That would certainly be one theory, but if that is indeed the case.. I suppose the next question would be: why aren't Locke and Ben in the timeline with Jin, Sawyer, Jack and Co.?
Didn't Jin tell Locke to tell Sun NOT to come back (when he gave Locke his ring)? if Ben had a suspicion of that, perhaps that is why he "killed" Locke?
i'm glad they are still keeping a religious aspect in the storyline. me and my wife were discussing the fact that the people on the island or atleast the "important ones" could be fallen angels, then in last weeks ep i had a idea that the resurection of jesus had to do with him being buried in a window to the island. noone actually saw his body rise from the grave..only that the body was no longer where he was buried. there is a war coming much like the war in heaven between god's angels and the ones cast out of heaven. one thing i don't get about the island constantly moving is that eventually wouldn't it have to move to somewhere like the middle of new york or tunisia or whatnot? i find it highly improvible that the island only moves from one uncharted part of an ocean to the next.
True, we don't know for sure. When Sawyer and co. found the Ajria water bottles, they also found dharma beer. That all could be from Dharma time, and the ones hooting at Sawyer and co were Dharma folk. As for the war... I think the war is actually one we know of already, and that's Dharma vs. The Others. Widmore mentioned Ben had ousted him off the island. We know Widmore funded the Dharma initiative. Perhaps he wants Dharma to win the war in the 2nd replay. The only way to do this is with the chosen one, Locke. Locke is special, and thus I don't think the rules apply to him. Kinda like Desmond, only much more powerful, Desmond couldn't change the future (ie. Charlie's Death), but maybe Locke can? Not sure, just a guess. The island is physically moving, it's moving through time. Remember Hawking said "they decided to stop looking for where it was, but when it was."
ben ousting widmore from the island much like god banished "satan" from heaven. i was also wondering if maybe the dharma initiative people maybe from a future time. as far as desmond being special i believe it is because he doesn't need a "window" to go to and fro the island but just doesn't know it yet? as you stated mine also is just guestimating.
from the start i wasnt convinced that widmore was 'bad' and ben was 'good'. i still dont think its the case, ben has too much of a mean and vindictive streak to be 'good'. im starting to like widmore more and more, tho i doubt he is going to be an angel in all this either.
http://www.docarzt.com/lost/lost-in-myth-lost-on-the-life-and-death-of-black-white-characters/ you should read this article. It talks about why we have the need to simplify to good or evil. Although I don't agree with everything in the article, it's an interesting read. Widmore, IMO is on the evil side. I think this for a few reasons, but I've talked about that before. Ben is bad, but works for the good guys. If that makes sense? Obviously Richard wanted Ben in the leadership role, and Jacob obviously communicated with him for some time. Ben was accepted, and clearly held favor for a while. TPTB have always talked about Ben's motives and how they're ambiguous. Last week, they went out of their way to get the audience to react to Ben, and it was negative. I think they're jerking our chains to set something up, in regards to Ben. I know we have a Bencentric episode coming up at some point. I know for a fact (Michael Emerson interview) that we explore Ben's childhood and Dharma (which should be obvious), but I hope we get some more of his off-island time and what he was really up to. I read something this week, too. When Locke asked Ben who Widmore was (S4), Ben said he didn't know why Widmore was interested in the island, just that he was. So Ben lied again it seems (assuming Widmore can be believed, which I think is as foolish as believing Ben, IMO).
love this show. but its one big cluster Fk.. Try watching the " lost for dummies" episodes as I like to call them. They're the episodes that aired the week before and come back on again an hour before the show comes on on Wed. The captoins really explain a lot., yet still we're left with some sort of mystery in true, LOST fashion. So in short, this show is almost frustrating to figure out, but we can't look away... thats what makes it so great of a show
Yup... They just revealed who the men Sayid killed worked for. Since it was on the enhanced version of Lost, it's not a real spoiler, but i'll mark it as one.. Spoiler They work for............... BEN.
