Why? Could you elaborate a little on what it is about them you don't like? IMO, Chung is the 3rd safety in this draft and Delmas and Johnson will be gone. Currently prior to free agency, it looks like Bell will return but very possibly not Hill. We need a safety to pair with Bell. Brace is solidly the #2 NT in this draft and regarded as a mid 2nd rounder. It is also a need position, considering as deep as we are at DE, we are equally not deep at NT.
I should have included reliable hands and being ultra durable when describing Chung. Those two things would differentiate him from Bell. Some of what I see from him is a projection to free safety since he was more of a rover/strong safety in college. I feel he has sufficient speed and ball skills to cover ground in center field and make the picks he gets hands on.
Here is one I can live with: http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock_Drafts/2009_nfl_mock_draft.htm 1. Larry English, OLB 2a. Clint Sintim, OLB 2b. Jairus Byrd, CB
Nobody on the whole really did THAT well. Brian Cushing though, he might have solidified himself around that 15 spot. New Orleans was a popular mock destination for him before the combine, after the combine I dont see any reason why that shouldnt still be the case. As for Laurinaitis, he didnt have a very impressive combine, and neither really did Malaugua. Im wondering if James falls out of the first now and if Rey might be around for 25.
Excellent tackler and special teamer yes. Ball Skills, maybe. Range, eh. Too many times I see TE's and WR's down the middle of the field get past him. Bites on play-action and gets out of position a lot. When you let Kevin Craft throw long balls on you, you know you got some work cut out.
Here's one: http://fantasyfootballjungle.com/y/nfl-draft/mock-draft.php (I think they missed a 7th) No WR in this draft? http://roshansnfldraftblog.blogspot.com/2009/03/mock-draft-3-21.html This one caught my attention, not because of the pick, but part of the explenation.
Here's one I would LOVE: 1. Hakeem Nicks, WR 2a. Conner Barwin, OLB 2b. Lawrence Sidbury, OLB/DE 3. SherrodMartin, CB/FS 4. Jasper Brinkley, ILB http://www.footballdraftanalysis.com/Mock1.html The whole first round actually is one of the better ones I have seen.
The only thing I possibly can find wrong with this is the fact that I'd probably end up in jail from celebrating too much.
