First time I think we've seen Ben truly shocked. I think it has more to do with the fact that Des is special. He's the wildcard of lost. He's the only one the rules don't apply to. Ben is going to need that wildcard to get to the island, and kill Penny. The fact that des got that happy reunion makes me think tragedy is coming. It was to much of a happy moment. Ben is going to use him and throw him away like he has everyone else. That chess game between Ben and Widmore isn't over yet...

Also, that reminds me... Why can't Ben and Widmore kill one another? It is against the "rules"... Maybe they can't kill each other because the island/time won't let them die. Think about it. If they're suppose to be alive in 2008 and at least till 09 (just an example), then in 08 they can't die. No matter what. It's like Michael trying to kill himself. He was suppose to live until the moment he died. It's like Danielle shooting at Jin. she can't kill him no matter what in 1988. Although she missed, she never could of hit him. The gun would jam or whatever because he is suppose to live in 2005.

There are some holes to that, but maybe something like that is happening?

:angry:Bottom of page 2 for this thread

Jack was in the typical khaki jumpsuit, Daniel was wearing a grey one, and Kate was in a dark blue Dharma outfit (with the "wrench" logo). And there were other names. First and foremost, "Radzinsky" (Eric Lange) was in the scene, and Roxy says the character was also wearing black. along with "Thug 1" and "Thug 2" (as identified by their trailers) and a number of other "rifle-toting men." There were also a couple of redshirts in Dharma khakis ("Casey" and "Elmer"). As for the action? Jack, Kate, and Faraday are in a gun battle with Dharma agents wearing black. They run, jump into the blue Jeep, ducking bullets and crashing into a Dharma van. Just as they get away, a large fuel tank explodes.

this happens about 3 shows down the road

Aha... So Ajira airlines was the losties, but what we saw was not the future, but the past. The island's current timeline is Dharma. Which means the 70's.

I bet Aaron is with his real grandma. That's why we saw her last week. She was misdirection. We were suppose to think she was after Aaron but she was just in town to collect her check. Now she's leaving with her grandson.

I can't wait to see wtf happened to Locke. It looks like a really good episode. This week's ep was suppose to air next week and next week was suppose to air this week. But Darlton changed the order. Only the 2nd time they've ever done that.

Line of the week goes to Ben: "Who Cares?"

EDIT: This ep confirmed another thing to me. John Locke=Jesus Christ. The parallels between the two were always huge. But now TPTB are no longer hinting. They're straight telling. Not sure what that means for the show, but it means something. Great episode.

Now that TPTB have decided on an end date, there's no more stupid fillers. No meaningless episodes. It made season 4 the best since season 1 and season 5 is blowing them all away so far. They're dishing the goods every week.

Did Ben go and try to kill Penny to make up for Alex. Is this how they try and get Desmond back??

Very nice of Hurley to buy all the seats

Are they all going to be stuck in the 70's??

I sure hope not. I'm hoping he killed his lawyer.

Another fantastic episode. I got goosebumps when the pilot was named as Lapidus. Very glad to see that character back.

Another interesting thing happened, but I can't see it through to it's conclusion: the Losties were switching roles for the return flight, e.g.:

Sayid boarded the plane as a prisoner (Kate)
Hurley boarded with a guitar (Charlie)
Kate boarded the plane resigned to give up a child (Claire)

Penny is probably dead. When Ben said he had promised an old friend to visit someone, I knew where this was going. Penny and Des reunion was awesome. Problem is, there were 3 seasons to go. It also pushes the story along. Des needs motivation to get back to the island.

So leaving the kid as an orphan and father-less is the way they'd go with that storyline? I hope not, I like the Penny/Des arc.

They did it to Walt... And I doubt little Charlie will be an orphan. I like penny/des too. But I like Ben more, and his revenge for Alex must be complete. Sucks for Des, but as Ben told Widmore, he broke the rules. Penny has to pay for the sins of the father, a common theme on this show.

I doubt it was Penny. First it would be too obvious and second Ben was pretty beat up himself.

Third, I highly doubt that Des and Penny were able to sail from London to LA in about two days time. It's physically impossible. They either flew to LA together in which Penny and the kid would be at a hotel, not a marina or more likely Des came alone.

Now what Ben was doing, or who whupped his butt is a question I can't answer, but Penny is alive, I'm pretty positive of that.

What do you mean too obvious? Not everything is time travel. It's very clear where Ben was going when he told Jack he promised an old friend he had to visit someone. The fact that Penny or Des put up a fight makes sense.

I'd bet you guys anything Penny is dead.dead.dead.

Ben is Hurley, the guy who wasn't suppose to be on the flight. Jack could be Locke? Man of faith...

Ben could of pulled a Charlie, standing in the bathroom.

Talking about Lost for a sec... The action this year is coming every show, which is certainly great. However, the overall story line, now that time travel is officially a part of the show, I'm kind of meh.... I mean, I still like the show, watch it every Wednesday, it's the only show that I DVR and then watch on the same night. Although, I don't pay attention as much as I used to... I'm not as attached to it. I used to watch every episode twice. Maybe, now that I have two kids since the first season has something to do with it...