you know, i think the point of the spoiler box is that you don't have to put in a gagillion lines before the answer
You've learning nothing from Lost, have you? It's all about suspense I know who it is, click the spoiler only if you WANT TO KNOW WHO THE BABY IS... SPOILER ALERT!!!!! Spoiler Damn, you're good... It is Ethan. How the **** did you guess that? We also got to see the 4 toed statue in one piece! Somewhere, wherever he is, Motion is happy... Or annoyed we only saw it from behind for one second Also, Paul had the Ankh. It's the Egyptian symbol for eternal life. Maybe the 4 toed statue is Egyptian? We know the temple has hieroglyphics, and the hatch had hieroglyphics at the end of the countdown. Interesting enough, the story of Jesus Christ was pretty much ripped from Horace, who was the son of Osiris. I don't know where I'm going with this... But perhaps Egyptian culture has something to do with the show? Good to see Richard Alpert as always. It's kind of funny... When we meet young Ben (I think Season 2? Maybe S3) he meets Richard, and he has long hair and is hippy looking. We know this took place in Dharma time. Yet, in Dharma time, he is now Richard as we've seen him for most of the show... Which I think means Ben is heading towards adult hood. I don't know if I posted this, but I think the "war" Widmore was referencing was Dharma and Hostiles (Others). Sawyer centric is gold once again. however, this love quadrangle that's coming... AWFUL. I hate it so much... I wonder if Ben can get rid of two of them for me... Does anyone remember what year John Locke was born? I'm thinking Richard went to John as a child, preformed the Dhali Lama test, John failed, and then this meeting with Sawyer rekindles his interest? We know when John was in high school that he was recruited by a science group, which was involved with Richard's off-island company (the one he used to recruit Juliet if I'm not mistaken). Crazy ****. ****ing ABC screwing us over with a week break. Making LOST a spring only show was suppose to eliminate that ****.
Spoiler Well I don't think I'm good, just pretty obvious if you think it through. It was a boy, he was born on the island so he had to have been an Other or part of Dharma. We already saw Ben being born in Portland so it couldn't have been him, although it would have been cool if it was him. It can't be Richard, since he was in the episode already. So what other males could it have been? Either Ethan, Tom, or Goodwin. I just picked Ethan because I couldn't remember Tom or Goodwin's names. Although it would have been interesting if it was Goodwin since Juliette had a thing with him. Actually it would have made more sense if it was Goodwin. So it was more luck than being good.
What I want to know is where Richard keeps getting his modern 90's stlye clothes in the 50's and 70's? Great episode last night. Not a ton of info revealed but very interesting in terms of the charachters, particularly Sawyer. Is he really content with Dharma/Juliet or is this just another long con? He and jin were still looking for their old friends 3 years later. And "LaFleur" seems to be a pretty big wheel in Dharma. He better have some info that he reveals post haste to Jack, et al in the coming episodes
The whole time thing is a mind ****... last night's show was sort of disappointing because they billed it as the reunion, yet we waited till the end to see just the start of that... now we have to wait two weeks... boo... On Richard Alpert... I can see him in the series final episode walking off mumbling something to the effect of... "I have some serious work to do"....
Kristen from E! has this little tidbit about Ben. It's soft core, nothing specific is given. One of those teasers (like Ausiello). Spoiler Lost is moving again—going back even further into the past to explore a terrible incident that changed the course of the Island (and its people) forever. When Lost returns in two weeks, the charming and talented young actor Sterling Beaumon (the kid’s 14 and he’s recording an album) reprises his role as “young Ben” for what will be a four-episode character arc. Sterling tells us exclusively that the story is “very major, and it’s going to change Ben forever.” Sterling, as per usual for Lost castmembers, is sworn to secrecy about exactly what happens but he says this very major thing “involves himself and yes, it is a trauma…Before the change Ben’s a nice, good kid…and then one second will change his life forever.” According to Sterling, over the course of this arc, “Ben will [come to] know everything about every little bit about the Island. We’re not going to learn more about the past with Dharma, we’re going to learn more about the past of the Island.” Say it with me people: Holler!
