Honestly, this is the only game I can think of off the top of my head that really makes me wish I had a PS3. I want to play this.
didn't like the demo Edit - Not that I didn't like it... It was just another shooter to me. Which I do like shooters. I just didnt see $60 worth of shooter there.
No its the next gen shooter!!!!! its def. worth it!!! Really if they keep putting out games like this then the XBOX needs to step up its games. I have both and havent touched my xbox elite since christmas!!!! prolly gonna sell it... any way hope to game with you all soon on killzone!!! look for Finz72
ok ok calm down kiddo.... I'll give it a run. Just not gonna drop $60 at this very second lol I don't get games for free yah know....
Cool hope to se you on there!!! And by the way, I dont get them for free ether!!! I had to convence the wife that i needed this game. She dont like the fact that these games cost so much
i can tell you are new around here... Welcome. It was a joke because I actually do get them for free... As of very recently, PS3 games too. I guess this will be my first PS3 game to get with my free game card.
I actually agree. Apart from the awesome explosion I got from using an RPG the game was like an average shooter. Plus I hated how when I locked to coverage I would pop off whenever I took a shot then had to take cover again. However the online is supposed to be unreal but as of right now I have no urgency to pick this up. Maybe when it becomes a greatest hit but as of now nope.
This is the best game on the PS3 period. The demo show nothing compared to the ful game. Rent this game if you don't have the money. You need to at least try the real thing. If the default controls are weird for you then change them to Alt 2. This is more like a COD4 style scheme. You don't have to use the cover like that. When you hold down L2 to use the cover in front of you hold UP the L3 stick to remain up to shoot. You can even hold L1 to aim at the same time.
See that just seems like overkill to me. I should be able to take cover and that is it. It's difficult trying to hold L2 and at the same time pressing up and L1 or whatever to aim.
when asked about this at the store, all i say is that its the best looking shooter ive seen. I havent had the opportunity to play it, and probably never will, but it does look good. But given how big a gears fan I am (i have all the comics, the figures and the novel, and my own pair of metal cog tags) ... GEARS 2 > KILLZONE!!!!!!!!1111111one
Just played the demo earlier. Game itself seems like it could be fun, but I'm sorry... the controls are just horrendous. The aim sensitivity is way off: no matter what settings I used, I couldn't strike a balance between sensitivity fast enough to react to a new target on the edge of the screen, but slow enough to allow for precise aiming in set-piece firefights. If you play the warehouse fight at the end of the demo, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyone know if this game supports a mouse and keyboard combo?
Just got it last night, and will kick it on here in a minute. With that said, how do I get my own cog tags?
Ok, played for about an hour. Started to get a headache because I think I had it too loud. I am a bit slow with the controls (aiming), but I think they feel fine as far as fluidity goes. Nothing really seems too counter-intuitive. As has been said, the game looks amazing, but the sound is also top notch too.
This game has become overrated pretty fast, IMO. I overrated it after the first spin I gave it as well. Don't get me wrong... it's a good game and it's addicting. It's just not nearly as good as Resistance (1, not 2... 2 is crap) or maybe even Call Of Duty 4. The single player is short and repetitive. I mean, well, it's a shooter. Not much to do but shoot the same ol' bad guys over and over again. The multiplayer is all I care about when it comes to shooters... and this one, well, eh, it's got potential. There is only one gun that I like and only one map that I like. Nonetheless, it's the best online shooter available right now and there is nothing else to look forward to in this genre, so I'm trying my best to enjoy it. I hate the lobby system and the fact that you can't create a party. Having to join a friend's game sucks because if you don't want to create your own and you have 5-6 friends you want to play with... you're basically stuck joining a dead game that's like 75% full to ensure every one of your friends get in. That sucks. I'm worried about the lasting value as like I said, EVERYTHING about this game is repetitive and most people only use the default gun or KZ's version of the P90.
And God... why the hell did they have to give you such a low amount of ammo? Sometimes I have to expose a teammate to death only to pick up his / her ammo once slaughtered. Not that I don't get a kick out of standing behind someone, watching them die without helping, picking up their goods, teabagging, then "avenging" their death by stealing the kill.
Almost 4 years of hype. The original "is it or is it not CG" trailer was shown at E3 2005. Even if this game was made by Jesus, it wouldn't have live up to massive hype put behind it. That being said, it sure is a beautiful game but the controls are a bit sluggish and the game is a bit on the short side. Good thing I rented it instead of buying it. The Conduit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The game is striving to be more realistic. You are supposed to feel that the charter is lugging 15lbs. of gear.
Picked it up today from *gasp* EB...I hate EB but they gave me kick *** trade in value on 2 games that have been collecting dust for 2 months. Played for about 3 hours... The graphics are ****ing stellar, maybe the best looking game I've ever seen. It really shows the power of the system. The sound is VERY good as well. As far as the "actual" game? It is what it is. It's a shooter. I like shooters, I've played a lot of them. Every new one always says that they will "change the genre" but IMO the genre can not be changed, it is what it is. The default controls are AWFUL. Luckily there are about a half dozen options for changing this but still, bothersome. IMO, every shooter should base their control scheme on Call Of Duty. Why be different? I am looking forward to playing some online to see what that is like.
Default controls are indeed awful, but they work great for the cover system. Still, I changed it to alternate 2 so I had to adjust to using the middle finger on L2 for the cover, not that hard though.
The last "stage" or whatever you want to call it is the most annoying "stage" I've ever played in a video game throughout my entire life.
LOL...I'm about to get there...good to see I have a ton to look forward to. I played a little online tonight. The graphics are STUNNING, simply beautiful and the game flows very well, no lag what so ever. That said, they need to work on the spawn points and I don't like having to blast away at someone for 10 seconds to get them to die.
The official spawn point for each team is on the opposite side of the map from each other. You then have Technicians that throw down spawn grenades that way you can spawn closer to your targets. From what you are saying I think you are talking about the spawn grenade locations? Those are up to the players themselves.
I played the demo a little last night, I thought the aiming was really sensitive, and I had trouble distinguish friend from foe until they started shooting the snot out of me. I will try the demo again soon, it was a great looking game. I wish on the demo it would show you which buttons did what action. I died a few times because I could not figure out the buttons.
I am playing on a 42" and I walked right up to a bad guy and he shot the hell out of me lol. But then again I was trying to take in all that was going on around me. Maybe once I play it again I'll get the hang of it.
