http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/13/rams-cut-torry-holt/ I'd make a move for him if I were the Fins
Panthers are up against the cap I think, but he always expressed wanting to end his career in NC, so I wouldn't doubt you
The Jets "supposedly" have zero interest in him. I could see him in Philadelphia to quiet McNabb as well.
yea, he is gonna want money. I would like to add a vet receiver but at the same time I want to see what the young guys have.
The Rams saved a little over 8 mil by releasing him, so he'll probably want at least that wherever he goes. He's still got a couple of years left in his career. I wouldn't mind seeing a Torry Holt/Ted Ginn WR combination. The younger guys can learn a lot from him too.
Well, if he comes to the Jets, that'll be one heck of a roster of WR's in this division, between Moss, Owens, Evans, Welker and Holt. We'll need to be prepared to deal with that. Let's hope he goes to the Giants.
Knowing our luck that's exactly what will happen. If the Dolphins intend to be an elite team they need to step up unlike they did with the cornerback position.
Yeah , maybe we can offer him five, and sell him on all the palm trees, and superb women! ...er weather...
He will probably land with the Titans. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/03/sources-holt-to-titans-trade-fell-apart/
Good move for the Titans imo. Now they need to draft some young talent as well, though Im sure they arent making it a priority. Just glad it looks like hes not gonna be in our division. TO, Moss and Holt would be scary to face 6 times a year.
considering he refused to restructure his contract, to me, means he didn't want to go to Tennessee, and wants to see his options elsewhere... I don't think it means he's more likely to go there, I think it's less likely
It was not that he didn't want to go there, it was about the dollars. Perhaps they will structure a contract with incentive's to get closer to that dollar figure he is seeking.
Geez, Holt still looks like he can fly, would set an outstanding precedent for our stable of overachievers, and for a year or two, could be a nice threat along with Ginn. This, while sharing some applicable knowledge as a hugely successful, 6 foot and under reciever, with world class speed. Ok, 5 mil, sell him on the palm trees, and throw IN some women.
He would be a good addition but I'd still rather pony up for Boldin... Even at the price of a couple draft picks.
You're insane, Not for what Arizona is asking for him. I've said it before, we can get Torry Holt and Rolle for the same price as Boldin
Watched a tidbit on ESPN before. John Clayton said that the Titans are looking a Torry. He also mentioned the Dolphins being in the running for his services......... No link,I saw it...........
hope thats true.....after the pats inked galloway getting holt would be a great answer....and it would help our team immensely imo.....holt, ginn, bess, cam with fasano and martin our running backs and offensive line and pennington picking it apart is a nasty combination!!!
That's odd. A day before his release, he nixed a trade that would have sent him to Tennessee in exchange for a draft choice. The reason he nixed it was because he refused to restructure his deal.
I would love to see him here, but he would likely take time away from Ginn and that's not a plus. He'd be a good mentor though.
I don't know,Alen. Maybe he was bitter and did'nt want to give the Rams anything in return? Just my own thought, bro.