Oh... I forgot to mention another Egyptian symbol on the show... When Locke met Hurley at the insane asylum, Hurely was painting a picture of the Sphinx. The Sphinx was a guardian of sorts, protecting Giza. Egyptians called it "Hor-Em-Akhet (meaning Horus of the Horizon). I mentioned Horus already and what he stands for... Again, I have no idea where I'm going with this... We will learn more about the islands history, that's for sure. Could the islands origins somehow relate to Egypt? No idea... But they were an advanced culture. Makes me wonder what race Richard is (Cuban in real life)... Just thinking out loud..
someone else's theory Something is still not right about Juliet. She knows more than she lets on. When she and Sawyer started making out, I was like, "NOOOOOOO!!!" But when you think about it, maybe they're perfect for each other: the con and the con... ********************************** I agree. I think Juliette is aware that when you leave the island, you return to the off island present time. My guess here, but the world is not on the same loop as the island, so it wouldn't constantly be jumping along the time string. Off the island would have been early 2005 based on the timeline we were folowing prior to the island disconnecting from the time string.
I found some more regarding the Taweret, the goddess of fertility. Turns out (I won't lie, I did most of my research on Wiki, because i'm feeling lazy, but I feel like trusting it at this point) that Taweret, along with being the goddess of fertility could also be seen as a goddess of evil, but only when paired with Apep, who was a "demon, the deification of darkness and chaos, and thus opponent of light". Sound familiar? does it help that Apep took the form of an incredibly long serpent? Sounds like it could tie into the origins of the 'smoke monster'. The only downfall to this logic is that Apep supposedly only existed at night, and as we've seen the smoke monster is quite visible during the day. Something to think about though.
I'm not sure its Ethan. The age of the baby doesn't match up to the age of Ethan before he was killed.
Here is a good recap and possible things that could be solved on Wed. http://www.northjersey.com/entertainment/tv/41355522.html
Very awesome. Based off some spoilers I know of, things might become clearer for me. some other info... If you want to know the name of the 2 hour finale episode, click the spoiler Spoiler The finale is called "The Incident"
Join the darkside! Namaste tonight. I have a major spoiler, but I don't know if I should post it. Even if it's tagged, the urge may be to strong. Anyone want to put there 2 cents in?
it's everywhere and it being Lost I assume you have the name of the person/persons who die we have the spoiler tag and i don't know if you can do mulyiple tags but put in the first tag what you will reveal in the second make sense??
Lost was suppose to have it's series finale May 20 which is same day as American Idol finale Lost will know have a 2 hour finale May 13
Cool ep. Ethan is now confirmed... Kind of interesting they picked him, not sure why yet. Sawyer smacking down Jack was great. Long time coming. I love that rivalry. "The long con" was one of the best episodes. Kate and Juliet *might* be interesting... I want Locke/Ben... 4 weeks of no confrontation would be to much. we'll see though.
Why is Sun not in 1977 They made the runway for the plane that lands in present time or maybe future time Did the purge not happen. thats why dharma looks like it soes now
i believe he means that in the future with sun and lepidus the village is still as dharma would have left it and not as the others would have (i.e. the 77ers do something to keep the purge from happening) did anyone else notice the woman sitting in the back of the house that Christian was in? it looked like someone wearing a black tshirt with a band logo on it or something. could the Lost people have really screwed up and gotten a crew member on film? or is that purposely someone else
I didn't notice, that, will have to rewatch, but my gut guesses: Spoiler could it have been Claire... last we saw her she was with her Papa in Jacob's cabin, right? Maybe the band shirt was Drive Shaft?
I think it was a mistake, it happens right when Sun is looking at the picture. Over her shoulder you can make out the woman.