Anyway, going back to that first season and something that I faintly recall, yet will probably be explained at the end. Remember the cave, and those two bodies (man and woman) that they found... they had a black and white stones on them. Did they also have dharma jumpsuits on? Could be my memory playing tricks on me, or perhaps something I read a couple of seasons ago. I speculate that we'll find out who those two were...

And the other item I believe happened during the second season, the missing film footage from the first Dharma video, a glass eyeball, and a bible (??) found in one of the other stations (forget the name, but I know one of you knows it). It was always "odd" that those things were somehow separated from the other station. Who put those items there and why? I expect that to be explained too.

Some people just don't like the time-travel. It's been there all along though. Watch season 1 again, you'll notice how sci-fi the show always was. I think season 5 is kicking the **** out of all other seasons. Even season 1, which I used to think was the greatest season of any show.

I can try and help with the rest. Adam and Eve had white and black stones. This relates to backgammon, a game which Locke taught Walt, and had an interesting convo about. They did not have Dharma jumpsuits. We'll find out who they were according to the producers. When? who knows.

As for the missing reel, that's important to the story. In this missing reel footage, Marvin Candle explains that using the computer for anything other then putting in the numbers would lead to another "incident." The same incident that has been talked about a lot, yet with 0 specifics.

Whoa... Crazy episode. Episode 8 (next week) then a 1 week break, and then a Bencentric episode (I've heard rumors about this ep, and we learn a ton about Ben if true. Like why he is who he is).

This show is nuts. Totally didnt see Ben doing that... if I looked at the time, I would of figured it out. Only a few min left, and something had to happen.

man how right I was about Reddick coming back into this show. awesome. sad to see him shot though..

as soon as ben showed up I assumed he would strangle Locke, was kind of a given knowing he died from an apparent suicide. the question becomes, what caused him to kill Locke? was it knowing the information about Jin to win over Sun? or was it something about Hawking? hmmmm

Thats what I think uit was. I don't think Ben had a clue about HAwking until Jon told him. Now with Jon "dead" Ben can find out the way to return to the island and be the leader again.

So the big question? Who do yo trust? Ben or Widmoore?

I vote for Widmoore, for now. He doesn't seem to lie, as much. And it doesn't appear as if he's ever wanted anyone dead. I don't think Keamy's killing Alex was Widmoore's idea as it was "against the rules". We've all seen what Ben is capable of.

Of course, by this time next week, I could change my mind!

Ah the beauty that is Lost.

The thing is, the producers switched the order of last nights ep with last weeks ep. If you watch them as originally intended, Ben kills Locke and the next ep Ben tells a story of Jesus resurrection. I think he knew Locke would come back alive, he knows the island better then anyone. He certainly does have selfish motivation. Which is why he killed him, knowing Locke would be OK, and it would get him back to the island. Not sure what his endgame is though.

I have a theory on why Ben did what he did, but I do believe he did it for the greater good, with a dash of selfish interest. Watch his face as he strangles locke. He looks like he's going to cry. Then the final scene he tells john he'll miss him, almost regrettably. Bencentric ep in 3 weeks, so we'll see then I hope.

I trust neither. Widmore isn't a good guy by any means. He murdered Alex (Keamy did, on orders from Widmore), and was going to kill everyone on the island. Protocol 2, according to Keamy, was eradication. Not to mention what he's done to Desmond.

Also, the word to move the island came from Jacob. Jacob wanted Widmore as far from the island as possible. It makes sense to me Widmore is the bad guy.

For that reason, I'm thinking Ben is the lesser of two evils. What's interesting is that Ben wasn't suppose to move the island. He was suppose to be there all along.

The first meeting between Hawking and Ben should be interesting as hell, but they'll probably save that for later.

    *********************************************************

About the flights (Oceanic 815 & Ajira 316). If Widmore knew that 815 stood a very good possibilty of traveling thru "The Window" and ending up on the island (we assume he knew because Abbadon knew) then one would assume that he could figure out about the possiblity of 316 doing the same thing.

That being said, if he wants so desperately to get back or even find the island, why has he not been on these flights himself?

Or, is he truly just playing a game with his chess piece Losties vs Ben's (or maybe Eloise's) chess piece Others.

Also, I think Lapidus took the canoe with a flight attendant. As we have seen from the time tripping Left Behinders, there were 2 canoes at their disposal. But, nobody around when they paddle off. The new islanders said there had been 3 canoes but Lapidus took one. So, where did the new islanders go when Sawyer & crew steal a canoe? Also, do we know where these canoes came from? I think when Sawyer & Kate leave the Hydra with Carl, they use a canoe similar to these. Which helps confirm what a few of us have been saying about this being the smaller island with the Hydra station on it. But, then how did Sawyer & the other Left Behinders end up on the small island?

Wouldn't Sun have disappeared in the flash like Jack, Kate, and Hurley and as a result been put into an alternate timeline.
