. Plus the match would have been better.

  16. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I like the concept. Though, with Wrestlemania right around the corner, you probably have to do a slow burn for this one. Have Kofi in an interview segment backstage, and have Edge interupt it, but not even acknowledge Kofi. He just bursts in and takes over the camera time. Kofi, clearly irritated, kind of just goes away with that nagging at him.

Maybe have Kofi in a match and in the middle of it, Edge's music hits and he comes out. Kofi suspects that Edge is there to tangle with him, but Edge simply ignores the match and goes to the announce table to rant about Cena. Edge's focus should always be on Cena and his constant interference in Kofi's business played off like nothing more than a coincidence.

Have Cena beat Edge at WM25. The next night on Raw, Kofi's music plays and he comes out for a match. As he gets into the ring. Edge's music hits and he comes out with a mic. He talks about how he demands his rematch against Cena and he demands it TONIGHT. In fact, he isn't leaving the ring until he gets his answer from John.

Kofi takes acception to Edge's constant presence and goes to confront him. Edge looks at him like he is a fly buzzing in front of his face, attacks and sends Kofi to the floor, perhaps even doing an injury angle (sprained knee, concussion, whatever. Something that keeps Kofi out for a few weeks). Cena comes out, accepts the challenge and your main event for Backlash is set.

At Backlash, Edge is on the verge of winning when, who else, but Kofi comes out attacks Edge and costs him the championship. Kofi NOW has Edge's attention and Kofi has plenty of video evidence to play Edge the next night on Raw to get their fued kick started.

In fact, with that timeline, you can probably build up to a nice program for SummerSlam and elevate Kof at the same time.

    Good idea Silver. :hi5:

Also, Not sure if others picked up on it, but Grisham noted that Christian is EXCLUSIVE to ECW, meaning no spill over to Raw/Smackdown. At least for the time being I suppose. I imagine he gets shifted over once they do the draft after Wrestlemania.

I will give Christian credit. I hadn't watched ECW in a long time, but I have watched it the last two weeks solely to see him. He is a draw, even if on a small scale. Him, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne, and Tyson Kidd look like keepers for that brand. Along with John Morrison.

Drains like Ricky Ortiz, Miz, and The Boogeyman can kindly go away if you ask me. Focus on making Morrison a STAR along with Swagger and watch as those two become your next generation of Main Eventers.

I would love to see Jericho/Misterio at WM, but it doe slook as though Jericho will most likely be facing one of the legends. Austin makes sense, but I am not sure what time of shape he is in or if his neck would allow him to even do a completely crazy brawl like he used to do with Foley back in the day.

I think, whoever he faces, the odds are pretty good that Jericho loses and does so with outside interference from Flair/Steamboat/Piper/Rourke.

Quite frankly, I think a good idea for JEricho from here until Wrestlemania is to have him immediately follow each Hall of Fame inductee announcement with a rebuttle of his own. Have him talk down about the Funks, how they won World Titles in the 70's, more than 30 years ago, yet they continue to wrestle in bingo halls, high school gyms and other cliched places and are lucky to even be standing upright, etc., etc.

Have him do it after each inductee and at Wrestlemania have him get his comeuppance when all the legends come out, and hit their signature moves on him while he gets pinned by whoever he is facing. The crowd would probably pop huge and Jericho would have a nice transition fued heading into Backlash (assuming that a CURRENT star helped the Legends out at Wrestlemania, my pick is for...Rey  )

Morrison is the future of the company. He has the look, the moves and he's getting better on the mike. He really does remind me a little of a young Shawn Michaels (Sexy Boy era). I do think the WWE is going to push him to the moon once they're done with Orton and Legacy.

Yeah I agree there's no way Jericho wins against a legend, especially if it's Stone Cold. Which is stupid because Jericho should go over because he could turn that into the next angle. I really think the WWE is missing the boat here with Jericho. I really don't understand why they're in love with Orton because he doesn't have half the all around talent Jericho does.

Here's an idea-we need a "Samphin & Silver Fantasy Booking" thread. The two of you have such great ideas, but they get buried in the "Kane sucks"/"You leave Kane alone!" debates and "Thank yeeeeewwwww for what you do to yer bodies" comments.

    Just a thought.

Oh, and I must say that I HATED The Miz at first, but he has really really improved in ring and out. He is starting to generate serious heat. Not Jericho or Vicki Guerrero heat, but pretty substantial.

I appreciate the compliment, but throwing booking ideas out there should probably be contained to this thread. No one else really cares about it and the few of us that do, will find them in here.

As for Miz. He generates heat, but it is "X-Pac" heat. Meaning, people are actually annoyed by his presence. With Jericho, or Vicki, people boo those characters, Miz, the person, is getting booed.

Now you may say, who cares, heat is heat right? In some regards yes, but the difference is, people will PAY to see Jericho get his backlash. They pay to see Vicki Guerrero get humiliated eventually. No one is paying to see Miz. His heat is a combo of the X-Pac heat and spill over from Morrison.

If he was by himself, he would be persona non grata with a couple of months. Whereas Morrison would most likely shine in the mold of C.M. Punk (but as a heel). Miz needs Morrison a hell of a lot more than Morrison needs Miz.

this is sad; apparently 82 year old Verne Gagne had an altercation in his nursing home with an older resident who is 97, and knocked the guy down. the older guy broke his hip and died after being hspitalized and then having to go back after his release.

so Verne has been implicated in a police investigation into the elderly gentleman's death.

the article states that both are residents in a unit for Alzheimers related dementia, which provides a pretty good explanation for what happened... still sad though.

Looks like the WWE released Manu. Can't say I'm surprised as he just didn't look like a WWE 'Entertainer' nor was he any good in the ring. After they dumped him from Legacy I figured he'd be in ECW in no time but I guess not.

Orton gets heat though. Jericho should be top heal on Raw though. The part he is playing is better suited for Jericho, seeing how Jericho is now becoming the "legend killer".

I agree, Orton doesn't strike me as anything more than a mid carder. I don't find him or his character very interesting at all. That's the problem with Legacy, they want us to take them seriously but Rhodes looks like a 15 year old on the high school wrestling team, DiBiase has the look and possibly the talent but he's always playing 3rd fiddle. And I don't think anyone really buys Orton no matter how many times the WWE tries to push him down our throats.
